I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 1228: Mother and Son Meet

Qin Yingyue was dressed elegantly, wearing wide-leg black pants and a white three-quarter sleeve top.

Her aura was not as fierce as Shen Shuyiʼs either, instead exuding a gentle tranquility that came with maturity.

”I remember that back when you and Old Liang were about to get married, you dragged me out shopping every day.”

Qin Yingyue covered her mouth and laughed.” The clothes and quilts you picked were so old-fashioned that I was embarrassed to talk to you.”

”Tsk, if I had good taste, I wouldʼve taken your Old Lin away. Maybe Lin Yi would have been my son now.”

”In your dreams.”

When there were no outsiders, the two women, who were over 50 years old, teased each other playfully. Both of them were open and stubborn.

”What have you been doing these past few months?”

”Itʼs a vacation. I drove there myself. I walked through a few of those small cities in the country. Itʼs quite interesting to look at them now,” Qin Yingyue said as she took a sip of tea.

”Youʼre quite carefree. Other than going on business trips, I havenʼt been anywhere else for a long time.”

”You are shouldering such a huge family business. It canʼt be compared to an idle person like me.” Qin Yingyue smiled and said.

”Moreover, your Liang family can be said to be in the limelight now. Other than the Lu family who can only quietly try to suppress you, no one in the entire country dares to point fingers at you.”

”For those few days, both Old Liang and I didnʼt sleep for several days in a row. Itʼs been so many years since Iʼve felt like this,” Shen Shuyi said.

”But then again, I really have to thank Lin Yi for this. If he didnʼt create this opportunity, the Liang family wouldnʼt have even had the opportunity to take this risk.”

”How is the Wang family now? Have they made any moves?” Qin Yingyue asked.

”Not yet. Itʼs all very peaceful,” Shen Shuyi said.

”But the Qin family doesnʼt seem to be very peaceful.”

”The Qin family? What happened to them?”

”I heard that a few days ago, Lin Yi beat up Qin Yanling at Quanjude, but his injuries werenʼt serious. His wrist was fractured.”

”Why were they fighting?”

”Remember how Lin Yi went to the Central Guards Brigade and become comrades with Qin Yanlingʼs girlfriend? Your nephew suspected that something had happened between the two of them and started fighting,” Shen Shuyi said.

”This is really mysterious. Back then, Lin Jingzhan beat up your two brothers. Now, your son beat up your second brotherʼs son. These two are too much.”

”I really canʼt do anything about the two of them.” Qin Yingyue smiled bitterly and said, ”They only know how to make me worry.”

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Just as the two of them were chatting and laughing, there was a knock on the office door.

”The secretary is probably here. Letʼs go eat after I finish reading the contract.”

”Come in.”

Creak...

The office door was pushed open. Shen Shuyi thought it was her secretary and did not turn around.

However, Qin Yingyue was stunned.

Seeing her best friendʼs expression, Shen Shuyi subconsciously turned around and was surprised to see Lin Yi enter!

Shen Shuyiʼs expression froze and she was speechless.

On the other hand, Qin Yingyueʼs expression became uneasy at this moment.

She wasnʼt ready to see Lin Yi at this time.

Shen Shuyi was the same. This was something she had not expected.

However, she was much calmer than Qin Yingyue.

For a moment, Lin Yiʼs gaze met Qin Yingyueʼs in midair.

That indescribable feeling made both of them feel strange.

Blood was thicker than water. Mother and son were connected.

There were some things that could never be given up.

However, Qin Yingyue felt guilty. Her heart raced and she looked uneasy.

No matter how hard she tried, he could not control the throbbing in her heart.

The person she had been thinking about day and night was standing right in front of her.

Only she, who had experienced it herself, could understand her nervous heart. At this moment, her heart was so excited that it could not rest.

It had been more than twenty years…

Qin Yingyue panicked when her son was standing right in front of her.

She could only forcefully turn her head around and look at the scenery outside the window.

She was afraid she would cry.

Just looking at each other for a second was enough to make her cry.

”Why are you here? The people below didnʼt inform me that you were here.” Shen Shuyi pretended to be relaxed.

”Executives like you are always overworked, so I came over to give you some fruits.” Lin Yi smiled.

”I didnʼt ask them to say anything. This is a surprise for Aunt Shen, but you seem to have a guest. Iʼll leave the things here and go.”

”Donʼt go.”

Shen Shuyi looked at her watch. ”Itʼs already noon. Letʼs eat before leaving.”

”Huh? You want me to stay for a meal?” Lin Yi said casually.

”Iʼm about to call you mother-in-law. Why are you still being so polite to me? You have a client here. Why are you asking me to stay back to eat with you?”

Shen Shuyi rolled her eyes at Lin Yi. ”Sheʼs my good friend and not an outsider. Iʼm not planning to bring you guys outside. Weʼll go to the companyʼs canteen and have a simple meal.”

Initially, Shen Shuyi had planned to go out to eat with Qin Yingyue.

But now that Lin Yi was here, this plan needed to be canceled.

All the meticulous arrangements in the world could not prepare them for such a coincidence.

If she arranged an opportunity for Qin Yingyue to meet Lin Yi, the latter would probably say that she wasnʼt ready for it for the rest of her life.

However, now, Lin Yi had appeared right in front of her.

This could be said to be a gift from the heavens.

Even if they could not reunite, it was still good for them to eat noodles together so that she could look at him for a while.

”Thatʼs not good, we donʼt know each other,” Lin Yi said, ”I donʼt mind, but Iʼm afraid sheʼll be embarrassed.”

”Weʼre both in our fifties. Weʼre both old enough to be your mother. Whatʼs there to be embarrassed about?”

”Huh?”

Lin Yi muttered in his heart, ”What a strange analogy.”

Although that was what he thought, Lin Yi didnʼt think too much about it.

”Alright then. Aunt Shen, your words have swayed me.”

For a long time, Lin Yi had been very respectful to Shen Shuyi.

He even felt that she was the only person he could not figure out.

Since he couldnʼt refuse, he naturally had to listen obediently.

”Letʼs go. Itʼs almost time for lunch, so letʼs go eat.”

Qin Yingyue frowned slightly and secretly glared at Shen Shuyi.

However, Shen Shuyi acted as if she did not see it. She carried her bag smugly and pulled her out of the office.

Before she left, she even picked a box of cherries which they could eat after the meal.

The two of them walked out of the office. At this moment, Shen Shuyiʼs secretary walked over.

”President Shen, Iʼve already prepared the iron ore contract for Aozhou.”

”Put it on my desk. Iʼll deal with it tomorrow.”

”Oh, okay.”

Although the amount of the contract was quite important, Shen Shuyi didnʼt have the mind to deal with it anymore.

Lin Yi pursed his lips as he walked behind.

His gaze landed on the two of them, especially the unknown woman. Lin Yi was quite suspicious.

How close was their relationship that it could make a composed woman like Shen Shuyi act this way, even disregarding company contracts?

Moreover, why did that woman look at him so strangely?
