“Now that the problem has been resolved, there should be no need to pay attention to those people, right?”

“It’s better to be on guard. He might come and cause more trouble in the future.” Lin Yi said.

“But you don’t have to worry about this. I’ll help you keep an eye on the project. You just have to stay in the office and relax.”

Ji Qingyan’s beautiful eyes flitted back and forth over Lin Yi for quite a while.

“If you say so, I actually have a task I’d like to entrust to you, Mr. Lin. Would you consider it?”

“Why are you looking at me with such suggestive eyes? Could it be you want to become a mother? I’d gladly accept this responsibility without refusal. Let’s take action tonight, and I guarantee that in ten months, your dream of becoming a mother will come true.”

“Go away. Who said anything about this?” Ji Qingyan rolled her eyes.

“In any case, you don’t go to the company every day. You’re just messing around. Why don’t you come to my place? What do you think?”

“To your place?”

“Didn’t the company change to commercial real estate? I plan to separate the new business in this area from the other businesses in the company. Come to the company and be my vice president. You’ll be in charge of that business. That way, 1 won’t have to hire someone else.”

Ji Qingyan winked and said.

“If you had told me a day earlier, I would have agreed. I’m afraid I can’t now.”

“Huh? Why not? Aren’t you pretty free right now?”

“Who said I’m free? I’ve already found a new job.”

“Huh? New job?”

“Wait here.”

Lin Yi returned to the car and took out the ID and information the system had given him.

Upon seeing this, Ji Qingyan was stunned for a long while, her expression changing indeterminately.

“You’re a cop?”

“This job seems quite interesting. I want to give it a try.”

“You really can’t stay idle.”

Ji Qingyan quickly accepted the fact that Lin Yi had joined the police.

After all, he used to drive Didi and run errands. It seemed understandable for him to become a police officer now.

At the very least, it was a proper job.

The only disadvantage was that it was more difficult. This was not great.

“I don’t object to you becoming a cop, but would it be risky? Does it involve shoot-outs, undercover work, that sort of thing?”

“Um…”

Lin Yi pointed at Ji Qingyan’s forehead. “What are you thinking about? Be normal. At most, I’ll just be catching thieves. It’s not as complicated as you think.”

“If you’re just catching thieves, it’s nothing much,” said Ji Qingyan.

“Although you’re good at fighting, you have to be careful.”

“Don’t worry.”

Ji Qingyan nodded with a smile.

“Since you can’t come with me to the company now, could you take care of the recruitment process for me?”

“It seems like you really want me to take charge of this, don’t you?”

Lin Yi saw through her thoughts at a glance.

“Hehe…” Ji Qingyan’s eyes narrowed into slits as she chuckled.

“It’s mainly because this business is a turning point for the company. There can’t be any mistakes. I can’t take so much time to take care of it, and a certain someone would rather go out and have fun than help me. What can I do?”

“Stop, stop, stop. I’ll take care of this. Don’t beat around the bush.”

“That’s more like it. If you listen to me obediently, you’ll get a lot of benefits.”

“I’ve already sent out the relevant recruitment information a week ago. Come to my place in a few days and look through the applications.”

“From what you’re saying, my body will end up being exhausted.”

“Pervert.”

Ji Qingyan snapped at him, then untied her long hair behind her head.

“Do what you have to. I’ll go take a shower.”

“Okay, go ahead.”

Ji Qingyan went to the bathroom. Lin Yi took out his phone and called Qi Xianzhao.

At this time, it should be morning on his side.

“President Lin.”

“How are things going over there?”

“We’ve been discussing a solution the past few days,” Qi Xianzhao said.

“Although these people have agreed to compensate, they are still procrastinating on some trivial matters and are unwilling to bear any additional responsibilities.”

“These are small matters. What’s important is that we have to think of a way to transport the items back.”

“I’m also dealing with this matter. I’ve also contacted two reputable shipping companies, but neither of them has a spare ship. We need to wait for a while more. We will be able to sail in a month at the earliest. We’re in a very passive situation.”

Lin Yi fell silent. Things were developing in the worst direction.

From all the signs, it was likely that someone was behind this, but they still didn’t know who it was.

“Regarding the compensation, you deal with it first. At the same time, contact Bazil and get them to help deal with it. If they still refuse, then don’t pay the remaining 20%.” Lin Yi said.

“If there’s still no progress on your side in the next few days, find two ships in Zhonghai. Don’t worry about the cost. Just bring the goods back first.”

“Got it, President Lin.”

“Be careful while you’re there.”

“Thank you, President Lin. 1 will.”

After a few more reminders, Lin Yi hung up, but he fell into a long silence.

Although he was not completely certain, he was 70% sure that this matter involved some hidden factors.

Therefore, it was not wise to try to overthink it. The most important thing now was to get the goods back.

Since they still held 20% of the final payment in their hands, even if there was a bit more back and forth, the group wouldn’t incur any losses.

It was just a delay.

After dealing with Qi Xianzhao’s matters, Lin Yi fiddled with his phone and called Mo Hongshan.

“Brother Shan, are you asleep?”

“Not yet. I just sent Elder Yang back. What’s the matter?”

“I want to ask you a small favor.”

“There’s no need to be so polite. We’re all on the same side. If you have something to say, just say it.” Mo Hongshan said straightforwardly.

“I have a project on Baoshan Road. Recently, someone has gone over to cause trouble. Can you send a few people over to watch over it for me for a few days?”

“Who dares to cause trouble at your place? How many brain cells do they have?” Mo Hongshan said with a laugh.

“I’m not sure myself. 1 thought of just waiting for things to happen, but 1 don’t feel comfortable letting others handle it, so I have to rely on Brother Shan.”

“No problem, just send me the specific address and a contact number. We can touch base afterwards.”

“Thank you, Brother Shan, but don’t make a big deal out of it. Stay hidden.”

“I know that. This is one of our training subjects. It’s a small matter.”

“Alright,” Lin Yi said, “I’ll send you the address later.”

Then, Lin Yi sent the relevant information to Mo Hongshan. With his ability, it wouldn’t be a problem for him to handle this matter.

That night, Lin Yi, who was sleeping soundly, was woken up by the urgent ringing of his phone.

It was from Mo Hongshan.

“Don’t sleep yet. We’ve caught him. Come to the construction site..”
