I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 619 - 619 The Origin of the Word ”Catfight”

619 The Origin of the Word “Catfight”

“What’s there to be embarrassed about?” Song Yuting said indifferently.

“The school only gave us one spot. Whoever has the ability will get it. If she isn’t good enough, isn’t it normal for her to lose her place?”

“That’s true, but I still feel a little awkward.”

Wang Qi was very aware of why Song Yuting could replace Wang Ying to be selected at this time.

!!
Her father was the CEO of a listed company and had offered plenty of money to help her buy this spot.

Once Wang Ying found out about this, the two of them would definitely have a big fight.

Now, she could only hope that Wang Ying would not find out about this at this time.

This way, they could avoid a war. Otherwise, they would find it impossible for them to get along with each other despite seeing each other frequently.

“Alright, stop thinking about those useless things. Let’s hurry up and eat. My father will come and pick me up in a while.”

“Don’t rush me.”

The two of them quickened their pace and arrived at the entrance of the store. They pushed the door open and entered.

“Hiss… Boss is really handsome,” Wang Qi couldn’t help but say.

At first, she didn’t believe it when everyone said that the boss was handsome.

Now that she saw was seeing him in person, he was simply divine.

Hearing the voice, Wang Lu and Du Yuxuan subconsciously turned around.

Surprisingly, she saw that the other customers in the shop were none other than her classmates, Song Yuting and Wang Qi.

“Qiqi, you guys are here to eat too?” Du Yuxuan greeted.

“What a coincidence.”

Wang Qi said awkwardly, “Many people said that the food here is delicious, so we came over to take a look. I didn’t expect to meet you guys.”

“Then let’s sit down and eat together,” Du Yuxuan said casually. She was not as enthusiastic as she had imagined.

Because of they had competed for the single role in the play, Wang Lu and Song Yuting did not have a good relationship.

As Wang Lu’s best friend, she naturally had to stand on her side.

Wang Lu ignored Song Yuting, and the latter ignored her and sat down.

Lin Yi felt that the atmosphere was a little off, but he didn’t take it seriously. He still had a business to run.

“What would you like to eat?”

Song Yuting was not afraid at all when she saw what was on the menu.

Compared to this high-end three-star Michelin she often ate it himself. A bowl of egg fried rice at 189 yuan was not very expensive.

However, when they were ordering, Song Yuting glanced at Wang Lu and ordered a few things as if she was showing off.

“Two servings of egg fried rice.”

“One fried crab.”

“A black pine mushroom abalone soup.”

“And one Supreme Braised Pot .”

“Oh, and a bottle of Sunrise Land peach sake.”

“I’m sorry…”

“Yuting, didn’t you order a little too much? Can the two of us finish it?” Wang Qi said.

“Didn’t they say that the food here is delicious? It’s rare for us to come out, so we have to try everything. We can’t just order two servings of egg fried rice and be done with it, right?”

“Um…”

Wang Qi didn’t know what to say. Wasn’t this deliberately challenging the other party?

“And bluefin tuna sashimi and fruit salad.”

“Alright, just wait.”

Lin Yi turned around and went to the kitchen. Du Yuxuan whispered, “Lulu, ignore her. Let’s eat our food.”

Song Yuting did not say anything, but she despised her in her heart.

“Did you guys see the menu? It’s such an expensive place. You can normally only eat egg fried rice here.”

“This shop belongs to my brother. The more people order, the happier I am.”

Song Yuting’s hand trembled.

Her brother?

What the hell was going on?

Du Yuxuan couldn’t help but laugh. This was a little exciting.

Soon, Song Yuxuan’s expression returned to normal and she stopped fussing over such trivial matters.

In any case, she had already gotten what she deserved. Spending a little money for a meal was nothing.

About twenty minutes later, Lin Yi brought everything out.

“Thank you, Boss,” Wang Qi said.

“You’re welcome.”

As an internet celebrity shop on Zhengyang Street, Song Yuting and Wang Qi couldn’t help but immediately take a bite when the dishes were served.

The taste of it made the two of them exclaim for a while.

This was especially true for Song Yuting. She felt that the taste of the food in small shop was even better than that of the three-star Michelin restaurants outside.

What this handsome man made was different from those flirtatious sl*ts outside.

After the dishes were served, both sides ate with their heads lowered. Neither side paid attention to the other, and outsiders could not tell that they were even classmates.

Lin Yi was too lazy to worry too much. Such conflicts were common among female university students.

Otherwise, the word ‘catfight’ would never have been created.

Ring!

Wang Lu’s phone rang.

“Teacher Liu,” Wang Lu said respectfully after picking up the phone.

“Switched?”

“I-I understand.”

The call lasted less than a minute. After hanging up, Wang Lu’s expression changed drastically. Lin Yi and Du Yuxuan both felt that something was wrong.

“What’s wrong? What was changed?” Du Yuxuan asked.

“My role has been changed,” Wang Lu said coldly.

“That’s unlikely.” Du Yuxuan said.

“You’ve been rehearsing for a week and didn’t do anything wrong. Why were you replaced?”

“You’ll have to ask her.”

Following Wang Lu’s gaze, Lin Yi and Du Yuxuan looked at Song Yuting.

“She took it?”

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Song Yuting said innocently, as if she didn’t know anything.

“Stop pretending. I don’t believe you wouldn’t know about this!” Wang Lu said coldly.

“Lulu, what are you talking about? I really don’t know anything about this,” Song Yuting said.

“Sis, you’ve been practicing this play the whole time. Even if you don’t act well, they wouldn’t have given me this opportunity. Why are you randomly accusing me?”

“Stop pretending. You look disgusting!” Du Yuxuan said.

“Hey, hey, hey, what are you saying?” Song Yuting said.

“When it comes to these kind of things, it’s all a competition. You were removed because you’re not capable enough. Why are you still blaming others? Don’t you know to introspect?”

“Your father must have given a gift to the teachers in school. Don’t think that we don’t know the truth!”

Du Yuxuan said angrily, “You know very well what’s wrong with you!”

“What do you mean given a gift?” Song Yuting said, “Don’t slander me.”

“Yuting, stop talking. No matter what, we’re classmates. There’s no need to do this,” Wang Qi whispered.

“They started it. I have no time for them,” Song Yuting said.

“Mr. Liu is really too much. I clearly don’t want this opportunity, but he still forced it upon me. I’ve been so busy recently that I don’t have time to practice acting. I probably won’t even have time to shop in the next month.”

“You!”

“Alright, alright. It’s such a small matter. There’s no need to quarrel,” Lin Yi said.

“Since she doesn’t want it, you can just fight for it.”

“Brother Lin, this isn’t a matter we can fight about. If her family wasn’t rich, the school wouldn’t have removed me.”

“But she doesn’t want to take the role, right? In that case, she should give the opportunity to others.”

“Boss, that’s not right,” Song Yuting said.

“At first, the school asked me to participate, but I didn’t want to act. It was too much of a waste of time, so the school teacher chose her. I guess she saw that her standard wasn’t good enough, so she looked for me again. Do you think I can refuse? To ensure the quality of the play, the school won’t let me refuse.”

“It’s fine. I’ll make a call and help you settle it.”

With that, Lin Yi picked up his phone and called Guo Rui.

“Ms, Guo, I’m calling regarding your school play. They originally chose Wang Lu. Why did they swap her out?”

“Alright, go and ask about it. That student named Song Yuting doesn’t really want the role, so she wants to reject it.”

“No problem. Come to the shop when you have time. I’ll treat you to a meal.”

After talking to Guo Rui, Lin Yi hung up and looked at Song Yuting with a smile.

“I’ve taken care of this for you. You don’t have to play this role anymore. You’ll have time to shop now.”

“Um…”

Song Yuting and Wang Qi were stunned.

No one expected Lin Yi to make this call.

“Who is Ms. Guo?”

“Guo Rui, a professor from your school. You should know her, right?”

“Guo Rui?”

Song Yuting and Wang Qi muttered. They were unfamiliar with this person.

They were both from the Performance Department, and Guo Rui was a professor from another department.

Even if they were in the same school, basically no one knew the faculty from other departments.

It was not unusual for the two of them not to know about Guo Rui.

“Who is this person? Why haven’t I heard of her before?” Song Yuting muttered.

“Maybe she’s a teacher from another academy.” Wang Qi said.

“You don’t have to take it seriously. How can a small teacher be so important? He’s probably just saying it casually. Whether or not it can actually affect you is another matter.”

“I agree.”

Song Yuting poked the bottom of the bowl with her chopsticks. Initially, she thought that the boss of this shop was very handsome and she could eat delicious food here.

She did not expect him to do such a thing. If she had known earlier, she would not have come here to eat.

Thinking of this, Song Yuting sent her father a WeChat message, asking him to pick her up. She didn’t want to eat anymore.

“Brother Lin, can you really snatch the spot back?” Du Yuxuan asked.

“How is this considered snatching?” Lin Yi said.

“She didn’t want to act, so I did her a favor and fulfilled her wish, so don’t claim that I snatched it.”

“Hehe, what you said makes sense,” Du Yuxuan said with a smile.

“Tsk, you make it sound so nice,” Song Yuting said.

“Although I’m not interested, not everyone can fulfill this role well. The school leaders are not blind. How can they casually give this role to others? It’d be a mockery to the school. Besides, you only know an unknown little teacher. How much influence can you have?”

Ring!

Song Yuting’s phone rang at this moment.
