Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 257: Chapter 257: It concerns the entire group, how can we act recklessly?

Yunyi politely smiled and nodded at him. ”Yes, I am Chuyunyi. Please look after me in the future.”

Doctor Qiu seemed somewhat unwilling to believe and asked, ”Wait, how old are you? Do you even understand medical skills?”

Yunyi didn’t get angry. Instead, she just smiled. ”Why don’t you test me?”

Qiao Shaoguo hadn’t told Qiu Yonggang about what happened on the mountain. He only mentioned that the doctor replacing Ji Rongjia had some matters to attend to and would arrive a few days late.

Qiao Wenyu said, somewhat displeased, ”Doctor Qiu, you can’t judge a book by its cover. More importantly, you shouldn’t assume that just because Chu Zhiqing is young, her medical skills are lacking.”

Doctor Qiu glared at Qiao Wenyu. ”What do you know? This is the clinic! It concerns the health of everyone in the Agricultural Reclamation Group. How can we be so reckless?”

After speaking, he looked at Yunyi. ”You, come with me.”

Yunyi actually felt more respect for this Doctor Qiu. His responsible attitude truly impressed her. With such a colleague, future work probably wouldn’t be a chaotic mess.

Doctor Qiu was a former military doctor who had transferred to this post. He approached the medical profession with extreme conscientiousness.

What he hadn’t expected was that after a round of questioning, he was overjoyed. He couldn’t believe that fellow Qiao Shaoguo had actually done something right for once! This girl, despite her youth, possessed undeniable medical skills. It was clear she might even be superior to him.

Doctor Qiu stood up and extended his hand. ”Doctor Chu, welcome to the Hua’an Farm Reclamation Clinic.”

Yunyi also smiled and stood up. ”I’ll be in your care from now on.”

Doctor Qiu was all smiles. ”I wouldn’t dare presume to ’look after’ you. Let’s learn from each other and improve together.”

The office door hadn’t been closed, so the people outside heard their conversation clearly.

The drastic change in Doctor Qiu’s attitude was indeed astonishing. Previously, his disdainful expression made it seem like he thought he’d been tricked. Now, with such a joyful face, he was like a different person, practically bursting to laugh out loud.

Upon leaving the office, Doctor Qiu said, ”Doctor Chu, just as Chief Qiao arranged, take a day off first. Familiarize yourself with our Agricultural Reclamation Group, and then report for duty the day after tomorrow.”

Remembering something, he called out to a person approaching from a short distance, ”Nurse Chen, could you come here for a moment?”

Chen Xiaojuan hurried over. ”Doctor Qiu, what is it?”

Doctor Qiu introduced with a smile, ”This is the new Doctor Chu. In a little while, please take her to Sister Cui to get a white coat.”

Chen Xiaojuan smiled at Yunyi. ”Hello, Doctor Chu. I’m Chen Xiaojuan, a nurse here.”

Yunyi nodded at her. ”Hello. I’ll have to trouble you to take me there in a bit then.”

Chen Xiaojuan was a shy young woman. ”It’s no trouble at all. I’ll take you there right now.”

After bidding Doctor Qiu farewell, Yunyi followed Nurse Chen towards the back.

From Chen Xiaojuan, Yunyi learned that including herself, the newcomer, the clinic had a total of six staff members: two doctors, two nurses, one pharmacist, and one person in logistics.

Although it was called a clinic, the place wasn’t small. The front row of buildings contained the consultation rooms, an office, and an on-call room. The main building in the back row served as the ward. The east wing housed the pharmacy, and the west wing was where logistics was handled.

Sister Cui was very welcoming and directly handed Yunyi two white coats. ”Doctor Chu, here are two white coats for you. Please take them.”

After a few brief pleasantries, Yunyi then left with Qiao Wenyu and Wei Zijia.

She also learned from them that the fieldwork for the Agricultural Reclamation Group had finished. Next, they were scheduled to start building a reservoir. However, the Group was currently on a break for a few days, with tomorrow being the last day. This provided a perfect opportunity for them to show her around and help her get familiar with the place.

The two of them escorted Yunyi back to her small courtyard and didn’t stay long. ”Get some good rest. We’ll come find you tomorrow.”
