Bear School Astartes

No matter what, no one can deny Furinjira Veges’s profound understanding of magic.

The warlocks of the Southern Empire do not hold high status, and their training is quite procedural, largely modeled after high-level artisans.

This is vastly different from the two great Northern Magic Academies, which treat casters as valuable resources, adopting a teaching style that is carefree and unrestrained.

As a result, Northern warlocks have achieved significant accomplishments in elite and high-end fields, while Southern warlocks excel in numbers and obedient collaboration.

Yet even so, despite the numerical advantage of the Southern casters over the Northern ones, many outstanding individuals still emerge among them.

Furinjira Veges is a prime example of this.

Her uncle is the renowned illusionist Atorius Veges, whose magical insights Lann has read about in the Airetusa library.

With excellent family talent and education, her achievements in mana and magic are not inferior to those of the famous Northern female warlocks.

In terms of a rough mage level classification, she could be considered a great mage.

And at this moment, this great mage of the Southern Empire is urgently chanting spells, commanding the chaos magic power to take shape.

A swirling spiral storm is forming around the command center’s tent as the eye of the storm, protecting the entire Niflgaard Legion’s command center within.

As for the camps and personnel outside the command center, they are entirely out of Furinjira’s consideration.

Perhaps others would think this is due to a disregard for human lives arising from being a noble in a slave-owning empire.

But Furinjira herself knows...

Just now, after the sound like a church bell tolled, how terribly frightening the sudden eruption of cold, bone-piercing spirit was!

Each and every warlock is a caster who treats mental telepathy as a basic skill, making their spirits extremely sensitive.

Therefore, many of them indulge in luxurious pleasures and power struggles, because the pleasure they derive from it is more intense than that of ordinary people.

But it is also for this reason, that when Furinjira’s expanded perception met the sudden burst of icy killing intent from Lann at the moment of action,

She practically felt as if there was a cold and sharp knife, gracefully and swiftly sliding into her brain!

Once again, she experienced a near-death awareness, and under this feeling, Furinjira felt as if she was going to be scared mad!

So she immediately initiated a large-scale storm sweep.

The commanders and advisors in the tent had no objections. Their job was to calculate gains and losses using living people on the battlefield as data.

Furthermore, they all understand the fragility of warlocks, where a mere cut on the hand during casting could cause a sudden pain that results in a magic mishap.

Even the great mages are no exception.

No one wanted to see Furinjira’s prepared magic go out of control here.

”Laris! Flames!”

Furinjira shouted towards another person in the tent during her spell chanting.

Laris, the warlock who had once ’repelled’ Lann in an ambush.

After Meno Kuhorn established this brand new communication system, his cautious nature led him to assign another warlock here.

Furinjira primarily maintains the communication system, while the mage, who once achieved a victory in front of Lann, focuses entirely on protecting the command center.

”Here, present!”

Laris was also shocked and shivering from the cold spirit that erupted only when Lann took action.

He clearly remembered that it wasn’t this intense the last time he encountered him!

But now it’s too late to say anything.

The entire command center tent had already been blown apart by Furinjira’s first wave of gales, the canvas swept into the storm.

Laris’s hands spread wide, flames generated from his palms, flowing into the outer whirlwinds like a water dragon.

Suddenly, the whirlwind, which had turned grayish from swirling up dust and debris, was tinged with fiery red.

The rapidly swirling air currents brought in large amounts of oxygen for combustion, causing the temperature to climb continually.

The tent, soaked in tree sap to be waterproof and fireproof, under Meno Kuhorn’s watchful eyes, was completely incinerated within three seconds in the fire tornado.

Humans couldn’t last long in such an environment, even in the eye of the storm.

But fortunately, this fire tornado was meant to buy retreat time.

Because the teleportation portal was forming.

”Blockage magic bomb!”

Amidst the fiery red illumination of the fire tornado, Meno Kuhorn, still with his battlefield acuity, shouted a reminder to the two casters.

”Can this magic be dismantled by a blockage magic bomb? Don’t forget the weapon in his hand!”

”No need to worry.”

Furinjira maintained the tornado while hastening the construction of the teleportation portal.

”The magic abilities of a demon hunter are weak, and they have no knowledge of magic, only learning monster science and ’practical’ disciplines for solving curses.”

”Even if he has close ties to Airetusa on record, how much can he learn in such a short time? If he could learn so well in such a short time, why become a demon hunter at all, when being a warlock would be so much better?”

Furinjira used logic and common sense as arguments to reassure the marshal, advisors, and clerks she protected.

Mere moments ago, these people, like gods, were deciding the battle outcomes of tens of thousands on the war maps. Now, under her protection, they were like a flock of chicks.

Though the situation was dire, Furinjira couldn’t help but feel a tinge of satisfaction from her warlock power craving.

”He can’t enter unless he has powerful frost magic or a druid heaven controller. The tornado relies on magic power to start, but even if a blockade magic bomb inhibiting magic is thrown at this moment, the tornado’s inertia would still allow it to persist for at least two minutes!”

Despite lacking the precision of using the fire tornado relying on Mentos for airflow modeling like Lann before,

Furinjira provided sufficient initial magic power during the tornado’s formation. Even without favorable environmental airflows, inertia alone could maintain the vortex for several minutes.

Her understanding of her own magic endowed Furinjira with utmost confidence. She even began arranging the evacuation order through the teleportation portal.

”Rest assured everyone, line up now, the teleportation portal can’t stay open for long, we must be orderly and save time...”

Her tone was calm, with a composure that suppressed negative emotions. This not only prevented her from appearing disheveled but instead highlighted her strength.

The advisors, clerks, and even Meno Kuhorn found their tense moods soothed by this tone.

However, even before the word ’time’ could completely leave Furinjira’s mouth...

A sharp sound sliced through the air!
