Bear School Astartes

Under the lead of an Interstellar Warrior, the mortal army as an auxiliary force can no longer be considered a mere ordinary troop.

Because their breakthrough and formation piercing abilities are incomparable to any other units!

Lann’s eyes were swiftly darting in their sockets, trying to gather more battlefield information every second.

This information would automatically be sorted by Mentos and then provided to Lann as auxiliary decision-making support.

This exaggeratedly heightened his battlefield efficiency.

What seemed like brainless, reckless charges like a storm were actually outcomes of multiple rounds of decision reviews by the bio-processor.

”Hold the line! Hold the defensive line! Don’t let these black-skinned dogs get away!”

Within the Northern Alliance Army’s line responsible for blocking the mountain roads, everyone was gasping for breath.

They were the frontline troops enduring the fiercest impact of the Niflgaard retreating soldiers.

Although Veltrest temporarily tripled their numbers before the encirclement to allow for rotation fighting and maintaining the line,

the Niflgaard people’s survival instincts were exceptionally fierce, and their numbers were overwhelming.

Even with triple the fighting force, the high-intensity battlefield confrontation had pushed everyone to their limits.

The defensive line was on the brink of collapse, even the commander of this troop was holding a huge shield, standing at the frontline for two shifts.

Yet, there was still no hope in sight for ending this encirclement battle.

Niflgaard soldiers spread out like a dark cloud.

At this moment, the commander of the line troops was complaining in his heart, why didn’t the Niflgaard people hold out a little longer during the engagement?

If more had been worn down, their numerical advantage wouldn’t have been so overwhelming on the battlefield with a group of retreating soldiers.

His arms were gradually growing weak and powerless, even the large shield itself was on the verge of cracking, its metal-edged perimeter had long been hacked into a mess.

Maybe... can’t hold on any longer.

The commander thought groggily in his head.

But in the next moment... ”Whhooosh!”

A sudden, terrifying gale awakened the entire line that was drowsy from being pushed to the limits!

The wind really made them feel not like they were standing on the mountain road, but rather squeezed into the crevices at the summit of Amel Mountains.

The high-altitude gusts howled past outside the crevices, as if it could drag a person, blowing them into the sky.

Soldiers on the line stared blankly at the scene before them.

It wasn’t ’like’... it actually blew people into the sky!

In the violent, concentrated gust, a row of Niflgaard people in front of the big shield line was indeed blown skyward!

The dense air blades changed the refractive index of the air along the entire route, making the light distort as if encountering a water surface.

Armor fragments, longswords, morning stars in their hands, bits and pieces, all were taken skyward along with the bodies.

Under the abnormal refraction of light, it seemed like a virtual mirage.

The entire scene was chaotic yet violent and enchantingly shocking.

[Turbulent Stream · Dragon Flash]!

The Northern soldiers behind the big shield line, due to the shield acting as an airflow laminar layer, were affected very little. But even so, they felt the rapidly flowing air outside the shield, causing an unusual sensation in their eardrums.

And as the soldiers wondered which Great Mage still had the strength to release such a powerful airflow magic at this point.

A tall, mighty figure charged directly into their ranks in the gap before the Niflgaard people above their heads, blown away, had landed!

With a loud ”Bang,” a mounted heavy Niflgaard knight, weighing several hundred kilograms together with his horse, was directly knocked flying by the shoulder of that figure!

Next, as if suddenly locking onto something, that figure swung the massive terrifying greatsword in a perfect arc, bringing it crashing down!

The target was a man in light armor hiding among the heavy armored knights.

At that moment, his face showed fear, yet he was muttering something.

Finally, just before the greatsword would slash... or crush him to death, a bluish Magic Shield expanded around him.

Forming a sphere, protecting him.

The man’s face showed joy from successfully casting the shield with lightning speed.

But immediately, the dark greatsword crashed onto the spherical shield.

With a ”clang,” despite the eardrum-piercing shock, at least it didn’t break in one hit.

However, following that, amidst the transformation of the man’s expression from joy to terror, a constant ’stabbing tearing’ minute cutting sound continuously emanated from the Magic Shield.

Subsequently, the continuous minute air blades wore through the Magic Shield’s resistance limit!

Using the sword’s contact point as a breakthrough, the continuous air blades brought by [Great Sever] broke into the man’s body inside the spherical shield.

Immediately, the shield originally meant for self-preservation was stained with the man’s own blood on the interior wall of the sphere.

As the caster vanished, the spherical shield collapsed, with the flesh and blood falling from the inner wall back to the ground.

After all was done, that towering figure seemed to adjust back to a normal human’s pace.

Raising that greatsword once more.

A synchronized clatter of hooves sounded, as sixty knights charged into the Niflgaard crowd through the breached opening.

Effortlessly, they divided and slaughtered enemies far more in number than themselves.

The Northern Alliance soldiers maintaining the line suddenly felt a reduction in pressure!

”Don’t just stand there dumbfounded, seize the chance to rest, soldiers. There’s still fighting to be done.”

As the commander was at a loss staring at this unfamiliar allied force, a half-grown boy on horseback, with a blood-dripping lance tip, appeared before him, looking down and said.

”You, who... who are you? From which nation’s Imperial Guard? I’ve never seen such an efficient team like yours.”

”And that person!... He is a ’man’, right?”

The boy twitched his lance, a bloodstained flag draping down, unfurling.

It bore a lion pattern on a blue field.

”You should use titles of respect, soldiers. That is Sintra’s knight.”

After speaking, Lincoln led the team to catch up with Lann’s pace once more.

The line commander was left gaping, unable to close his mouth.

Are all Sintra’s knights like this?

...Well, Niflgaard’s survival truly was a stroke of luck for them.

But no matter what, at least their pressure had indeed lessened considerably.

”Switch up triple shifts to six shifts! While the pressure’s low, make haste to rest! Eat! Relieve yourselves! Quickly!”

The battlefield was never a clean place.

And Lann, having swiftly handled the nearly crushed encirclement line, turned and dashed towards the fiercely contended Mushroom Mountain.

”Magic...”

Lann’s eyes stared at the constant flashes of magic light on the small mountain, a scene of the clash between the warlocks of both sides.

At this moment, the southern warlocks were not only a force against the northern warlocks, but also the pillar of confidence for the Niflgaard soldiers.

They have warlocks, so do we, we can fight!

This thought, whether reasonable or not, at least upheld the resistance spirit of the Niflgaard people.

What Lann had to do was to crush this spirit!
