Clang! Clang! Clang!

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

“Brother Lin, there’s someone at the door.”

Xiao Bing, who was washing up, said.

“Got it.”

Lin Yi got off the bed calmly.

He had already guessed who was knocking on the door.

As expected, when he opened the door, there was no one outside, just a SF Express document bag.

It was the same familiar formula and scent; it was always SF Express.

Lin Yi began to wonder if the system in his head was developed by SF Express.

“Who knocked on the door?” Xiao Bing asked casually.

“There’s no one outside. Maybe the person knocked on the wrong door.”

“Uh-huh.”

Lin Yi took the document and returned to the bed.

Inside was information about his new profession.

His workplace would be the Xinshan Branch, and he would be at the rank of rookie.

Lin Yi still had some impression of the Xinshan District. Although it was in Zhonghai, it was part of the suburbs and was not as developed as the city.

The induction time was 9 a.m. the day after. At the time, he had to participate in induction training.

He had been given one day to prepare.

Putting the relevant documents and procedures aside, Lin Yi got up and stretched, preparing to go back to work.

“Brother Lin, I’m done. Go wash up.”

Xiao Bing was wrapped in a towel as she wiped her hair.

Lin Yi nodded and went into the bathroom to wash up.

When he came out, he found Xiao Bing holding the files and materials, looking at him suspiciously.

“Brother Lin, are you going to be a police officer?”

“1 want to go experience what it’s like.”

“With your skills, being a police officer at this point is equivalent to a wolf entering a flock of sheep. Who among those people can be your match?”

“I have nothing to do anyway. I’ll just treat it as killing time.”

“I want to go too. Bring me along.”

“Why are you getting involved in this?”

“It’s mainly because I don’t have much to do. 1 can learn something from you and improve myself.”

“Stay at home. Don’t come with me.”

“Fine.”

After cleaning up, the two of them checked out of the hotel, had some breakfast, and parted ways.

When Lin Yi arrived at Chaoyang Group, it was already past three in the afternoon.

As soon as he drove to the parking lot, he saw Ji Qingyan and two executives of the company rushing out of the car whilst talking non-stop.

Beep beep beep!

Hearing someone honking, Ji Qingyan turned her head and saw that Lin Yi had returned.

A hint of joy immediately appeared on her anxious face as she walked towards him.

“You’re always like this. You didn’t even tell me you were coming back.”

“1 just wanted to give you a surprise.” Lin Yi smiled.

“What’s up with you guys? Why are you in such a hurry?”

“Let’s not talk about it.” She ran her fingers through her hair.

“Before the New Year, didn’t I mention we were preparing to transition into commercial real estate? The piece of land the group bought is currently undergoing relocation, and we’ve run into some trouble, so I’m going over to take a look.”

“Trouble? What kind of trouble could there be?”

“That plot of land in the development zone was acquired from someone else at a high price. 1 suspect the other party is not happy about it, so they’ve come to cause trouble.”

Lin Yi thought for a few seconds. “The other company shouldn’t be based in Zhonghai, right?”

From Lin Yi’s point of view, if the competitor was a local company, they wouldn’t dare to compete with Chaoyang Group. The only possibility was that it was a company from another province.

The other party would not have the guts to do such a thing because of the situation in Zhonghai.

“It’s a company from Shianggang. They want to enter the mainland, so the competition is quite fierce.”

“Let them go back first. I’ll go with you to take a look.”

“Mhmm.”

Ji Qingyan had the same thought. With Lin Yi around, there was no need for these executives to follow them.

“You guys go back first. We’ll handle this matter.”

“Got it, President Ji.”

After a brief explanation, Ji Qingyan got into Lin Yi’s car and drove towards the construction site.

Less than an hour later, Lin Yi drove to Xinpu Development Zone in Zhonghai.

Compared to the urban areas, this place is somewhat lacking, but it was only temporary.

During a meal with Lu Beichen over the New Year period, the latter had shared some information about this.

The country has approved the construction of a new economic development zone in Zhonghai, and would vigorously support it.

Although it didn’t look eye-catching now, with Zhonghai’s rate of development, it would be as prosperous as the city center in at most five years.

When they arrived at the development zone, Lin Yi followed Ji Qingyan’s instructions and drove to the project site.

When they arrived, they found that many people surrounded the construction site.

“President Ji, President Lin.”

Upon seeing Lin Yi and Ji Qingyan, a middle-aged man approached them.

The middle-aged man’s name was Guo Songnan, and he was the new project manager hired by Chaoyang Group.

Lin Yi had no impression of him, but Guo Songnan had seen him at the annual meeting of the two companies and knew who he was.

“What happened?” Lin Yi asked, wanting to understand the situation.

But before Guo Songnan could answer, a young man in a black jacket interrupted.

“You still have the cheek to ask? You demolished our house without permission. Are you going to make our family live on the streets?”

“You destroyed a house for no reason. Chaoyang Group is too overbearing,” another middle-aged woman said.

“Let me tell you, you have to give us an explanation today. Otherwise, this matter won’t end. Even if we bring this case all the way to Yanjing, we won’t let it go!”

Seeing those clamoring people, Lin Yi glanced at Guo Songnan.

“Didn’t we provide them compensation before the demolition?”

“We’ve given them everything, and our funds are sufficient; we offered a very high price. It was all settled in less than two days, but unexpectedly, they came to make trouble again!” Guo Songnan said angrily.

“Moreover, the demolition agreement is still in my hands; it wasn’t a private demolition at all.”

“Stop spouting nonsense. We weren’t even home during this time. Who did you sign the agreement with, a ghost?”

The man in the jacket cursed.

“That’s right. During this period, we’ve all been traveling and haven’t been home for more than a month. I low could we sign an agreement with you? You capitalists with no conscience are earning blood money. How can your conscience survive?!”

An old man in his eighties said.

“You were all out on a vacation? What a coincidence!”

Lin Yi raised his eyebrows.

“That’s right!” The old man held his walking stick and said unreasonably.

“Don’t worry about where we went. In short, you demolished our house without cause. You have to give us an explanation!”

Looking at the twenty people surrounding him, Lin Yi understood everything.

“Our people are here to solve this problem,” Lin Yi said slowly.

“You can’t solve the problem by shouting. Tell me what you are thinking..”
