Bear School Astartes

Furinjira’s response gave Meno Kuhorn a bit of confidence.

After all, the warlock beside the commander is not the same as ordinary second-rate warlocks. Furinjira Veges is a high-level Caster capable of opening portals in mid-air.

With a portal in hand, the command center shouldn’t be overrun, right?

Maybe that’s what he thought, or perhaps he was forced to think that way, surrounded by his many subordinates within the command center.

In any case, the rhythm of the battle cannot be disrupted by a Demon Hunter who appeared out of nowhere.

This is a huge war representing enormous interests.

No one can extricate themselves from it anymore.

Meno Kuhorn can only adapt and respond, mobilizing the maneuverable forces he can command to build an impenetrable defense line around his command center.

But all of this... is just another tactic induced by misdirection.

”Are we in control now?”

Lann confirmed with Mentos, who was doing calculations on site in his mind.

The voice of the bio-intelligence brain returned to the state it was in at the beginning, with a sense of fatigue and lag.

It used to take half an hour to develop a personalized training plan.

Yet today, the main requirement still maximizes its computational abilities to the extreme.

”Yes, sir, I have calculated the communication efficiency between the warlocks, the intervals between their communications, the amount of information communicated... everything is within the plan.”

So, Lincoln and others behind him suddenly found their process of advancing was extremely bizarre.

Leading them forward, Lann suddenly makes turns, and even reverses direction.

And after continuing for a while, he would suddenly adjust route and speed as if urgently avoiding something, without any visible change.

It was almost like... engaging in a battle of wits with some invisible enemies.

Meanwhile, they had to admit their chances of encountering enemies began to plummet, and everyone’s stamina started to recover.

”Sir.” With doubts from his comrades, Lincoln had to speed up, coming side by side with Lann.

”Did the Niflgaard people’s warlocks place invisible curses or Demon Spirits here? It feels like we are... circling around.”

”No, there are no curses, no Demon Spirits, and not even much Chaos Magic Power.”

Lann said calmly.

”We are indeed circling around.”

Even the few sporadic enemy encounters during this time were calculated intentionally to make the Niflgaard command aware.

Because only by letting the enemy know our limited movements can we control their actions!

Previously, when Lincoln asked Lann, ’Is it bad to be discovered?’, Lann just smiled and didn’t speak.

Because he actually wanted the Niflgaard command to discover his presence and movements.

If they can’t find him, then they cannot properly ’command’ them either.

”Received information, the Hunting Marquis is still moving! This time the direction is southeast! Send the Black Infantry Archery Corps over!”

”Can’t send them! They’ve been urgently maneuvering for two hours! Even if they reach the location, what combat power can they have?! They can’t even draw their bows!”

”Then what other troops? We must fill the gap!”

”Dalevini Brigade! Send them up!”

The information was communicated one by one from Furinjira’s mouth, then recorded by the clerks, and subsequently decisions were made by the strategists based on the battle intelligence.

This was originally a clear and logical procedure with defined responsibilities, but now, the command center was already in chaos.

One strategist tugged at his black and white necktie to breathe easier.

He looked as if he’d been soaking in a casino for days and nights, with messy hair and bloodshot eyes, as if dried out.

”Where exactly does he want to go... this is simply a cunning rat!”

On the tabletop battle map, besides the black Niflgaard Army, the red Northern Alliance Army, there was also a gray force rampaging across the map.

That force numbered only over sixty... no, to be precise: only one person is worthy of attention!

The map, originally changed every twenty minutes, was already an increased efficiency of information exchange.

But after introducing Lann as this variable, the new map laid out only for less than five minutes became chaotic.

And on the increasingly chaotic blueprint, driven by strained nerves, no one noticed that the defense line they had originally constructed was being gradually broken down by themselves.

Far advanced compared to ancient methods, the communication system allows commanders’ desires to command to be released and enhanced unprecedentedly.

Previously unknown and unmanageable front-line details can now be displayed before their eyes, which commander could resist?

It is pleasurable.

But, an ordinary person can only complete a limited amount of efficient work in a day.

Each maneuver of combat units affects the entire situation, after all, this is not within a zone with absolute advantage, but in the battle of a grand-scale battle!

Who moved away? Who stepped up? Who must be preserved? Who can be abandoned? Which battlefield is not important?

And with Lann’s seemingly chaotic, yet purposeful maneuvering, everyone in the command center was unknowingly consuming their mental power.

Thus, attention dispersed, reaction speed slowed...

Such prolonged busyness caused a sudden question to arise in this marketplace-like command center.

”Wait a minute, everyone... how long has it been since we’ve received messages from the Hunting Marquis?”

Dead silence descended like a curtain.

Everyone, including the dizzy Meno Kuhorn and Furinjira Veges, involuntarily turned to the clock.

Half an hour.

Within the busy transactions of liaising, analyzing, aftermath, and remedial actions due to frequent maneuvering of troops, everyone finally came to their senses from a dizzying high-intensity mental labor.

The culprit who led them to this series of army maneuvers... had no reports for half an hour!

A strategist pulled away from the silent atmosphere and grabbed the collar of a clerk beside him, his face looking as if he wanted to eat him!

”Check the records! See if something was missed? Hurry up!”

And Meno Kuhorn was even more direct, at this point standing a few tables away from Furinjira.

But he already shouted at the Female Warlock harshly: ”Open a portal! Open it fast...”

The famous General of Niflgaard no longer harbored any illusions. Upon realizing a thirty-minute blank in intelligence caused by the Demon Hunter, he decisively decided to move the command center.

However, time was already insufficient.

The combination of bio-intelligence brain calculation and Son of the Emperor’s emotional sensitivity and battlefield experience already allowed a certain team to infiltrate through the loosened defensive web!

”Clang!!”

A sound like the ringing of a chapel bell exploded outside the command center’s tent!

With the explosion followed the warriors’ loyal battle cries, and the accompanying screams and wails.

Even without seeing anything, everyone could hear: the camp was breached at a surprising speed!

A gruesome bloodline splashed onto the command center’s tent fabric, the furious red on the fabric made everyone’s face pale and legs tremble.

No more time for hesitation, according to Meno Kuhorn, the tactical master’s previous operational advice, Furinjira immediately raised her hands slightly.

A gust of fierce wind began to sweep everything as the incantation was intoned.

A large-scale covering spell, this thing doesn’t need consideration of reaction speed.
