She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 772: Chapter 806 Uncomfortable

Chairman Meng never joked around; every word spoken was not to be ignored.

“Dammit, I’ve already transferred people!” Shen Feihu hung up the phone irritably and hurried out.

Sheng Ning distinctly felt the tension and excitement permeating throughout the General Union Dance Troupe, even the air of the General Union seemed to carry a hint of gunpowder. Originally today they were supposed to perform for the border defense third team, but just before departure, a call from the Inspection Department came, cancelling all performances.

“What’s going on?”

“Has something big happened?”

Members of the General Union Dance Troupe stood in front of the truck, faces full of confusion. All the props were ready, they were about to leave, and suddenly the event was cancelled.

Sheng Ning stood among the crowd, squinting slightly, thinking of Shen Yu’s situation, her heart secretly speculated, could it be that things had blown up? The union generally wouldn’t cancel their comforting performances, which were planned for an entire month; now suddenly called off, surely something bad had happened.

Thinking of this, she frowned, her mind flashing with various conjectures, yet none could be confirmed.

Yang Wenying came from the Inspection Department, hands clasped behind her back, and said seriously, “The comforting performances scheduled for the following days are temporarily cancelled. Everyone should focus on daily training for these days.”

“Yes!” The group lined up, greeted her, and then together with the prop team, started to pack things up and each returned to the practice room to continue training.

Sheng Ning’s back and waist ached, and today she was unfortunately on her period, her stomach hurting unbearably. If she didn’t need to perform, she wanted to take a day off to rest.

“Captain, Captain!” Sheng Ning waited until everyone dispersed and she was the last to leave.

“What’s the matter?” Yang Wenying’s stern expression softened slightly, with a hint of a smile, “Are you not feeling well?”

“Mm!” Sheng Ning nodded, “It’s my period today, I’d like to take a day off to rest.”

“It’s really not suitable to do intense exercise during your period, why didn’t you say so earlier?” Yang Wenying scolded displeasedly, “I’ll grant you three days off.”

“This… wouldn’t that be inappropriate?” Sheng Ning felt rather embarrassed, having just taken three days off and to ask for another three could lead to people saying she was spoiled and had no sense of measure. “One day will be enough. I just need to use a hot water bottle to ease it.”

“Alright then!” Yang Wenying thought for a moment, looking at her with a meaningful gaze, “Sheng Ning, when do you plan to have children?”

“Ah?” This question was a bit out of left field, why would the formidable Captain also ask about this topic?

“Captain Xu is thirty years old, by that age in his hometown, his child would already be able to fetch soy sauce, right? Isn’t your mother-in-law anxious?”

Sheng Ning thought of her lovely mother-in-law, and a warm smile unconsciously spread across her face, “My mother-in-law is especially kind, very nice. Even though she’s anxious, she doesn’t press me. As you’ve seen, Qigang and I spend a lot of time apart; getting pregnant isn’t that easy.”

She too longed for a child, dreaming of having one with Living Yama.

“After Captain Xu is finished with this busy period, I’ll give you a year off to go home and have a child.”

“Really?” Sheng Ning was so excited she nearly could have flown, grabbing Yang Wenying’s hand with delight, she said, “That’s great! Captain, I just knew you’re the kindest to me.” A year’s leave, heavens! She’d wake up smiling in her sleep. With a whole year, she’d surely be able to conceive and have a lovely baby. She could even bring An’an over to sort out her school matters. She could visit the library to read and write, expanding her knowledge and literacy. She could also make lots of delicious food, and even help Liu Yilan research on a scar removal ointment.
