Li Xianghui and Gu Yiran were surprised, and so were the others present.

This was the most basic training subject, just like how 1+1 = 2. There was nothing behind this at all.

He did not expect him to ask such a stupid question in order to avoid the test!

“This kid is really something. Does he not use his brain before he speaks?” Zhou Xinghai said.

“I don’t think we will need to wait a week. I reckon he’s going to pack up and leave today.”

Not only Zhou Xinghai and Ding Chao, but even some of the girls present felt that Lin Yi had gone too far.

This was the most basic skill. It was absolutely necessary. Otherwise, how could he qualify to be a police officer?

Although women are often considered to be attracted to appearances, they dislike men who are sly or slick even more.

Lin Yi’s actions successfully aroused their displeasure.

“This is the most basic training subject. It tests your reflexes. When a suspect is armed, you must be able to react immediately.”

Gu Yiran thought it through and did not get angry at all.

In any case, he could not escape today. She could just toy with him slowly.

“But I think there’s no need to resort to such methods,” Lin Yi said.

“There seem to be other ways to solve the problem as well.”

Li Xianghui looked at Lin Yi with interest, wondering what he was up to.

However, he had also thought it through. If Lin Yi could face this training subject head-on, it wouldn’t be a problem.

However, if he showed signs of backing down from the challenge, he could not be kept on.

“Then I’d like to know how you intend to do this.”

Gu Yiran said with a smile, as if she had Lin Yi right in her grasp.

“Try it and you’ll know.”

“Then come over and get ready, let me see what you’ve got,” Gu Yiran said.

“I’ve been working here for several years and have trained several groups of people, but you’re the first one I’ve seen who dares to question our training material.”

“Let’s give it a try then.”

Lin Yi leisurely walked up to Gu Yiran, ready to undergo the training.

“Go for it, Lin, don’t be nervous. Even if you get hit in the legs, it won’t hurt. After a few tries, you’ll no longer be afraid,” Zhang Peng said.

“Thanks.”

“Are you ready?” Gu Yiran asked.

“Alright, we can start at any time!”

Just like before, Gu Yiran gave an order and swung the plastic stick at Lin Yi’s leg.

Everyone was gloating, waiting to see Lin Yi make a fool of himself.

However, Lin Yi didn’t jump. He looked at the plastic stick and raised his right foot…

He stomped down hard!

BANG!

Lin Yi stepped on the stick in Gu Yiran’s hand!

No matter how hard she pulled, there was no sign of it loosening!

How was this possible?!

The onlookers, including Li Xianghui and Gu Yiran, were stunned.

He actually stepped on the stick!

Moreover, despite Instructor Gu’s strength, she couldn’t pull it out!

“Instructor Gu, what do you think of my skill?” Lin Yi said.

“With this, I’ll still have two hands and one leg free. I can do something else.”

“Let go!”

“Look, look. Let’s talk nicely. Why are you shouting at me? Even if you’re my boss, you can’t do this. Isn’t this gender discrimination?”

What gender discrimination?

“Alright, Lin Yi, come down.”

As he spoke, Li Xianghui’s expression was calm, but his heart was in turmoil.

This kid’s reflexes were too fast, and he was quite strong. There was a soft cushion on the ground, yet she couldn’t pull out the plastic stick when he was stepping on it. He had some skills.

“That was so cool. He’s like an action star in a movie.”

“I feel that this method is much better than jumping and falling to the ground. Practicing this move makes more sense.”

“Alright, stop talking.” Li Xianghui said.

“People are different. Even if he can do it, you might not be able to. This is the most suitable basic skill for everyone to learn. Don’t worry about anything else.”

“Understood!” Everyone replied in unison.

“Now, you will train in pairs, grouped by your dormitory units.”

“Yes!”

The training then shifted to a two-person format, with Li Xianghui and Gu Yiran supervising on the side. If there were any movements that weren’t up to standard, they would step in to correct them.

“How did you feel just now?” Li Xianghui asked softly.

“I’m just not feeling well, so I couldn’t use my full strength. Otherwise, I could easily pull it out.”

Li Xianghui smiled. “But from the side, I can tell that his reflexes are quite fast. With proper training, he’ll be a promising candidate.”

“No way, you want to train him?” Gu Yiran said.

“One look and I can tell he’s a prick. I wanted to kick him out.”

“He hasn’t done anything wrong, so treating him this way is wrong on your part.”

“Well, that will still depend on whether his later training meets the standards.”

Li Xianghui nodded, “I feel like I can’t be wrong about him, he should do well.”

“Hmph, we’ll see about that. You’re definitely going to be proven wrong.”

Li Xianghui smiled. He felt that the relationship between these two people was deeper than it looked.

About an hour later, everyone had practiced well and their spirits were high.

What’s most interesting is that Li Xianghui noticed, after the first round was over, Lin Yi and his partner Zhang Peng also performed the jumping and falling action. They didn’t practice in the way he had shown, almost as if they were opposing Gu Yiran just like earlier.

“Gather!”

Li Xianghui blew the whistle and gathered everyone together.

“Take a ten-minute break before we start training for the next subject!”

Everyone cheered. Some of them rested on the spot, while others went to buy water and wantonly enjoyed the rare moment of relaxation.

“Instructor Gu, Instructor Li, have some water.”

Zhou Xinghai handed over the water he had bought.

“There’s no need. We brought our own.” Li Xianghui said.

“Give it to the other students. In the future, you’ll be on the same team. You have to help each other.”

It seemed like a polite greeting, but Li Xianghui was actually advising Zhou Xinghai.

Don’t put your energy into being solicitous. Train well.

“It’s fine. I bought some for everyone,” Zhou Xinghai said.

“I’m all about team unity. It’s not like me to hog all the benefits for myself.”

The two of them had no choice but to take the drink from Zhou Xinghai with a smile.

“Fourth Brother, split the things,” Zhou Xinghai said to Ding Chao.

“Sure thing.”

Seeing that there was free mineral water and coke, the trainees all happily accepted and thanked Zhou Xinghai.

“Thanks for the drinks.”

“There’s no need to be so polite. We’re all in the same team. Helping out a little is nothing,” Zhou Xinghai said with a smile.

In the end, when it was Lin Yi’s turn, Zhou Xinghai pretended to be surprised.

“Oh, Lin Yi, I’m really sorry. I miscalculated and forgot to buy one for you.”

Gu Yiran and Li Xianghui looked at Zhou Xinghai and frowned.

“It’s fine. My roommate went to buy some.”

At this moment, Zhang Peng returned with two bottles of mineral water, one of which he handed to Lin Yi.

“Brother Lin, here you go.”

“Thanks. It’s a hot day.”

“Lin Yi, don’t drink mineral water. It doesn’t quench your thirst. Have some iced Coke,” a female student came over and said.

“This is the Red Bull I just bought. Drink it to replenish your energy.” Another girl ran over and said.

“This is the mung bean water I brought to relieve the heat. This is for you.”

“And mine. It’s brown sugar water with jujubes and wolfberries in it. Drink it.”

Lin Yi was speechless.

Mung bean water was okay, but what was with this brown sugar water with wolfberries?!

How many years has my uncle been dead?©
