I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 1233: Let Me Introduce Someone to You

”Um…”

Lin Yi smiled awkwardly and took the cigarette. Then, he took the initiative to light Lu Beichenʼs cigarette.

”Elder Lu, did you specially ask me to come over just to smoke and drink tea?”

”Howʼs the situation in Sunrise Land?” Lu Beichen asked.

”Yushi Mitsui is dead. If no one stands up to replace him, his group will likely disband,” Lin Yi answered truthfully.

”The only person who can develop the gene sequence serum now is the Mitsui family.”

Lu Beichen flicked the cigarette ash. ”What do you think of these two sides?”

”Yushi Mitsui is much weaker than the Mitsui Family,” Lin Yi said.

”However, it might be because the development period was too short. This operation has killed them in the cradle.”

”However, itʼs hard for me to judge the Mitsui family. Iʼve only seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of strength and foundation. Moreover, they might have connections with the officials of Sunrise Land. Thereʼs no way to tell the exact situation.”

Lu Beichen nodded thoughtfully. ”Actually, looking at the international situation, the threat that Sunrise Land can pose to us isnʼt big. We just have to be careful.”

Lin Yi looked up and glanced at Lu Beichen. He felt like he had been entrusted with an important task.

Otherwise, it was unlikely that he would tell Lin Yi these things.

”Elder Lu, are you going to tell me something?” Lin Yi probed.

”Itʼs not a big deal. I just wanted to ask you about your future plans.” Lu Beichen said.

”Youʼre Team 1ʼs team leader now. Are you planning anything?”

”I havenʼt really thought about it. I just do whatever the higher-ups arrange. I donʼt have many merits; Iʼm just obedient. I go wherever Iʼm told and handle whatever needs to be done.”

”You brat, you only know how to talk nonsense with me every day.” Lu Beichen laughed and said.

”If only you were so obedient.”

Lin Yi also smiled and said, ”Iʼm taking it one step at a time. I plan to follow the elite path, but Iʼm not sure if Iʼll meet the right people.”

”Then come with me. Iʼll refer you to someone.”

”Youʼre giving me a referral? Is it for anything impressive?”

”I donʼt know about that. Go take a look and judge for yourself.”

”Okay.”

Lin Yi stood up and went over to help Lu Beichen up. The two of them walked towards the training ground in the courtyard.

The training ground here was not big and was similar to the Central Guards Brigadeʼs.

It was divided into several areas that allowed them to work on multiple different training types.

”Thereʼs a large group of people in front of us. What are they doing?” Lin Yi asked casually.

”Letʼs go over and take a look.”

When they saw Lu Beichen coming over, the people nearby automatically stopped what they were doing and saluted!

”Greetings, Chief!”

Lu Beichen smiled and nodded. He brought Lin Yi to the front of the crowd.

”Their level is pretty good!”

Lin Yi saw a man in his thirties with short hair doing weight training in the middle of the training ground.

He had 30 kilograms of weights on his back and was doing two-finger pull-ups.

Moreover, he was going quite fast, and his expression was very relaxed.

There were more than 80 people around who were counting the number of reps he was doing.

In terms of strength, he should have long surpassed ordinary people. Even the surrounding veterans could not compare.

After careful observation, Lin Yi felt that even those who had mastered exerting force in their dantian might not be able to surpass him in this aspect.

He was a ruthless person.

He was probably the person Lu Beichen was talking about.

Soon, 100 pull-ups were completed.

The short-haired man hurriedly ran to the side of a huge truck tire and wrapped the tree rope around his waist.

He dragged it through a training field measuring about 50 meters long, and did a total four sets, totaling 200 meters.

After that, it was on to one-armed push-ups. The results were breathtaking.

”This person is called Sui Qiang. Heʼs the grandson of my comrade-in-arms. Heʼs quite well known. I feel that his standard is not bad. Heʼs also at D-class. Heʼs very talented and his level is very high.” Lu Beichen looked at Lin Yi.

”What do you think?”

”You have quite some strength, but I must say, in comparison to the Central Guard Brigadeʼs training grounds and equipment, itʼs lacking a bit. Itʼs just not very professional, and itʼs also quite a narrow training focus.

Although the Central Guard Brigadeʼs training programs were simple, each one was very targeted.

Unlike here, where the training is mostly focused on endurance and physical strength. It was not well-rounded.

Naturally, the data was not convincing.

”They came to Yanjing today, so I called them here to let you take a look.” Lu Beichen said.

”The conditions of the trial naturally canʼt be compared to the Central Guards Brigade. Iʼm just asking you to evaluate them. If possible, Iʼll let them join Team 1.”

”Tomorrow is the official trial day, so let them join the Central Guards Brigadeʼs official trial. Itʼll be better that way.”

”You brat…” Lu Beichen said with a smile.

Lin Yi also smiled. ”Am I too incompetent?”

”Oh, so you are aware?” Lu Beichen said, ”You donʼt even give me any respect. After so many years, youʼre only the second person to do this.”

”Really? I thought no one but me would dare to refuse you.”

Lu Beichen smiled and did not say anything. However, he cursed in his heart.

”Who else could it be? It was your old man.”

Just as the two of them were talking, an old man with white hair and beard walked over with a slightly younger man.

”Old Lu, what do you think of my grandson?”

The old manʼs name was Sui Jizhou. He came from the Sui Family in Sichuan Province and was a big family in the province.

And here, Lu Beichen was naturally there to help.

The young man standing beside him was called Sui Xiang. He was Sui Jizhouʼs grandson and Sui Qiangʼs younger brother. However, his level was very poor and he had yet to cross the threshold. He did not have the ability to participate in the trial training.

”I think heʼs alright, but their team leader isnʼt too satisfied. Heʼs going to have to participate in the trial tomorrow to determine the overall result.”

”Team leader?”

Instinctively, the two of them looked at Lin Yi.

His attire was different from the others and he was standing beside Lu Beichen.

The team leader he was talking about should be him.

”Heʼs the team leader of Team 1?” Sui Jizhou probed.

When they were previously chatting, Lu Beichen had said that he wanted his grandson to join Team 1.

Hence, he was able to identify Lin Yi.

”Yes, this is the leader of Team 1, Lin Yi.”

Sui Xiang looked at Lin Yi for a long time.

He had met the other two leaders of the Central Guards Brigade before. They were both in their thirties.

Wasnʼt this person a little too young?

He seemed to be the same age as him. How did he become the team leader of Team 1?

Could he have got in through nepotism?

His background must be quite something.

Sui Jizhou took the initiative to extend his hand. Lin Yi did the same. He shook it briefly as a form of greeting.

”Team Leader Lin, I want to ask, what are you unsatisfied with? Can you tell me?”
