Bear School Astartes

Only two people are left.

Lann silently estimated in his mind.

But at the same time, his body was reaching its limits.

The {Effluent} greatsword, which he could once wield with ease, now felt heavy and sticky, unable to be swung as swiftly as before.

But it’s okay... The enemy is even worse off.

The grandmaster-level boots with plate armor attachments stepped into the blood-soaked mud, advancing in a bow stance.

The {Effluent} greatsword, unable to be swung smoothly, was carried on Lann’s shoulder, as his entire upper body began to twist!

If it’s heavy, then there’s a way to use its heaviness!

In the shift of the upper body’s center of gravity, Lann put out half of his weight, together with the sword’s weight, all into one strike!

The movement of this attack was very broad, looking bold and wild.

But such a move, logically, has little lethality.

Because a wide range of motion signifies a lack of speed and a high probability of the attack being predicted and seen through by the enemy, making it difficult to hit the target.

However, in terms of technique and tactical planning, Lann was far ahead of his opponent.

So much so that he could even clearly see the action his target was bound to take next.

From an observer’s viewpoint, the poor guy seemed to be sticking his head into the block for beheading willingly.

”You freak, you’re out of energy...”

The big man with the enchanted shield hadn’t finished cursing before, under the horrifying and perplexed gaze, he collided head-on with Lann’s poised and rightful {Effluent} greatsword chopping down!

He gritted his teeth fiercely; veins popped on his temples as he lifted the enchanted shield with both hands!

A ”thud” sounded as steel collided with wood, giving off a solid, dull thud.

Didn’t shatter! Enchanted gear truly is reliable!

While the trust in high-priced enchanted products is undoubted, anyone facing such a massive iron-like sword crashing down directly would be terrified.

An expression of surprise bloomed on his face, but before the wild joy could settle...

A ’crack’ was heard, and in his expression of ecstasy, the bones in his arms snapped all of a sudden!

After all, it was a fifty-kilogram greatsword swung in a full circle, enhanced by the strike of a 300-kilogram warrior.

Hundreds of kilograms of weight, with the technical boost, the impact force certainly had to be in tonnes!

The enchanted shield was indeed trustworthy, but the person holding it, under the shield’s protection, had his head crushed by the wrath of the dreadful greatsword pressing down on the shield!

The corpse with an exposed brain slumped in the mud on the ground, arms and legs clad in armor sliding and curling, ultimately stopping in calmness.

Meanwhile, Lann propped the {Effluent} with its tip against the ground and shifted his gaze to the last person on the other side.

Darkley.

This guy, after gathering a group of his minions, instead tried to flee several times but was stopped in the battlefield by Lann, who saw through his intentions in advance.

Even his minions provided the assist to that.

The outcome of forcing a bunch of bugs together to work is just so ridiculous.

Even when life and death are settled, the enemy can also impede his comrades with the foe, preventing him from escaping alone.

”So, when people like you die in front of Hacksaw and the others, you just look grotesque and laughable.”

Calmly, Lann raised his left hand to Darkley, where the fingers of his ring finger and pinky were already bent into a bizarre form.

Clearly, two finger bones had broken.

That was from the damage earlier when resisting an enchanted warhammer.

The warhammer’s ability is to slow down the enemy’s vitality recovery rate, causing the enemy to become more exhausted and difficult to recover during combat. Thus, Lann’s {Quen Rune} shattered and couldn’t be renewed.

Although Lann’s bone structure had undergone enhancement, the natural construction of these two fingers determined their weakness in resisting pressure from certain angles.

So although a few knuckle bones did not suffer fractures or cracks due to their high strength, the enchanted warhammer still tore apart the soft tissue connecting the knuckle bones.

Resulting in being twisted to its current appearance.

And amidst the sound of muscle tightening and bone joint ’crackling’, the robust enhanced muscles of Lann’s palm, visible to the naked eye, fixed the misplaced and twisted knuckle bones into the correct position!

For ordinary people, tightening muscles in a state of bone dislocation would only cause additional damage. But Lann’s knowledge and control even allowed him to perform open-heart surgery on himself, so this matter seemed trivial.

”Come, kill me.” The Demon Hunter extended his once ’disabled’ left hand forward.

”Look, I’ve been too exhausted to swing my greatsword; even your subordinates could disable half of my hand just now.”

”What are you hesitating for? You’re about to walk out alive. Isn’t it tempting?”

In the distance, beneath Darkley’s helmet, his face had already become rigid.

Yes, Lann’s combat state had significantly weakened. Compared to the earlier slaughtering spree against the entire cavalry regiment with such prowess akin to butchering, now his movements could be described as slow and feeble.

But... this guy still, within five minutes, slaughtered all his reinforcements coming over with a speed visible to the naked eye!

... Why is this guy unkillable?! Why?!

Darkley’s mind was dizzy and muddled.

Firstly, because the current environment continued intensifying, in this bleak hellscape, many rampaging Niflgaard people simply collapsed suddenly in their track, never to move again.

In culinary techniques, there’s a method called ’low-temperature slow cook’.

It’s referring to treating the animal ingredients at around fifty degrees Celsius for hours, yielding a texture different from high heat, short time treatment.

Yet still considered cooked.

And now, many organs of the people around likely had persisted at temperatures upwards of forty degrees for almost an hour.

Though seemingly fine on the surface, the organs could practically be considered half-cooked.

On the other hand, the pressure Lann exuded upon Darkley didn’t seem to diminish even with Lann’s decline.

Is he still guiding my thoughts? Does he intend for me to attack proactively?

No! Attacking proactively is suicidal. I must escape... I must flee!

But what if...

What if that’s precisely what he wants me to do? Let me escape first, and then after resting, he uses the ways of the Demon Hunter to chase after me; he’s exhausted now, probably wanting to rest, he wants to scare me away! That’s highly possible!

Chaotic thoughts swirled incessantly in Darkley’s mind, like stirring a puddle of muddy water.
