Chapter 2010: A Head Delivered to the Door

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

“Brother Lin, we know what’s going on,” Liang Jinming said, putting an arm around Lin Yi’s shoulder.

“Come on, let’s have some fun. Tonight, we’re not leaving until we’re drunk.”

Finally, Gao Zongyuan parked the car in the parking lot and found a spot.

“Why park an Alphard here? Don’t they know how cheap their car is?” Someone muttered nearby.

“In a place like Modu, if you’re not driving a supercar worth over three million yuan, it’s better not to come. It’s just embarrassing,”

At that moment, the doors of the Alphard opened, and Lin Yi, Qin Han, and their friends stepped out.

The surrounding chatter abruptly stopped.

“Oh my god, it’s Master Lin and Master Qin! I can’t believe we get to see them at Modu. This is incredible!”

“Why are you so excited? Who are they?”

“They’re the most famous second-generation rich kids in Zhonghai, worth billions. Especially the most handsome one, Master Lin. I heard one of his cars is worth over a hundred million. He’s one of the top in the country.”

“Wow, seriously? Not only is he handsome, but he’s also super rich?”

“Now you know. These are the top-tier rich kids of Zhonghai.”

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go in and take a look. If we can hook up with someone like that, we will hit the jackpot tonight.”

Their arrival instantly made them the focus of the bar.

Once they were seated in a booth, many women approached them, making the atmosphere lively.

But Lin Yi wasn’t interested in the women. He slowly sipped his cocktail, enjoying the rare relaxation.

Just then, Lin Yi’s gaze happened to fall on the entrance, where he saw four men walk in.

To his surprise, the one leading them was Li Qiao, whom he had met earlier that day.

Judging by his demeanor, it seemed like Li Qiao was hosting the group.

Lin Yi frowned slightly, holding his glass.

Given their family’s current situation, Li Qiao shouldn’t have the mindset to be bar-hopping.

Moreover, with his grandfather’s cash frozen, he couldn’t spend any of it.

Showing up in a place with a minimum spend of a thousand yuan per person seemed out of place for him.

“Brother Lin, what are you looking at? Keep drinking,” Liang Jinming called out loudly.

“I saw someone I know. You guys go ahead, I’ll hang out elsewhere for a bit.”

Their table was too conspicuous. If Li Qiao spotted him, it wouldn’t be good for the case.

Lin Yi took his drink upstairs and observed the situation downstairs.

Though he couldn’t hear their conversation, it was clear that Li Qiao was being very polite to the other three, almost subservient.

His behavior seemed quite odd.

After watching for a while, Lin Yi decided this wasn’t a viable approach, so he called Liang Jinming.

He planned to have a server discreetly keep an eye on Li Qiao’s group and gather any useful information.

Unexpectedly, Lin Yi’s first two calls went unanswered.

He looked downstairs and noticed Qin Han and the others were gone, leaving behind a messy table with bottles and snacks.

Frowning, Lin Yi muttered to himself, “Where did those three idiots go?”

Just then, his phone rang. Liang Jinming was calling back.

“Brother Lin, what’s up?”

“Where did you three go? You’re not at the table.”

“The bar had two unruly people come in, so we came out to handle it.”

“Unruly people?” Lin Yi’s expression slightly changed.

“What’s the matter? Take your time and tell me.”

“The bar manager reported to me that someone was selling contraband here. The three of us are going to handle it. You go about your business; it’s a small matter. We can handle it ourselves.”

“Alright, I’ll go take a look,” Lin Yi said. “Where are you?”

“The security room on the third floor. If you don’t know where it is, ask the waiter to take you up.”

“Okay, I got it.”

Lin Yi responded and placed his empty wine glass aside before heading toward the third floor.

At the top of the stairs, diagonally opposite was the security room. Lin Yi pushed the door open and entered.

Qin Han and Gao Zongyuan were sitting on the sofa, while Liang Jinming was seated at the desk, looking displeased.

In front of them stood two men in vests. They were dressed ordinarily and looked unremarkable.

Their sneaky expressions, however, made them seem somewhat sleazy.

“Is it these two?”

Liang Jinming nodded in response.

“Come on, guys, there’s no need for this. We’re all in the same game, everyone knows how it works. Let’s leave each other some room; there’s money for everyone to make.”

The blonde-haired man spoke. Despite being caught red-handed, he remained indifferent and didn’t take the four of them seriously.

“How many grams in total?” Lin Yi asked.

Liang Jinming turned around, touched the table, and threw a small bag to Lin Yi.

Lin Yi weighed it in his hand and estimated it to be around 50 grams.

Regardless of anything else, it was definitely enough for a conviction.

Lin Yi turned his head to look at the two men. “You’ve both been caught, don’t you think it’s time to come clean?”

“What do you want us to confess? The stuff is right there. We’re all familiar with this scene; there’s no need for this,” said the blonde man with a shrug, indifferent.

“And my boss is Wang Shuguang. You guys are in the game too, you must have heard of him. I don’t need to say more, do I?”

“Wang Shuguang?” Qin Han muttered, evidently familiar with the name.

“You know this person?” Lin Yi asked.

“Not very well, I just know he’s a big shot, quite famous in Zhonghai.”

“Is he as formidable as Wei Yihua?”

“They aren’t really comparable,” Qin Han said.

“Wei Yihua is an old big shot in Zhonghai, but recently, he’s been rumored to have retired and moved into a lot of legitimate business. This Wang Shuguang guy is a new face in Zhonghai, said to be ruthless with a criminal record. He’s a cutthroat.”

“Damn, while I was away, these scoundrels really started to come out of the woodwork.”

“When the cat’s away, the mice will play,” Liang Jinming said, lighting a cigarette and looking at Lin Yi.

“Brother Lin, you’re the expert here. You handle this.”

“Get a few people to watch them and call the police. When the time comes, we can send you a couple of banners and stir up some publicity. Such an easy catch, we shouldn’t waste it.”

“Got it.”

“What are you doing? For something this minor, you’re actually going to call the police?”

The two men’s faces changed. They had thought that mentioning Wang Shuguang would settle the matter.

But they hadn’t expected these people to be relentless and even call the police!

If they got caught, it would be a real problem!
