After saying that, Ma San hung up the phone and continued eating his breakfast.

“Third Master, do we need to make another move? Will the other party submit so quickly if we just destroy some equipment?”

“This should be enough. The mainlanders are different from us Shianggangers. They’re timid. If we scare them like this, they’ll immediately understand how powerful we are.” Ma Sanxian chewed slowly and said.

“However, what we do next depends on what President Ji says. If the other party is willing to give up the land, there won’t be a problem. If not, we’ll continue to attack. She can’t do anything to me.”

The subordinate beside him nodded and agreed with Ma San.

Whoosh!

At this moment, the two of them heard a strange sound outside the door. It was as if something had hit the door!

After pausing for a second, Ma San said to one of his men,

“Go out and see what’s going on.”

The man in black walked towards the door. The moment he opened the door, he was surprised to see the two people guarding the door lying on the ground.

They clutched their chest and groaned, unable to stand up no matter what.

Ma San didn’t panic as he looked at Lin Yi. He put down the knife and fork in his hand and examined Lin Yi.

“And you are?”

Lin Yi walked in from outside and looked at Ma San.

“You must be Ma San.”

“You know me?” Ma San raised his eyebrows. “Why are you looking for me?”

“You were the one who secretly attacked that project in the development zone, right?”

Ma San’s eyes darted around. He was a little surprised that the man in front of him had come because of this matter.

“What’s your relationship with President Ji from Chaoyang Group?”

Ma San was no fool. The man in front of him was here because of this matter. Naturally, he had a close relationship with Ji Qingyan from Chaoyang Group.

“She’s my girlfriend.”

“Oh, so that’s the relationship.”

Ma San said meaningfully, “But 1 still want to know why you came to see me.”

“I don’t really want to have a conflict with your side. We’re all businessmen, and we value harmony. Harmony makes money. 1 don’t want to have an unpleasant relationship with you.”

“Heh…”

Ma San sneered, then snorted dismissively.

“You said it yourself, we’re all businessmen. In this circle, power dictates who’s right. You coming to me with empty words probably won’t cut it.”

“Is there really no room for negotiation?”

“You took the land Huanghai Group was eyeing; we certainly won’t let it go easily.”

Ma San cut a piece of steak and placed it in his mouth. He chewed and tasted it carefully.

“Don’t talk to me about harmony and peace. No one is clean. Moreover, 1 myself was born evil. The law can’t restrain me.”

“Looks like there’s no need to talk any further.”

“Don’t say that.”

Ma San wiped his mouth and placed his knife and fork on the table.

“If you don’t want me to pursue this matter, it’s actually very simple. It all depends on whether you can meet my demands.”

“Tell me.”

Ma San pointed at the steak knife by the table with his chin.

“Leave behind one hand, and I, Ma San, will promise you we won’t compete for this project anymore.”

Lin Yi’s gaze landed on the knife on the table.

“Okay.”

In the president’s office of Chaoyang Group.

On her desk was the blueprint that had just been delivered to her.

Around her, many of the company’s executives and engineers were analyzing the details of the blueprints to consider modifications.

She didn’t want to leave anything out about the new project. She wanted every detail to be perfect.

Even if they ended up failing, at least they could say with a clear conscience that they had tried their best.

Ring ring ring!

Just as they were discussing the blueprints, the landline on Ji Qingyan’s desk rang. It was her secretary.

“President Ji, President Li of Huanghai Group wants to meet you.”

“Li Huaxing is here?”

Li Huaxing’s visit surprised not only Ji Qingyan, but also the other executives of the corporation.

The two companies had just had a fierce competition and conflict. In the end, Chaoyang Group obtained that piece of land. The two companies should have nothing more to do with each other. Why did he come to the company?

“We’ll stop here for now. You guys can go back first.”

“Then we’ll get going first.”

The company’s executives said their goodbyes and left her office.

Then, the latter said to the secretary,

“Bring him to my office.”

After hanging up, Ji Qingyan clasped her hands together and rested her chin on them as she seriously considered Li Huaxing’s intentions.

Lin Yi had already resolved yesterday’s matter. Could it be because of this?

Logically speaking, things shouldn’t be that bad.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the office door, and the secretary walked in.

“President Ji, President Li of Huanghai Group is here.”

Behind the secretary stood a middle-aged man. He was plump and wore a black suit with a 70-30 haircut. He didn’t look very special.

The only good feature was that his expression was still kind.

“President Ji, we meet again.”

Upon entering Ji Qingyan’s office, Li Huaxing extended his hand. The latter did the same, shaking hands as a form of greeting.

Compared to Ma San, Li Huaxing is more like a businessman. He lacked the bandit-like aura of Ma San, but he gave off the vibe of a smiling tiger, making him seem quite cunning.

“President Li, this way please.”

Ji Qingyan led Li Huaxing to the sofa. The secretary poured two glasses of water and sat to the side, waiting for Ji Qingyan’s next instructions.

“President Ji, I came here this time mainly to talk to you about the development area project,” Li Huaxing said politely.

“The bidding has already ended, and the project is about to start. There shouldn’t be any more room for discussion on this matter, right?”

“There is. It depends on whether President Ji is willing to talk to me.”

Ji Qingyan paused for a moment, her keen business instincts telling her that Li Huaxing’s visit wouldn’t be without reason. He must have other backing.

Otherwise, given his status, it would be out of character for him to do this.

“Then let’s talk openly.”

Ji Qingyan knew that this could not be a friendly business negotiation. There had to be something else that she did not know.

Therefore, she couldn’t sense the atmosphere of a sincere negotiation on her part, only wanting to understand Li Huaxing’s real purpose for this visit.

“As far as I know, the project has already started, but it doesn’t seem to be going too smoothly. This should be the case.”

Hearing Li Huaxing’s words, Ji Qingyan smiled.

“Regarding the events of yesterday, I’ve gathered some information. I believe those who were causing trouble under false pretenses must have some ties to President Li..”
