Bear School Astartes

A mass weighing dozens of tons, that in itself sounds like an extraordinary number.

Lann estimated that even if he completed the full set of surgeries for the Interstellar Warriors, his maximum nude strength output would only reach about five tons. The original forging surgery could reach ten tons.

But combat isn’t simply a numbers game, whether it’s in the battle records of the Sons of the Emperor during the Interstellar Era or the battle records of Demon Hunters in the Magical Middle Ages.

They have all taken down prey whose strength and weight far exceeded their own.

And Lann himself wouldn’t be troubled by these numbers on paper.

Dozens of tons of weight, huh?

Then let me see... how this weight handles tripping!

Even a cow weighing less than a ton, if it slips when landing after a jump, could break its spine.

And the exact moment when the Barbaric Jaws Dragon shifts its jump is precisely the instant Lann was waiting for!

The Barbaric Jaws Dragon’s legs are arguably the toughest and strongest part of its body.

Being able to jump with this dozens-of-tons body shows immense strength and intensity.

And precisely because the muscle tissues in its legs were so powerful, the skin at these parts had turned a well-worn black!

At that moment, Lann targeted the right leg of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon.

The sharpness of the Lady of the Lake’s Sword was actually not suitable for the current scenario, so Lann chose to draw another weapon from his Alchemy Pouch.

The greatsword ”Turbid Flow,” with a wild gust and the ’crackling’ sound of splintering scales, smashed directly into the backward-bending right leg joint of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon!

But Lann’s combat goal wasn’t to ’injure’ but to disrupt the landing position and stability of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon’s legs.

Thus, just this force wasn’t enough.

Twisting his waist, spinning... then with the momentum of a swinging long leg, a ’boom’ directly kicked onto the blade of ”Turbid Flow” stuck in the flesh of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon!

Simultaneously, Lann’s left hand had already formed a hand seal.

Alder!

The triple impact stacked together, even with the tremendously powerful legs of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon at this moment of taking off and landing, it inevitably lost control of its landing stance!

The left foot was in position, but the right foot slid in the opposite direction due to Lann’s collision.

The massive body of dozens of tons, out of control, smashed solidly onto the ground.

And it landed in a terribly awkward posture.

The two hind legs of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon were nearly doing a split to the left and right!

There’s no doubt, the anatomy of the Barbaric Jaws Dragon doesn’t support it making such a move.

And forced into this move by Lann’s aggressive interference, the Barbaric Jaws Dragon immediately let out a thunderous roar.

But it was no longer a battle roar of fury before hunting, rather a gut-wrenching cry of pain.

The pain between its legs like muscle tearing was still secondary; this Barbaric Jaws Dragon was already covered with scars from enduring various injuries, acid erosion, flames burning, claw scratches...

It’s a warrior in this forest, ordinary pain would only trigger its ferocity.

The primary issue is... it senses there’s something wrong with its right leg bone!

If a creature remains calm after dislocation, fracture, or bruises, it can detect abnormalities in its bone.

The Barbaric Jaws Dragon now sensed it.

It felt it couldn’t exert force at the base of the thigh of its right leg.

This was what panicked it the most.

So even in the middle of battle, it clumsily paddled and clawed on the ground, before staggering to stand up.

Limping towards the forest.

Lann shook ”Turbid Flow,” shaking off the blood and shattered flesh on the blade, instinctively wanting to chase after.

But a voice from behind stopped him.

”Stop! Wait! Going in alone is too dangerous, let’s head to the base first!”

Lann turned around, just in time to see a man swinging across on a vine using the same type of hook that Wende used with his left hand.

It was clear that he had been rushing with all his might.

With a substantial ’thump,’ the man landed with both feet.

This was a man around 1.9 meters tall, with a strong build, black hair shaved into an understated short Mohawk, which instead made him look very spirited.

He wore armor seemingly crafted from various biological materials, exuding a savage aura.

But what caught Lann’s attention most was the contraption on this man’s back...

So big!!!

Like dismantling half of that Barbaric Jaws Dragon’s jawbone of the same size, then combining it with steel components.

Lann’s ”Turbid Flow” was palm-width, a finger joint thick, and 1.8 meters long.

That was already considered an extraordinary greatsword by normal standards.

But the weapon in front of him, its width could compare to his armored waist, and its length was around 1.9 meters, almost the same as his height!

Pursing his lips, Lann unconsciously hid ”Turbid Flow” behind him.

Not as big as his... Gosh!

”Turbid Flow” is a destructive weapon Lann prepared specifically for large monsters, yet now it’s been overshadowed.

But after coming to his senses, Lann realized the man had the same look on his face looking at him, just like Lann looking at the weapon on the man’s back.

There was a kind of ’am I seeing ghosts’ aesthetic beauty.

”You are the one the two from the recommendation group mentioned... Is this really your first time facing a Barbaric Jaws Dragon?”

His face alternately looked at Lann and at the direction the Barbaric Jaws Dragon staggered away, appearing obviously confused.

”Is this your first time on the New Continent?”

He asked again, as if confirming that everything he saw in front of him wasn’t wrong.

”Your first encounter with the New Continent’s monsters, and you repelled a four-star mission’s Barbaric Jaws Dragon? This guy’s ecological position is second only to the Master of the Sky in the Ancient Tree Forest! I haven’t heard that the guild sent two recommendation groups over!”

”If that indeed was a Barbaric Jaws Dragon... then I suppose you shouldn’t be mistaken.”

Lann scratched his cheek and hitchhiked ”Turbid Flow” onto his back.

”... Never mind.” The man seemed to have an easygoing nature, he scratched his head, ”Anyway, let’s head to the base first. Even for seasoned Hunters, it’s unwise to rashly enter the wilderness in a new environment.”

”The two from the recommendation group are already waiting at the base entrance, let’s go meet up.”

”By the way, I am Little Jack.”

Little Jack extended his hand to Lann as they walked in a direction.

”Call me Lann, can I ask who Big Jack is?”

In Western names, to commemorate elders or significant people, they would directly give the same name to their children.

And if the person with the used name is still alive, the children’s names would add ’Little’ to distinguish. Little Jack’s name should actually be ’Jack Jr’ if written down.

”My grandfather, also the Commander-in-Chief of the New Continent Expedition Team.”
