Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 352: Chapter 205: Visiting as a Guest

East Playground, Ye Mo was listening to the platoon instructor of Class 22 report on the specific situation of the cadets when an instructor from Class 1 hurried over, grinning ear to ear, and whispered to Ye Mo: ”Boss, your mom and a young girl are here looking for you. Could it be your wife?”

Ye Mo gave him a stare: ”What nonsense are you talking about? My mom started teaching again after the summer break, how could she come here? If you’re going to joke, at least make it plausible!”

The Class 1 instructor became anxious, pointing at two figures standing at the entrance of the playground: ”Look, just go over there and see for yourself whether I’m joking or not.”

From a distance, Ye Mo really couldn’t make out clearly, eyeing the Class 1 instructor suspiciously, he looked towards the Class 22 instructor: ”Xiao Li, I’ve got everything about your side, tell Xiao Liang and the others that I’ll catch up with them later.”

”Yes, Boss!” Instructor Xiao Li chuckled slyly and lowered his voice: ”Boss, you better hurry over there, don’t let our mom wait too anxiously.”

”Smart aleck, what’s with that tone? Don’t listen to Xiao Dan’s nonsense!” Ye Mo slapped Xiao Li and glared at the Class 1 instructor Xiao Dan: ”Let’s go, if you dare to trick me, I’ll show you what’s what!”

Xiao Dan became somewhat sheepish: ”Boss, anyway, the young girl said she was your mom coming to see you, asked me to call you over. Judging by the girl’s clothes, she seems to be a student from this school, heh heh...”

Ye Mo, annoyed, kicked him: ”I’ll strangle you, you know full well she’s a student and you’re still spouting rubbish?”

Xiao Dan covered his butt: ”Boss, that’s clearly a kick! I just casually asked because that girl seemed so friendly with our mom!”

Mrs. Ye, seeing her son approaching from a distance, showed a look of joy, and then smiled helplessly: ”24 years old and still acting like a kid.”

”Auntie, that just shows how close they are,” Luo Ye quickly smoothed things over, knowing Mrs. Ye was feeling embarrassed because of her son’s behavior.

”Really, it is my mom...” Ye Mo sped up and ran over, ”Mom? Why are you here?” Without waiting for Mrs. Ye to reply, he turned to Luo Ye: ”Ye’er, I heard you were sick and I didn’t have time to visit you. How are you now? Right, how did you come across my mom?”

Luo Ye looked at the somewhat flustered Ye Mo with a smile: ”Shouldn’t we first take Auntie back to the dorm to rest? We can talk slowly then, okay?”

Ye Mo smacked his forehead: ”Right, right, right, I was so surprised to see my mom, I didn’t even know what to do.”

”Xiao Mo, if you’re busy just give me the keys; don’t let it interfere with your work.” Mrs. Ye pulled Luo Ye to her side, feeling her forehead: ”Good, no fever anymore. Little Ye’er, come with Auntie, I’ll make you something delicious.” With that, she opened the bag beside her: ”I happened to pass by a market on my way here, bought some fresh vegetables and eggs, luckily.”

Ye Mo looked at Mrs. Ye with concern: ”I’m really speechless, how did you carry all this stuff over here?”

”Mom’s only 55, if I can’t even carry this much, wouldn’t that be troublesome?”

”You, always trying to prove how strong you are, you didn’t even tell me about retiring. Just last phone call you said you wanted to extend for three more years, so you’ve been deliberately deceiving me.” Ye Mo picked up the two bags and instructed the Class 1 instructor: ”Xiao Dan, I’ll take my mom to the dorm, call me if anything comes up.”

Xiao Dan patted his chest, as sure as a ticket: ”Boss, go be with our... hehe, be with Auntie. We can handle everything here, no worries.”

”Xiao Mo...” Mrs. Ye worried about delaying her son’s work and tried to refuse, but Luo Ye quickly held her back: ”Auntie, it doesn’t matter for this short time, the training is specifically run by the instructors, and they will call Brother Ye if something happens. Nothing will be missed.”

”What a lovely child,” Mrs. Ye affectionately stroked Luo Ye’s hand: ”Such a beautiful girl, can you really endure this hardship?”

Ye Mo laughed: ”Mom, don’t underestimate her, this girl is fierce. She’s even better at shooting than some of the instructors. She caught this cold because she carried a classmate weighing over 140 pounds back in the rain, exhausting herself...”

Luo Ye quickly interrupted: ”Brother Ye, can you not exaggerate so much? I only carried Liu Xing for a short stretch near the bottom of the hill.”

”That’s still impressive!” Mrs. Ye looked concerned: ”Being a soldier really isn’t for girls.”

Mou Ye’s eyes reddened, in that lifetime, what Mrs. Ye loved to say to her was exactly this. Knowing she was an orphan, she cared for her like her own mother, looked after her, and even after Ye Mo left, she never spoke a word of blame...

Mrs. Ye, thinking she had touched on Luo Ye’s sore spot (in fact, they were thinking of different things), quickly patted and coaxed: ”Little Ye’er, don’t cry, Auntie will make you delicious food to nourish you.”
