Eternal Thief

Chapter 1435: When the Powerful Fight, the Cunning Win! (10)

’Ridiculous!’

The Grand Wealth Lord was furious with the mere thought of his ascension grade-8 storage ring malfunctioning, which meant it was his own incompetence.

But soon, his expression suddenly turned blank when he noticed his empty middle finger, and there was an indentation on his skin. His flight abruptly halts, and he almost fell as he stared fixedly at his empty finger as if he had seen a ghost.

”I-impossible! Absolutely Impossible! I couldn’t have dropped it!” He started to mutter almost hysterically as his aura became chaotic, his expression went deadly pale, and he almost fainted from anger.

Without any hesitation, he quickly spread his law sense to the full extent and scanned every pebble as if searching for his dear life. He even retracted his steps all the way back to the sect, but couldn’t find the missing storage ring.

At this point, his expression was pitch black, and killing intent was emitting from her entire body like a fiendish butcher. Furthermore, the sect was already chaotic and if he had really somehow dropped his ring, then the chances of someone else picking it up were extremely high, and he can’t just slaughter everyone for no good reason, nor he can tell he had ’lost’ his ring which was even more humiliating then killing him.

But then, someone else came to his mind, and his eyes almost spat fire, ’Where is that slave!?’

As if finding hope in darkness, he quickly spread his law sense like a maniac. However, this action finally drew the attention of a Prosperity Elder who was nearby, managing the disorder.

”Who dares to raise such a ruckus!?” The Prosperity Elder’s voice was filled with rage and a hint of exhaustion.

All these strange events had taken a significant toll on these Prosperity Elders, and almost all the responsibilities of placating the masses and calming the sect had fallen on them when the Prosperity Matriarch had fled.

At this moment, an elderly dwarf appeared a few meters away from Grand Wealth Lord; he was exactly the same elder who had a war of words with Elder Maxwell in the Prosperity Scripture Hall.

”Mind your own business!” Grand Wealth Lord was not in the mood to entertain anyone at this moment, as finding his storage ring was most important.

When the dwarf elder saw that it was the Sect Master, he quickly calmed down and no longer had any intention of picking a fight, as they were all tired and many matters remained unattended that required their attention.

Nonetheless, a hint of disdain was hidden in the dwarf elders’ eyes because this Sect Master had only shown up now when the danger was gone and the entire sect was in disarray. He didn’t even show his face when the law legacy was destroyed and his own mother almost died.

However, every Prosperity Elder knew the true identity of the Grand Wealth Lord and also his uncourageous personality. They knew he had only reached his current position because of his status as the Son of an Ascension King, and almost all the resources were available to him.

Furthermore, despite his reprehensible personality, there was no doubt that the individual was a genius and possessed a brilliant mind, which enabled him to become the Sect Master. However, the only flaw in his personality was that he was simply too cowardly and didn’t make a move unless he was absolutely sure of victory.

Nonetheless, the Prosperity Elders still have to give the Wealth King face and endure his antics, while some of them also secretly despise him.

The Dwarf Elder was naturally one of those who had no good will towards this cowardly Sect Master.

With a faint sneer, he was about to mind his own business and turn around after glancing at the Grand Wealth Lord, when he abruptly halted in his tracks.

With a hint of bewilderment, he turned around again and looked at the Grand Wealth Lord’s face, and when he saw ’that’, he was rooted in his place as he stared dumbfoundedly at the latter’s face and couldn’t retract his eyes from it as if he had seen a peerless treasure.

The Grand Wealth Lord was still desperate as he scanned the area with his law sense, looking for Ace. But with his powerful perception, he also noticed that strange reaction of the Dwarf Elder.

Furious, he glared at the Dwarf Elder and curtly said, ”Wise Lord, I’m warning you, I’m not in the mood to entertain you today. You better do your job and let me do mine!”

But the dwarf elder known as the ’Wise Lord’ didn’t seem to hear him as his eyes were still affixed on Grand Wealth Lord’s face as a bizarre expression played on his wizened face.

At this moment, even Grand Wealth Lord found it strange and thought something was amiss, ”What is the matter with you!?”

Before the Wise Lord could react, three more Prosperity Elders appeared, drawn by the commotion and the powerful law sense. They had almost the same reaction when they saw the Grand Wealth Lord, and were rooted in their place without saying any words with peculiar expressions on their face.

”S-sect Master...you...your face...!” One of the Prosperity Elders finally spoke, stuttering with a horrified expression.

”What’s my face?!” The Grand Wealth Lord knew something was very wrong, and with all the bizarre glares and the Prosperity Elder’s horrendous reaction, he quickly acted.

He waved his hand, golden spirit Qi manifested in front of him, before it became seamless like a mirror.

When the Grand Wealth Lord saw his reflection, his eyes went wide with horror and disbelief as he instinctively touched his face and tried to wipe out ’that’. But after brushing his hand on his face, ’that’ remained in the same place.

”W-what is the world...is this thing!?” His voice trembled and was filled with confusion.

Covering almost the entire face of the Grand Wealth Lord was an imposing pitch black ’tattoo’ of an owl with spread wings and devilish horns. Not only that, but on its wings were hollow words which read...

’Thieve is Justice...Parting Gift from Heaven’s Advocate!’
