She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 763: Chapter 796: Must Be Eliminated

After his confidential secretary left, Shen Yu made a call to someone.

”Haven’t you always had a good relationship with Jiang Shaoxun? What does he mean by this?”

”Hey, you know what he’s like, when he’s busy with work he doesn’t recognize any kin, and my connection with him isn’t useful anymore.” Shen Ming was laughing it off on the phone, but inside he was full of questions. He didn’t quite understand what Jiang Shaoxun was trying to do?

Was he really planning to go against the Shen Family?

”I got it!” Shen Yu hung up the phone, displeased, as his confidant came in from outside to inquire about things.

”Director, Scarface just sent a message that he’s reached the border. However, he’s spotted an interesting person and once he deals with it, he’ll investigate thoroughly and return.”

”Who is it?”

”It’s Xu Qigang’s right-hand man, Chen Yingjie, probably came over following those two good-for-nothings the night before last, and happened to see Scarface head out, so he followed.”

The confidant gave a cold laugh, ”Chen Yingjie always struts around because he’s skilled in fighting, very arrogant. But this time he’s run into Scarface, it’s his bad luck.” Scarface is the best they have here. Despite being older, he’s experienced and vicious, not just Chen Yingjie. Even the remarkably talented Young Chairman couldn’t be more dead, could he?

”It’s actually him!” Shen Yu stroked his chin, revealing a sinister smile, ”It seems he’s discovered something, can’t blame me for being ruthless, he must be eliminated.”

”Rest assured, Scarface won’t let him go, Chen Yingjie is as good as dead this time.”

”What about Xu Qigang?”

”Xu Qigang sure is vigilant, has already noticed something wrong and is leading people in pursuit. But it’s too late, by the time he gets there Chen Yingjie will already be too dead to die again. He always seems to be one step behind at the critical moment.”

Thinking back to when Xu Qigang was just ten minutes away from saving the Young Chairman, the confidant couldn’t help but reveal a triumphant smile, laughing loudly.

Shen Yu, with a fierce expression, kicked the confidant in the stomach, sending him rolling on the ground before coming to a stop.

”Shut your mouth! Who told you to laugh?”

”Sorry... sorry...”

”Bai Oulan has definitely stabbed me in the back by now, get ready to respond!”

”Understood!”

No sooner had the confidant left than the phone on the desk rang. Shen Yu saw the number and frowned so tightly he could have killed a fly with it. A call from the old residence at this time definitely wasn’t good news. Sometimes, Father Shen’s information was frighteningly fast.

Shen Yu pondered how to answer, after all, he had indeed been too bold with his actions, always keeping them from his family. The only ones who knew were Bai Oulan’s family, and now they were calling...

The phone on the desk kept ringing, and Shen Yu steeled himself to answer.

”Hello? Dad!”

”You unfilial son!” Father Shen scolded fiercely on the phone: ”Do you know what damn thing you’ve done? How dare you?”

”What now?” Shen Yu was very impatient, ”Wasn’t the scolding from last time enough, or what?”

”Meng Xingzhi just came to our house, what do you think?” Father Shen was so angry he was near having a heart attack, ”I’ve suspended your duties, you better reflect on this.”

”Dad, you can’t suspend my duties.” Now Shen Yu was truly anxious; not only would many people laugh at him if he were suspended, but also his access to information would be severely limited.

”I suspended you for your own good,” Father Shen sighed, ”Today, besides the Industrial Report, there’s also an extremely unfavorable issue of One Weekly for you, featuring your front-page photo. Although I’ve forcefully intervened and had the newspapers destroyed, those who should know already do. Meng Ping got the photos developed and mailed a copy to every family.”
