Eternal Thief

Chapter 1428: When the Powerful Fight, the Cunning Win! (3)

”Judgment Field: Scales of Balance!”

The moment Damien activated the second ability of the Judgment Field, the entire domain suddenly vibrated with primordial spirit Qi, alarming the Prosperity Matriarch. She wasn’t expecting Damien to lose all reason despite the odds against him.

The Prosperity Matriarch only thought that Damien was desperate and probably trying to use this chance to flee because he was guilty, especially now that his tricks were failing.

She also thought that Damien was attacking her because she was the only one who could pose a threat to him.

”Hmph, finally showing your true colors!” Prosperity Matriarch coldly snorted as she had already decided to detain Damien, and his actions were already proof of his guilt.

Even Ace was shocked by Damien’s pestilential move. However, his thoughts differed from those of the Prosperity Matriarch.

’He seems to have discovered something because of that peculiar look he gave me before he attacked...’ Ace’s expression was solemn, and he glanced at Prosperity Matriarch.

His expression loosened slightly, ’But he should’ve considered Prosperity Matriarch’s presence. She clearly thought of me as an important pawn in his scheme, so she won’t relent easily. Let’s see if he can fight against an Ascension King. It’s a good chance to measure his power.’

”Wealth King!” Damien gritted his teeth when he felt the Prosperity Matriarch’s aura fluctuating, and he knew the Prosperity Matriarch was going to act.

How could he not understand her thought process?

Nonetheless, he was determined to reveal Ace’s true colors and wouldn’t let the Sky Stealer walk away scot-free after humiliating him.

Although he thought that the Sky Stealer might’ve escaped this time, his ’helper’ or whoever ’Ace’ was to him was still present, and as long as he could deal with Ace, it would be like inflicting harm to the Sky Stealer.

That’s why he used the second ability of the Judgment Field, which he was holding back for the Sky Stealer.

At this moment, the imposing phantom with a blindfold behind Damien suddenly released a profound aura, and all the Judgment Field seemed to have locked on Prosperity Matriarch and Ace.

The pressure of Heaven was multiplied tens of times, and even Prosperity Matriarch’s expression became dignified while Ace’s avatar trembled as faint cracking of bones cackling rang as if his body was about to be crushed, while Prosperity Matriarch still remained without any visible discomfort.

At this moment, ethereal Scales manifested above Prosperity Matriarch. One side of the scale was white, while the other was pitch black; a mystical pressure enveloped the Prosperity Matriarch.

”Are you really going to defy me?!” Prosperity Matriarch spoke, her emotionless tone lacked a threat.

”You left me no choice. You are too illiberal and refuse to see past yourself.” Damien sent a spirit transmission in a cold tone with a hint of bitterness. Before he glanced at Ace, he didn’t speak loudly because he was wary of him now.

”The Scales of Balance manifest above ’sinners’ after their sins are revealed. These scales can measure Karma Weight based on the distinction between good and evil deeds, the intent behind malicious or accidental actions, the Repetition of habitual sins or one-time committed sins, and finally, the Divine Law Conflict, which refers to transgressions against the Heavenly Will.

”If the black scale tips too far toward evil, the individual will be marked for Punishment, and if it remains balanced or the white scale tipped, they will be warned or spared.

”I’m telling you because despite the massive difference of power between us, with the final ability of the Judgment Field, I can still inflict law injuries on your law body and soul that can’t be healed easily, not to mention the things that can heal them should’ve been extinct a long time ago.

”I’m sure you have many enemies, and once they learn about this, they won’t miss this chance, not to mention with the Law Legacy gone, the entire PHW King Sect will be vulnerable.

”That’s why I’m giving you a chance to back down right now, and hand over that guy to me. I’m certain that he has been in cahoots with the Sky Stealer all this time. You had already seen the peculiarities surrounding him. If we fought against each other, the one who would reap all the benefits would be the Sky Stealer.

”I’ll still be on your side if you give in this time, and I can promise you my help when you’re ready to face your Transcendent Trial. What do you think?” Damien tried one last time to persuade the Prosperity Matriarch to abandon this exchange. He really wished she would listen to his reasons and hand over Ace.

After all, despite his prowess and heritage, he knew he wasn’t a match for an Ascension King yet, but he was too stubborn to let Ace go now that he had discovered the relationship between ’Ace’ and Sky Stealer.

Furthermore, he still remembered how the Sky Stealer could come and go as he pleased despite Damien’s abilities, which made Ace a massive threat to his conquest against Heaven’s Stealer.

Although he wasn’t sure how they did it, he didn’t want to miss this opportunity and would do everything to get rid of Ace, even if it meant offending the entire PHW King Sect.

Lastly, even now, he was baffled about why his Judgment Field couldn’t target ’Ace’, even the Scales of Balance couldn’t manifest because Ace had no sin, and most of his power was based on Karma and Causality.

Just this point alone made Ace worthy of his full attention and a threat to his absolute predominance, not to mention that he was 90% sure that Ace had already joined Heaven’s Stealers’ side.

Since Ace had already decided to go against him, he won’t show any mercy, and now that he was under Prosperity Matriarch’s control, and weaker than him, he was determined to nip this future threat in the bud.

As for his promise to Prosperity Matriarch just now, even if he wanted to help her, he knew he didn’t have the authority, nor did he intend to forget about the grudge between them. But the Prosperity Matriarch won’t know all of this, and as long as she feels threatened, she won’t go too far.

However, Damien had greatly underestimated the Prosperity Matriarch; he didn’t realize that she had achieved her status and power entirely on her own.

She had developed this peculiar instinct due to the law and cultivation technique she practiced; she could sense that someone wanted to harm her, and Damien gave her the same feeling from the start.

Although this was very vague before, it was now extremely strong, and her expression turned even colder; a hint of cruelty surfaced in her eyes. ”Let me witness your power then...”

The next moment, Prosperity Matriarch activated the first mystic ability of Prosperity Law, ”Golden Flow Reversal—Return to the Worthless!”
