Bear School Astartes

It was a captivating golden light.

The holy and gentle golden light was undeniably a positive supernatural force.

Quite ’different’ from the assurance Furinjira had given everyone...

After this seemingly sharp golden light flashed, the continuous, surging firestorm was suddenly torn open with a vertical crack!

The circulating magic power was severed at this moment! The heat and wind were interrupted by a well-calculated airflow model, creating a breach with a use of Alder’s Rune!

A massive silhouette against the fiery backdrop!

Like a flying sword, it swooshed in!

”Laris! Block it!”

”No! Something’s wrong!”

Meno Kuhorn’s loud command, along with Furinjira’s delayed scream of realization from the severed magic power, echoed simultaneously.

But clearly, Laris was not a combat genius who reacted swiftly and decisively; his combat skills relied entirely on pre-rehearsed actions and long-term spellcasting muscle memory, his decision-making in sudden situations was catastrophic.

Faced with the swiftly descending figure, he instinctively chose the tactic that had proven effective in the last encounter.

The Fireball Technique was conjured from his hands, already alight with flames, and launched towards the rapidly approaching Lann!

This time, in his fear, he launched not one but a swarm of fireballs!

This was the recommendation given by Meno Kuhorn and his advisors.

If the Demon Hunter’s speed was too fast, beyond the Warlocks’ response capability, then switch to defense instead of attack!

The faster the speed, the harder it is to change direction or come to an abrupt stop.

So, lay out large-scale, trigger-based attacks along his approximate path, waiting for him to crash into it!

Meno Kuhorn and his advisory team were undoubtedly tactical and strategic masterminds.

Although they rarely crafted battle plans for single targets, this move clearly showed their professionalism.

If it were truly a foe who temporarily enhanced speed with enchanted equipment, magic potions, or strange magic, then their plan would easily counter it.

But for Lann... This was unequivocally his basic skill!

He truly relished being a numerical anomaly!

The Lady of the Lake’s Sword, loosely gripped, was tightened by the gauntlet of the Grandmaster-level Bear School armor during his sprint, making a crisp ’click’.

Then—’whoosh!’

A golden blade light flashed, along the magic power veins observed by those cat-like eyes of Spiritual Sight.

The divine power of the Lady of the Lake on the longsword dismantled the fundamental construct of the spell.

In front of Lann, the dense array of small fireballs instantaneously disintegrated.

They turned into transient, magical flames.

His unparalleled and stable swordsmanship had always been Lann’s most lethal asset.

In this moment, Aron Dite’s tip sliced through a total of thirty-two small fireballs, creating a path just wide enough for him to pass through.

The severed spell structures of the flames lost their extraordinary explosive force and high temperature, leaving only their fire-like form, which didn’t stir even a ripple against the Grandmaster-level Demon Hunter Armor.

Lann passed through the dispersing curtain of magical flames without blinking.

”Surprise, buddy.”

This was what Lann mouthed.

And as a caster, Laris watched wide-eyed as his own spells were severed.

This shock nearly left him standing numb, forgetting the present circumstances.

He had never seen, even heard of it! How could anyone counter magic this way?!

The face, beautiful to the point of radiance, passed through vibrant flames, the scene possessed a stunning aesthetic.

But Laris, and all those currently watching, felt only a chill in their hearts.

This was wrong.

This was Laris’s last conscious thought.

Compared to their previous encounter, he felt that the Demon Hunter before him seemed like an entirely different person.

Then with a ’slash’, the elegantly curving blade tip grazed the sorcerer’s throat.

The blood sprayed from his throat was swept into the fire tornado, and instantly roasted into red vapor.

The caster was dead.

Before the eyes of the masses, dead without resistance.

Contrary to reports, the mage who once managed to ’repel’ the target twice, with improved spells and tactics... died within two seconds!

Astounded, unbelieving, then... madness!

The command post was filled with Niflgaard’s elite soldiers, normally high-ranking, with far-sighted views, and calm composure.

Even just before, they maintained composure because of Furinjira and Meno Kuhorn’s reassurances.

But now, all their plans were overturned, the basis for the operation was false!

The initial mistake impacted the battlefield, creating the current situation... The more elite they were, the less they could accept such an outcome!

”Let me through... let me through!”

After instantly killing a warlock, Lann stood like a towering, oppressive idol amidst the fiery backdrop, coldly observing the people scrambling like panicked ants.

Prestige no longer held sway, let alone persuasion.

A strategist, driven insane, violently shoved aside colleagues blocking his path.

Charging toward the not yet fully formed teleportation gate.

”No, it’s not finished yet...”

Furinjira’s words came too late.

The already terrified strategist hadn’t fully entered when his lower half suddenly went soft, then a collapse. His upper half, no one knew where it went.

Just half a second short, after the strategist’s lower half fell, the teleportation gate finally completed.

On the other side, the Demon Hunter was once more transforming into a whirlwind of destruction!

His towering figure, each flicker bringing down a row of men in perfect order.

Clean slices, blood sprayed.

The lower half before the teleportation gate twitched and kicked from residual nerve impulses.

But no one on the spot cared anymore.

Amidst their crumbling minds, the true terror was still the Demon Hunter behind them, slaughtering without mercy.

”Quick, go! Go!”

”I’ll go first!”

In the swarming crowd, Furinjira, who maintained the teleportation gate, watched helplessly as Lann’s position of slaughter drew ever nearer.

Her lips trembled unceasingly, clearly struggling to breathe, terrified by the relentless approach of death.

That wasn’t human...

The female warlock thought to herself.

Unstoppable and irresistibly deadly, it was like... disaster!

She glanced one last time at the strategists and commanders desperately striving to reach the teleportation gate, gritted her teeth, and stepped into her own teleportation gate.

In the face of a ’disaster’, no one could save everyone; she had done her best.

This somewhat soothed her conscience.
