“Now, I can see that that old thing Wei Yihua really can’t take it anymore. This person called Master Lin should have some skills, but it’s not to the extent that we must be afraid of him. I’m guessing Wei Yihua is so afraid of him because he’s not as strong as him.”

Wang Shuguang nodded and said,

“But we’re different. We’ve already reached a level that can make him wary. That’s why he’s so respectful when there’s a conflict.”

“I really overestimated that old thing, Wei Yihua.” Bai Yongshou sighed. “If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have eaten with him just now. It makes my heart ache.”

“That’s right. He made the other party sound like a behemoth, but in reality, he’s nothing much. If we hadn’t met him coincidentally today, we might have been swayed by him and wouldn’t dare to take any further action.”

“Indeed. When you weren’t around just now, I kept thinking about this, but I couldn’t make a decision. Now, there’s nothing to be afraid of,” Bai Yongshou said with a smile.

“With his age and experience, he has to obediently call me senior when facing me.”

“Brother Bai is right. Then do we still need to invite him out for a meal now?”

“Of course. No matter what, he has a certain power in Zhonghai. It won’t do us any harm to be on good terms with him,” Bai Yongshou said.

“Moreover, he gave us so much face just now. We can’t be too stingy. We can treat him to a meal when we have the time. Then, we’ll get to know each other.”

“I understand.”

Bai Yongshou stretched lazily. “Alright, that’s all for now. You can arrange the rest yourself. I’ll sleep first.”

“Okay.”

…

Of course, at night, the four of them drank until one in the morning. They did not go home and went to the Peninsula Hotel together to rest for the night.

The next morning, when Lin Yi opened his eyes, he received a WeChat message from Li Chuhan.

“If it’s convenient, come to the hospital to change your dressing.”

Lin Yi smiled when he saw the concise message.

Then, he called Wang Tianlong and asked him to arrange for the kitchen to make some desserts for Li Chuhan.

Then, Lin Yi got up, washed up, and went to the hospital with the desserts theyhad made.

As usual, every time Lin Yi came here, he would be warmly welcomed by the nurses.

Other than Lin Yi’s influence in the hospital, it was also due to their friendship.

Sometimes, when these young nurses faced difficulties at home, they would seek Lin Yi’s help, and he was never stingy to assist if he could.

“Director Lin, what delicious treats did you bring us today?” Asked a nurse with a B cup.

“Special afternoon tea sets from Peninsula Hotel, one for each of you. Come and get yours.”

“Wow, Peninsula Hotel’s afternoon tea is way fancier than Starbucks. Thank you, Director Lin, muah!”

“Director Li is out on a clinic visit today, and here you all are, flirting with Director Lin. Are you tired of living?” The head nurse said.

“And don’t think I’m not included. Be careful, or I’ll dock your bonuses this month.”

“Haha…”

“Director Li is out on a clinic visit?”

Lin Yi was momentarily speechless. He had come right after receiving the WeChat message but had forgotten about her clinic visit.

“Yes, but Director Li has started limiting her appointments recently, only taking twenty per day. She should be back soon.”

“Alright, I’ll wait then.” Lin Yi wasn’t in a hurry. He sat at the nurse station, chatting and laughing with the young nurses.

About half an hour later, Li Chuhan and Qiao Xin came out of the elevator.

Whenever Li Chuhan went on clinic visits, she always took Qiao Xin along.

For a doctor, clinical experience was paramount.

During this time, Qiao Xin had learned a lot from Li Chuhan and made significant progress with her efforts.

“Brother Lin.”

Seeing Lin Yi, Qiao Xin quickened her pace.

“What delicious treats did you bring us this time?”

“Afternoon tea from Peninsula Hotel. Try it.”

“Hehe, then I won’t hold back. I’ve been working all morning and I’m starving.”

Qiao Xin didn’t hesitate and started eating the beautifully presented pastries at the nurse station.

“How’s the wound? Is it very painful?”

“I don’t feel much anymore, but I can’t do any strenuous activities.”

“The internal healing is probably complete, just waiting for the outer layer to heal,” Li Chuhan said.

“But with the hot weather lately, it could affect the healing process and increase the risk of infection. Let’s continue with some anti-inflammatory injections.”

“Is that really necessary? I think I’m fine.”

“Better to be safe and continue for a few more days,” Li Chuhan said gently.

“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Li Chuhan smiled softly. “Let’s go, I’ll check your wound.”

“Okay.”

The three of them went to the ward.

Li Chuhan removed the bandage and gauze to check Lin Yi’s wound.

“Brother Lin, your recovery is amazing. It’s only been a few days, and you’re already this far along. Most people would need at least a week to reach this stage.”

“Being young helps with faster recovery.”

Lin Yi didn’t elaborate, knowing that his quick recovery was due to the system’s enhancements to his body, not just his youth.

“But you still need to be careful and avoid strenuous activities.”

“Don’t worry, I understand.”

Qiao Xin swiftly changed Lin Yi’s dressing and set up his IV drip. Once the medication was administered, there was nothing else to worry about.

“You all go ahead and take care of your duties. Don’t spend all your time on me.”

“You rest here for a while. I’ll go check on the other patients.”

“Alright, go ahead.”

After they left, Lin Yi lay down on the bed, planning to use this time to think about a gift.

His future mother-in-law’s birthday was coming up, and that needed to be prioritized.

Ring, ring, ring!

As he was looking for gifts, Lin Yi received a call from Yan Ci.

“President Lin, what are you busy with?”

Yan Ci’s voice was sweet and delicate over the phone.

“Calling me President Lin right off the bat, this can’t be good news.”

“You really don’t appreciate good things. I’m speaking nicely to you, and yet you suspect my motives.”

“So, you have no business with me?”

“Hehe…”

Yan Ci laughed. “Actually, I do have a favor to ask.”

“See, I knew it. Go ahead, what is it?”

“You have to promise me first, then I’ll tell you,” Yan Ci said coquettishly.

“Alright, alright, I promise. Just tell me already.”

Lin Yi had no choice; women seemed to all have this trick up their sleeve, except for Li Chuhan.

“Did you use to work at Huashan Hospital?”

“Is there someone in your family who needs medical attention?”
