The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2510: ... to worse

”I need to finish him!”

Anark glanced toward Robuke, whose skull was still in the process of reconstructing itself. Flesh and bone twisted together grotesquely as the vitality of the Worlds of the Root poured into the Monster of the Root, restoring him piece by piece.

Killing intent erupted from the True Primordial of the Void.

But before Anark could make his move, Jason was already upon him.

The middle-aged hybrid twisted through the air, generating momentum and unleashing a ferocious kick.

Anark barely managed to block it with his forearms.

The impact sent a violent tremor through his entire body. His arm shook uncontrollably, and a flash of pain shot through his eyes.

Jason smiled.

”I may be older than Elizabeth,” the hybrid said casually, ”but you shouldn’t look down on me.”

His grin widened as he twisted midair and sent another kick downward with brutal speed.

Anark managed to dodge the strike, and he realized just how fortunate that was.

The moment Jason’s foot struck the ground, the entire landmass beneath them collapsed.

The upper layer of the Worlds of the Root was already suffering horrific damage. Massive fractures spread across the corrupted continent as entire regions began to crumble into the layers below.

Yet Jason didn’t seem to care in the slightest.

It was strange.

The man appeared to be helping the forces of the Root by protecting Robuke, but at the same time he showed absolutely no concern for the destruction of the world itself.

Unfortunately for Anark, he had no time to ponder the hybrid’s true intentions.

He surged forward instantly.

His fist shot toward Jason’s chest with overwhelming power.

The blow landed.

Jason’s body was blasted backward through the sky, blood spraying from his mouth.

But despite the damage, the hybrid regained control almost immediately. Within seconds he had already stabilized himself and rushed back into battle as though nothing had happened.

The clash between the True Primordial of the Void and the hybrid only grew more violent.

Shockwaves rolled across the battlefield with every exchange of blows.

The devastation was so extreme that they had already carved multiple holes through the upper layer of the Worlds of the Root, exposing the dark and corrupted realm beneath.

Under normal circumstances, that would have been excellent news for the alliance.

But Anark felt no relief.

Because he sensed it.

A massive surge of wrathful energy erupted in the distance.

His eyes turned immediately.

Robuke had risen.

The True Primordial of the Void clenched his teeth as he felt the burning gaze of the Monster of the Root lock onto him.

The pressure of facing two terrifying opponents at the same time weighed heavily upon him.

But something unexpected happened.

Instead of flying toward Anark—

Robuke turned his gaze toward another battlefield.

It was the front where the Champions and High Lords of the Root were fighting against the alliance’s strongest warriors.

A cold, wicked smile appeared on the monster’s face.

Anark’s eyes widened.

”You coward!” he roared in fury.

Robuke’s smile only grew wider.

With a powerful flap of his bat-like wings, the Monster of the Root shot into the sky and ascended upon the battlefield like a living catastrophe.

His axe flashed.

One of the Runic War Avatars was instantly pierced and torn apart.

The massive construct exploded into fragments as the force of the attack annihilated many powerful warriors inside it. Bodies were shredded, limbs thrown into the air as the monstrous axe carved through everything in its path.

”YOU DAMN COWARD!” Anark roared again, his heart burning with rage.

But he couldn’t move.

Jason’s fist was already crashing toward him.

The hybrid’s earlier smile had vanished. His eyes briefly glanced in Robuke’s direction, and clear disdain flashed across his face.

Yet he still blocked Anark’s path.

Robuke’s grin widened as he realized he was free to act.

He swung his axe in a brutal arc, cutting down several powerful warriors who had survived the destruction of the Runic War Avatar.

The Monster of the Root felt like a wolf among chickens.

And he intended to savor every moment.

Concepts like honor meant nothing to him.

Why fight the strongest enemies first when he could slaughter the weak?

But just as he prepared to continue the massacre—

A halberd covered in blazing scarlet flames descended from the sky.

Robuke raised his axe to block it.

The clash echoed across the battlefield.

The Monster of the Root narrowed his eyes as he looked at the attacker.

It was Leonidas.

The Knight of the Scarlet Throne stood before him, his armor blazing with the power of the Scarlet Path.

Leonidas knew perfectly well that he was no match for Robuke.

Even wounded, the Monster of the Root was far beyond him.

But that did not matter.

As long as the Scarlet King lived, Leonidas would never truly die. Even if his body were destroyed, he could eventually return.

And if sacrificing his vessel meant protecting his people—

Then he would do so without hesitation.

Even if it meant sleeping in darkness for millions of years.

The determination and courage shining in the Knight’s eyes only made Robuke’s fury burn hotter.

With a roar, the monster knocked the halberd aside and swung his axe.

Leonidas raised his shield to block.

The impact still blasted him across the battlefield, sending him flying through the air as every bone in his body trembled from the force.

But before even a second had passed, the knight twisted his body mid-flight, dispersing the excess energy before charging back toward the monster.

”Fine, little ant,” Robuke snarled. ”I’ll crush you first!”

With another powerful flap of his wings, the Monster of the Root rushed forward and smashed directly into the Knight of the Scarlet Throne.

The collision blasted Leonidas across the sky once again as Robuke pursued him relentlessly.

Far away, Meylin could see everything happening within the Worlds of the Root.

But she couldn’t return.

Her opponent was simply too fast.

Every exchange pushed Meylin to her limits.

Even worse, the woman’s attacks didn’t merely damage her body—they interfered with the regenerative abilities of her True Depravita Constitution, slowing the recovery of her wounds.

Meanwhile, the situation for the rest of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance began to deteriorate rapidly.

Leonidas had been one of the central pillars of the battle formation that was keeping the High Lords of the Root contained.

Without him, the structure of the formation began to collapse.

More and more wounds appeared among the alliance warriors as the pressure from the enemy increased.

”BOOOOOOM!”

As if things weren’t already bad enough, a massive explosion erupted from deep within the Worlds of the Root.

The entire corrupted realm trembled.

Enormous streams of fire burst upward from the planet’s core.

Mikela had finally recovered her battle power.

Just as she had done when she forced Cain away all those years ago, the Warlock of the Root began channeling the life force of the Worlds of the Root itself.

Her eyes glowed with murderous light as she fixed her gaze upon the main army of the alliance.

Around her, enormous dragons of living fire began to manifest—vast, terrifying entities formed from the burning essence of the Root.

And they were ready to ascend upon the battlefield.
