Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1235  Indulge [Bonus]

On the one hand, there was a path to indulge. He needed it— there was no doubting it. How could he pass up a chance to grow almost three times more powerful than he was now, knowing the kind of danger he was going into?

But there was no mistake about it: he would be indulging.

And maybe this would even open up a path for the Lust Seed to begin influencing his mind more than it had been capable of before.

And then there was the other… to ignore this chance entirely and use the Duchess as a puppet instead.

Of course, this came with its own dangers. Setting aside Sylasʼ own inner struggle with his Pride and Lust, if he didnʼt fuck the Duchess, Compelling Gazeʼs effects would begin to weaken. To make the cognitive dissonance the strongest, it was a necessary part of what he had to do.

That said, Sylas should be able to use her for long enough to get what he needed the most: information.

ʼYou know, if a Lust Madness Key was here, theyʼd have thrown you out for another host by now. This is just pathetic.ʼ

Sylas didnʼt reply to her. He walked to the rhythm of his own drum, and it was precisely because of that the little girl had been so wrong in her assessments of him time and time again.

Sylas wasnʼt predictable in all the normal ways, and that was his path toward becoming far stronger than he was now. If he so easily allowed things to sway and dictate how he acted, forgetting who he was at his core, then it wouldnʼt be long before this world chewed him up and spit him out.

Suddenly, something moist caught Sylasʼ attention. He looked down to find that the Duchess had bent his cock down. Standing on the tips of her toes, she held onto it with both hands, rubbing its tip between her legs and grinding her hips forward and back.

Her body shivered from head to toe, and she seemed to be gushing, her body convulsing again and again.

Mumbling continuously beneath her breath, she began to almost feverishly beg, hoping that Sylas would just take her already.

No matter how Sylas thought about it, there didnʼt seem to be an easy answer.

All at once, all of the impurities holding him back could be gone… at the cost of his own love of self-control and discipline.

Often, how or why something happened was far more

important than that it happened. If Sylas knew he wouldnʼt enjoy it, he would have already done it. But he couldnʼt accept the fact that he would.

ʼThen just hand your body over to one of your Contracts already. Letʼs get to the action.ʼ

Sylas had already thought of that. With Reverse Fusion, he could easily just give his body to Nosphaleen and let her do it.

It had to be his body, or else he wouldnʼt get the benefits, so there was no other way around that. But he still hadnʼt pulled the trigger on that either.

Reverse Fusion could be used in both a full and semi form. In the former, the mind of the Contract would take precedent in the Fusion. But… he would still be there somewhere. He would still be able to enjoy the sensations.

ʼDeeper, then…ʼ

Why did he feel the need to run from feeling good? If it was indulging that was the problem, then the line to draw was obvious. If it didnʼt benefit him to a substantial degree, then he shouldnʼt do it.

This was clearly not indulging. So why was he so turned off by the possibility?

Sylas took a breath and exhaled as he seemed to finally understand.

It was ironic that this was the case, and he had skipped over the answer from the very start even though it was right there.

At the end of the day, he really did only want to do this with Cassarae. He cared more about how she would feel than he let on, and that was a peculiar thought for him.

Sylas suddenly shook his head. That was just a small part of it…

No, it was even deeper than that.

He remembered the first time he tried to have sex. He remembered how in his own head he was about it, how he had practically suppressed that memory because it was another moment of weakness he never wanted to recall, how he had thrown those thoughts away until once again… He was forced to face them.

Back then, he hadnʼt been able to do what he was supposed to as a man. He came up with the excuse that having sex so young didnʼt make sense and it was dangerous.

Memories that Sylas had long forgotten, despite his supposed eidetic memory, came back in streams, and he could remember exactly how utterly infuriated Cassarae had been back then.

And maybe rightfully so. He had chosen his Pride over her back then, and it had led to an entire ten years of separation —time they would never get back.

Then he went around believing that their breakup had been amicable all because he beat up an asshole for her a few weeks later.

He too could be an immature teenager, it seemed. And now it was following him here.

In an attempt to be internally consistent, he was running away from those feelings that had overwhelmed him back then.

The need to conquer the woman before him in every way, to pin her down and ravage her… thoughts that he shouldnʼt have had in the polite society of Earth. But thoughts he was more than free to have here… especially in a Demon World.

He cared about Cassarae, that was very much true. However, it was also because he cared about her that he had to get stronger. That wasnʼt the real reason he was hesitating so much.

Once again, he was hesitating because of himself—because of a weakness he tried to cut away but hadnʼt cut away completely.

He didnʼt fear Lust; he feared the man he would become if he indulged in it—a man that wasnʼt allowed to exist on Earth.

A man that could exist now, but also a man that wouldnʼt be ruled by it nonetheless.

The woman before him was little more than a tool he would use to better protect his wife in the future.

The Duchess found the world spinning around her, and her cheek slammed into the wall.

BANG!

With her strength, she hardly felt a single thing but the rod that pierced her a moment afterward.

Her entire body went taut, and a gush of spraying liquid practically ejected itself from between her legs and onto the once-polished floors.

Something snapped within Sylas, a great surge and a cascading, blooming power descending onto the world. His Will seemed on the verge of breaking free again, but somehow it felt like it was his Demonic Will itself taking center stage instead.

However... it was something else that evolved first.
