Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1206  Old Bramaʼs Determination

Sylas sat with his thoughts for a while, his expression calm.

He had thought of the fact that this was a Linked Dungeon the moment he sensed the spatial fluctuations in the tunnel.

This must be part of the reason this secret realm of the Golden Grove was impossible to survive.

There was no telling which realm Megean had ended up in, what path she was taking down, or if sheʼd even survive.

Was the path down the same no matter what? Would you always end up in the hornetʼs nest?

There was so little information about this place even in the UniForge. The reason for that was plain and obvious to Sylas now.

How could they document the fact they had a literal Demon World at the core of their guild? That would probably get them ostracized by the world.

But what was odd was that they would still allow some of their own to enter nonetheless, rather than locking this place up and throwing away the key. There was certainly a reason for that as well.

ʼThose Races… they call themselves the Gold Lineage or something of the sort. They seem to take a lot of pride in that, even though their records donʼt explain what exactly this so-called ”Gold Lineage” is.

ʼBut, that Thryskai that came by was no normal Thryskai. It should have been a Demi-God. Why would a Demi-God be interested in a guild like this one that wasnʼt even amongst the top ten powers of this entire Sector?ʼ

Sylasʼ scope of the world was far more well-structured now.

He had a better understanding of hierarchy, and something like this that would have gone over his head before was much clearer.

But that made him all the more curious about all of this.

After all, he had the Thryskai to thank for the fact he was a D-Grade Human Simioid now.

ʼThe old man is desperate, but heʼs also too calculating to be at the end of his rope. He definitely feels that thereʼs a chance his granddaughter has survived, enough of a chance that heʼs not willing to throw caution to the wind and inform me of everything he knows either.ʼ

There was something else that Sylas had noticed, but he hadnʼt said anything.

The old man shuttled Sylas and the others to the entrance of this place so fast that he highly doubted that the other C-tiers even knew that this was happening.

The only reason Sylas hadnʼt said anything was because he wanted it this way too. This time, he truly didnʼt want to be watched. There was too much on him.

And just like the old man had thought, Sylas would have his ways of knowing.

He wouldnʼt dare to watch, because he would know that that would mean that Sylas would never save his granddaughter.

And because of that, he would also put his life on the line to make sure that no one else would be watching either.

ʼIn that case, if this is just a Linked Dungeon… Iʼll just have to clear all the way through.ʼ

Sylas had yet to truly understand the true extent of his new abilities just yet. Part of that was because he still couldnʼt see his stats because the system was so slow in integrating, but another reason was that everything was still too fresh and new.

While these few focused on their training and tried to keep up, he would just take the vanguard and use this as valuable training.

He would just stretch his legs a bit.

Sylas suddenly punched out.

A shadow that had been sneaking up in the darkness was shattered to pieces, unable to even lift a head.

Of course there was danger here; it was just careful danger trying to find its way around Sylasʼ senses. It had felt how strong Sylasʼ Will was and had only become more cautious because of it, trying to target one of the others.

Unfortunately, it was worthless.

[Shadow Stem (E+)]

[Level: 57]

—

ʼThis Dungeon should get harder, not easier. The fact that this is only Level 57 means that the number is almost certainly many times more than what we experienced in the first Dungeon. And… theyʼre harder to detect.ʼ

Well, for almost anyone but Sylas.

The thing with his flashy new King Slayer Title was that the first application was obvious enough: ignore D-Grade suppression. But the underlying root of that extended further.

It also meant that his Will didnʼt experience the same disadvantages when dealing with those of higher tiers than him. Meaning…

These E-Grades, so good at hiding even in the face of powerful E-Grades like Megean, stood no chance of hiding from his visualization range.

They were lambs to a slaughter.

Old Brama felt like his chest was about to burst, but his expression was focused. Sending Sylas in there like that would certainly bring down the ire of the council on him, but there was no way he could sit idly by and let them stop him from saving his granddaughter.

He knew why they would be against it. Sylas was Gralithʼs disciple. If he found out that Sylas had been strong-armed into entering a literal death trap, it would be over.

Quasi-disciple or not, the talent Sylas had displayed was too much. And this time, when he returned, Old Brama only felt that he was far more unfathomable.

A week. He had used the UniForge for practically a week straight without hardly any rest. Even in his wildest dreams, Old Brama thought of a genius that could only use it for ten minutes. And yet, what one could accomplish in those ten minutes would be enough to change someoneʼs life.

So what had Sylas managed to do?

BANG!

The shattering of air echoed through the surroundings, and Old Brama sighed on the inside. What would come would come. But no matter what, he had to hold up the skies right now.

Not only did he have to defend his position, he had to make sure no one saw what happened inside.

This time, he would probably have to fight the whole Golden Grove on his own.

The clinking of metal and the shifting of gears echoed from his back as a mechanical structure of complex wiring, tubes, and intricate mechanisms formed over his body.

Yaoyao soared through the air, her expression furious.
