Eternal Thief

Chapter 1424: Judgement Field! (2)

’This might be troublesome...’ Ace frowned as he witnessed the Judgment Field, and from what Damien just said, Ace’s confidence wavered slightly.

After all, Ace might look down on Damien he would never underestimate him because of Damien’s background. Damien was a Heaven’s Advocate, an agent of Heaven, and they had been fighting with Heaven’s Stealers for ages.

Although Ace has yet to experience their methods, he knew they should be equipped with abilities that could counter his thieving abilities. But because of the Avatar of Holy Twilight, Ace regained some confidence since Damien seemed utterly oblivious about the B.E.L.L. page he had stumbled upon in the first haven.

Nonetheless, this Judgment Field still made Ace slightly uneasy because of how confident Damien seemed, and the pressure of the Judgment Field was the same as the Heavenly Punishment.

Besides Ace, even the Prosperity Elders were shocked by Damien’s explanation, and Prosperity Matriarch wasn’t any different. Now they were truly wondering if the high heaven itself had sent Damien, while Prosperity Matriarch was almost certain that Damien was the Son of Heaven.

If this were another time, she would’ve been ecstatic, but now, she had nothing but rage and aggravation. Moreover, the treasure of the law legacy was too important for the Prosperity Matriarch and the PHW King Sect.

”Since you’ve been insisting on this matter...” Prosperity Matriarch coldly looked at Damien and said, ”Alright, I’ll give you a chance to prove yourself. Prove to me that there is really the Sky Stealer here, and I’ll forget about what you just said, and everything will be settled. Not only that, but your Heavenly Justice Court will be a core level power of my PHW King Sect. Isn’t that what you wanted from the start?”

Prosperity Elders were shocked when they heard Prosperity Matriarch’s promise because they knew what a ’core level power’ represents. The top six king sects of the Mortal Ascension Heaven control vast territories, and there were countless numbers of first-grade sects, thousands of second-grade sects, and at least tens of king sects in these territories.

The core level powers were naturally the king sects, who were absolutely loyal to these sects, and they enjoyed high status and resources from the PHW King Sect. One could even consider those core-level powers nominal branches of the PHW King Sect, and they were also protected by the PHW King Sect.

Now, Prosperity Matriarch had promised to give Damien’s sect the same spot, which was completely unexpected. After all, Damien was only a Grand General, and his sect should be only a first-grade sect. This was simply too much.

However, when they considered the implications behind this promise, they thought that as long as they could retrieve the legacy item, it would be worth it. Despite not knowing what that item actually was, they knew it had to be something extremely important since it was hidden within the Prosperity Law Monolith. Most importantly, the Prosperity Matriarch was going crazy over it.

Damien gave the Prosperity Matriarch a reproachful glance, and truthfully, he no longer cares about this core-level power status much. Nonetheless, now that things had developed to this stage, he knew as long as he could keep Sky Stealer here, he would get everything he wanted.

Without hesitation, Damien uttered in a cold tone, ”There is no hiding in the light of Judgment. Even Heaven must bear its sins. Judgment Field: Eye of Heaven!”

The Judgment Field was actually Damien’s Divine Trait, inherited from his Heaven’s Advocate bloodline. As a divine trait, it possesses different abilities, and the Eyes of Heaven were just the first ability of the Judgment Field.

A fierce change suddenly occurred within the Judgment Field. The moment Damien activated the first ability of the Judgment Field, the pressure of heavenly tribulation underwent a profound change.

Above the dome of Judgment Field, a slit suddenly tore open, revealing a magnificent, ethereal, white eye, devoid of emotion. The moment this eye opened, it gave others the impression of utter coldness and impartiality.

Furthermore, everyone within the Judgment Field’s range could ’see’ the Eye of Heaven, and felt like something was probing their very being, even the Lords and Grand Lords weren’t any different.

Ace’s eyes sank the moment that ’eye’ opened above the dome, it was like something extremely disgusting had appeared, and he loathed it from the bottom of his heart.

Furthermore, he could feel his killing intent almost explode, and he was barely able to reign it in, which made Ace’s expression grow colder as he looked at the eye above Damien.

’Who did the Eye of Heaven belong to? Is it really just an ability?!’ Ace mulled as he was sure that it wasn’t as simple as it seemed, especially the profound aura emitting from that eye that only he could feel.

On the other hand, the Prosperity Matriarch’s heart turned cold because even she could feel a profound sense probing her, and despite her best efforts, she couldn’t stop it completely. A hint of horror surfaced in the depths of her eyes as she looked at the giant eye and then Damien.

’He’s not someone I can control easily...’ Her expression was gloomy, and a killing intent surfaced in her heart.

But what she didn’t know was that at this moment, Damien could literally ’see’ the hidden intentions of everyone’s hearts.

This was the effect of the Eye of Judgment. Upon activation, the Judgment Field scans every individual within its domain with the Eye of Heaven. This ability can bypass all illusions, disguises, concealed treasures, masks, even bloodline cloaking, and soul concealment.

Furthermore, those with hidden guilt or false identities have something called Deceptive Karma, which the Eye of Heaven uses to identify them and presents to Damien in a completely different perspective within the Judgment Field.

Those innocent or with pure karma will remain unaffected.

At this moment, under Damien’s gaze, he could ’see’ those with deep karmic stains begin to emit a visible ’Sin Aura’—colored mist depending on the nature of their wrongdoings, like murder, betrayal, sacrilege, etc.

Every ’sin’ has a different shade, but what Damien was looking for was a special ’sin’ that was colored in dark blue: the Sin of Theft!
