Eternal Thief

Chapter 1427: When the Powerful Fight, the Cunning Win! (2)

At this moment, Damien’s expression was gloomy with a hint of confusion. On the other hand, the Prosperity Matriarch’s eyes were cold as she looked at Damien with a hint of malice.

The reason behind Damien’s dismay was simple: it had been almost an hour, and after scaling the entire wealth mountain within the range of Judgment Field, Damien still had yet to find any trace of Sky Stealer!

The Prosperity Matriarch has been following him all this time, and because Damien didn’t retract the Eye of Heaven, she had ’seen’ everything while she also used her own power and sect’s formation to scan the entire sect a few times.

But there was no sign of someone breaking in or breaking out, and as the time passed, Prosperity Matriarch started to believe that Damien might really be trying to trick her with his theatrics.

Granted, there was no doubt that Damien was Son of Heaven, and he had the ability to make her wary of him, and that’s the only reason she gave him a chance to prove his innocence.

However, now that there was no sign of Sky Stealer, nor was there any trace of the missing Law Legacy’s treasure, she was losing her patience. Moreover, she can feel that the Judgment Field was losing power, and Damien won’t be able to hold on for long.

That was the moment she had been waiting for to detain Damien without any more variables and then use her methods to make him tell the truth. Nonetheless, she was silent and quietly following him without letting him leave her sight for even a moment.

Moreover, because of Judgment Field, the entire Prime Heavenly Wealth King Sect has been alerted, and this matter has blown. Not only that, but because of the destruction of the Law Legacy, the PHW King Sect members have absorbed its residual benefits, and the wealth mountain’s spirit Qi has also significantly increased.

But Prosperity Matriarch wasn’t happy because she knew it was only temporary, and this buffer period wouldn’t last for long. The Law Legacy was also a core component of the spirit gathering formation, and this is why the Law of Prosperity could be found in the Wealth Mountain.

But now that it was gone, the Prosperity Law would vanish, and it’ll be hard to comprehend, just like other laws. No doubt, this was a disaster for the PHW King Sect.

”What else do you have to say?” Prosperity Matriarch finally spoke, her tone slightly sarcastic and filled with hidden threat.

Damien didn’t retort; he was also extremely confused by this turn of events. After all, he always believed that once Ace dared to come anywhere near him, Ace wouldn’t be able to leave.

Yet, all his beliefs were crushed when Ace stole the Equilux Balance Ruler right from his hands, and he even forced him to flee with his soul. This was simply too humiliating for the ’Son of Heaven’ like him.

Furthermore, when he utilized his most powerful ability, which was intended to counter Ace, it was already showing signs of another failure.

’Could it be ’they’ were lying to me?!’ This was the only explanation Damien could think of, and he started to doubt his heritage.

”Since you have stratified your vanity, let me tell you a piece of news that the sect intelligence division received a few days ago.” Prosperity Matriarch coldly said, ”The Sky Stealer whom you’ve been searching for had been in the Great Crown Domain just yesterday, and he had raised a huge havoc there. The entire Runic King Crown Palace is searching for him, and so are others with an interest in the massive bounty on his head.”

Damien finally reacted as he looked at Prosperity Matriarch and narrowed his eyes with clear doubt. He knew about the Runic King Crown Palace, it was a king sect among the top six just like the PHW King Sect, and also the second-wealthiest organization after the PHW King Sect.

However, what was important was that the news about Sky Stealer had appeared there yesterday, and Damien knew how far the top six king sects were from each other. Even if Sky Stealer has access to teleportation channels between these two powers, it’ll still take him at least a month to reach the wealth mountain, not to mention infiltrate it and sneak up on him at such a precise moment.

Then all of a sudden, Damien’s eyes widened when he thought of something, ’Wait! All this time, I’ve been thinking that it was Sky Stealer because I’ve been so sure that only he can go against me. I’ve been belittling everyone else, and too conceited to see past myself!

’Furthermore, my arrogance has blinded me, and I even started to suspect the Heavenly Justice...’ A chill ran down Damien’s spine, ’It isn’t that my abilities have failed me...I never even considered the possibility of someone else pretending to be the Sky Stealer...which means another Thief!’

The more Damien thought about this, the more he believed it was most likely the truth, and he became more furious.

’But who could that be?! Who knew these secrets that should be only known among us?! I don’t believe Sky Stealer is foolish enough to reveal these secrets, it’ll only put him at a disadvantage...and for a moment, I can sense that person was really Sky Stealer because of that loathsome presence of Heaven’s Stealer...

’Then how did he do it?’ Damien’s mind raced as his eyes suddenly shifted and looked behind Prosperity Matriarch.

’Ace’ was enveloped in an invisible barrier of Prosperity Matriarch, and all this time, he has been dragged along because Prosperity Matriarch didn’t dare to leave him behind, since he wasn’t the center of their attention.

Nonetheless, Ace didn’t mind because they were wasting time, and he was happy about it and even cheered for Prosperity Matriarch to continue dragging this on as he had already sensed that this woman was too narrow-minded to see past herself and wouldn’t believe so easily.

However, at this moment, Damien’s piercing gaze suddenly startled Ace, while his avatar’s eyes remained unfocused still. But for some reason, Ace had a bad feeling about this.

Damien’s golden eyes blaze like the sun as it finally struck him at this moment, ’The Sky Stealer has a helper, and that helper is...him!’

Without hesitation or having any intention of conforming or telling the Prosperity Matriarch about his conjecture, he activated the second ability of Judgment Field.

”Judgment Field: Scales of Balance!”
