After leaving Blue Whale Technology, Song Jiayu couldn’t calm down for a long time.

“Brother-in-law, since you even know such a big shot, wouldn’t my business be smooth sailing in the future if I just ride on your coattails?”

After thinking for a few seconds, Lin Yi nodded and said, “In theory, that’s the case.”

“Why is it a theory? With your current identity and status, who in all of Huaxia would dare to provoke you?”

“In reality, you were being unreasonable after what happened today. There was no point in us looking for him. The law wouldn’t stand on your side. The reason why I attacked him was because he was too pretentious and couldn’t stand it.” Lin Yi said.

“You’ve read ‘The Three-Body Problem,’ right? This is what’s known as a ‘dimensional strike.’ I’m stronger than you, so I can suppress you without reason, leaving you with no way to resist.

“In the future, I might encounter someone who can crush me with a flick of his wrist. By then, Lingyun Group will cease to exist. Do you understand what I mean?”

“Understood.”

“Now, with me, your sister, and me protecting you, your life will be smooth sailing. You might not even experience a ripple of pressure. However, you still have to imporve your own ability. Otherwise, you’ll eventually be chewed up.”

Song Jiayu quietly wiped her tears. “Got it, Brother-in-law. Thank you.”

“Aren’t you touched?”

“Yeah.”

“Then don’t talk nonsense about me and your Sister Bing.”

“I’ll try my best.”

“I’ll give you another 30 million.”

“Who is this Sister Bing, Sister Bang? I don’t even know who this person is.”

Lin Yi nodded in satisfaction. With her quick thinking, she could easily take care of herself in the future.

Lin Yi looked at his watch and saw that it was already past midnight. He patted Song Jiayu’s shoulder.

“Go deal with your company’s mess first. I have other things to do. I have to go to Dongsan County.”

“When you come back, don’t you have to pass by Yuhang?”

“So what?”

“I’ll treat you to a meal when I get back.” Song Jiayu bumped Lin Yi with her shoulder and said.

“I heard from your company staff that you’re a great swordsman. I’ll arrange for you to go to the best bath center in Yuhang.”

“Do you think I’ll still let you gain dirt on me so you can report it?”

Song Jiayu rolled her eyes. What a smart guy.

The two of them parted ways. Lin Yi called Xiao Bing. His car had been smashed, so he could only take her car to Dongsan County.

Half an hour later, the two of them arrived at Dongsan County.

However, before they reached the county, Xiao Bing stopped the car.

Looking over the vast expanse of the industrial park, she said, “This is indeed a great place.”

Laypeople enjoy the spectacle, but professionals see the opportunity.

In Xiao Bing’s eyes, this land seemed to hold endless hope.

“Luckily I invested with you back then, or I would have missed the chance.”

“There will be more opportunities here over the next three years, but what comes beyond that is unclear. You can focus your efforts here to gain experience, but don’t easily shift the core focus of your family’s business.”

“Got it, Brother Lin.”

“Let’s go to the county. Let’s eat lunch first before we get down to business.”

“Sure thing.”

The two of them drove to the county.

Lin Yi realized that Dongsan County had changed a lot in the two to three months he had been away, let alone compared to half a year ago.

Several buildings were under construction. There were more people coming and going, and there were lots of cars.

Moreover, people could be seen hurrying about everywhere.

Although there was not much improvement in infrastructure, the interior of the park was improving bit by bit.

This was what Lin Yi wanted to see.

After this, the two of them found a restaurant and had their lunch.

When he paid the bill, he realized that he had spent more than 60 yuan. Lin Yi calculated that the meal was at least five yuan more expensive than before!

This was the best sign that the economy was improving.

“Brother Lin, where are we going now?” Xiao Bing asked as they walked out of the restaurant.

“To the county building. It’s a walk away.”

“I remember. I think we passed it on the way here.”

“Let’s go.”

Less than five minutes later, the two of them arrived at the office building.

In the office, Li Qingkai was eating a meal he had brought from home. He held his phone and read a web novel with his other hand.

Lin Yi had complained before that he was already an adult, but he still read web novels. In the end, he was refuted by Li Qingkai.

He said that the novel he read was called “I Get a Random New Occupation Every Week”. It was the most popular online novel on the Internet.

At that time, Lin Yi didn’t believe it and looked it up out of curiosity. He immediately found the contents to be pretty good.

Most importantly, the protagonist’s experience was quite similar to his. It was very immersive.

He even tipped the author to express his support.

“All, you’re back!”

Seeing Lin Yi, Li Qingkai came up to him, “I feel like you’ve gained weight after the new year, haha…”

“It takes one to know one,” Lin Yi laughed as well.

Then, Lin Yi introduced him to Xiao Bing.

However, from Li Qingkai’s perspective, Lin Yi and girl’s relationship was definitely not ordinary.

Being good-looking was indeed different. There were many girls around him.

“Why are you alone? Where’s Sijin? Did she go out on a mission?”

“No, she was transferred to the school.”

“To the school?” Lin Yi was surprised.

“She’s the director of the Office of Poverty Alleviation. Why would she go to the school to suffer there?”

“Let’s not talk about it. A few of the teachers in the county school have resigned, and some are on strike. They don’t teach the students, so the school has no teachers left.” Li Qingkai said,

“But the children’s education can’t be neglected. The county’s leaders, along with Secretary Wang, have decided to send these university students to fill the gaps temporarily until the teacher issue is resolved, and then recall them.” “Why are they striking all of a sudden?”

“The situation in the county is improving, isn’t it? Those teachers are complaining about their low salaries and want the county to give them a raise.”

Lin Yi thought for a moment. “If I remember correctly, their salary should be 2,800 yuan a month, right? The prices in the county have increased, so it’s normal to increase their salary.”

“The county has already agreed to raise the salaries from last month, but the county’s finances have been allocated elsewhere. Moreover, the taxes from enterprises have not been collected yet for this year, so the increases have not been implemented yet.”

“In that case, it’s the county’s fault. They made a promise but failed to deliver on it, which is not acceptable.”

“It’s not like that. It’s just that we can’t pay them for the time being. When the taxes have been collected, we’ll give them what we owe them.”

“In that case, things are not so bad.”

“But they’re not satisfied.” Li Qingkai said.

“According to the county’s regulations, salaries were to be raised to 3,500, with three types of insurance provided. But they are demanding a 4,500 salary and want five types of insurance plus a housing fund.”

“All? That high?” Lin Yi expressed surprise.

“In places like Zhonghai and Yuhang, teachers only get 6,000, plus five types of insurance, and there is no talk of a housing fund.”

“No wonder it’s difficult to manage; otherwise, they wouldn’t have had to resort to sending graduates like Sijin over.”
