Chapter 606 - 606 Perhaps Life Was Really Like This

606 Perhaps Life Was Really Like This

“Your dress isn’t much longer than mine, right?” Tian Yan complained.

“Those boys are also staring at your legs.”

He Yuanyuan said with a smile, “I have too little flesh on my legs. Girls with flesh like you are the best.”

“Don’t flatter each other here,” Lin Yi said.

!!
“There are so many people here. I’m f*cking lonely.”

“Then just focus on cooking your egg-fried rice like before.” He Yuanyuan said, “Or you can cook one serving at a time. Don’t worry about anything else.”

“No, you’re not as charming as I am. I’m afraid if I keep them waiting too long, they’ll eventually leave.”

“Boss, I really feel that you deserve to die from exhaustion!”

Tian Yan smiled and said, “What should we do now? There are so many people here. We have to think of a way to deal with them.”

“I’ll prepare one serving at a time,” Lin Yi said, “Let’s see how charming you guys are.”

Only by earning 100,000 yuan could he complete this stage of the system mission.

Lin Yi didn’t want to lose any of the guests.

However, if too many people came at once, it would definitely affect the speed at which the dishes were served. Some people would not be able to wait and would leave first. It was normal for them to leave before the food was served, and it could not be helped.

“Whether the guests will leave early depends on how short Sister Yan’s dress is,” He Yuanyuan teased.

“If it’s any shorter, my safety pants will be exposed. When the time comes, the anti-pornography team will capture us all,” Tian Yan said humorously.

The three of them laughed and went about their business.

Lin Yi was busy in the kitchen. He Yuanyuan and Tian Yan were in charge of entertaining the guests and serving the dishes. Their work was relatively easy.

Lin Yi didn’t serve the dishes quickly, but He Yuanyuan and Tian Yan made sure no one left. Those who left early were all people who had urgent matters to attend to. Otherwise, they would have happily waited here.

Just as He Yuanyuan had said, who wouldn’t like to see a girl in a short black silk dress?

Meanwhile, Ji Qingyan busied herself until 5 p.m. before driving over.

She could not believe her eyes when she saw the long line of about a dozen people outside.

What happened?

The business in the shop was actually so good.

When she was in the company during the day, she had already received nearly 10,000 yuan.

She did not expect the restaurant to be so popular. It should not be a problem to break through 20,000 that day.

Ji Qingyan’s arrival had a more direct effect on the store’s business.

There seemed to be more people queuing up after she arrived.

Girls looked at handsome guys, and boys looked at beautiful girls. Even if it was a couple, they both enjoyed the view. It was extremely harmonious.

What was a harmonious society?

This was the perfect example of it!

“Senior Sister, you’re here.”

Seeing Ji Qingyan, He Yuanyuan walked over.

“You must be exhausted.”

“We’re not tired. There are only a few tables in our shop. How tired can we be?”

She looked at her watch and realized that it was almost six o’clock.

“Yuanyuan, go out and put up a sign. Tell them that the shop closes at 6:30 p.m. and we will only entertain the people queuing outside then. If anymore come after that, we won’t entertain them.”

“You are closing at 6:30? Do you not want to earn money?”

He Yuanyuan really could not understand her senior sister’s mindset. A few days ago, she was worried that her business was not doing well and she could not earn enough to cover the rent.

Now that business was good, she actually wanted to close the shop early?

“My phone hasn’t stopped ringing since this morning. It was all notifications on incoming money. If things stay this busy, Lin Yi will be exhausted to death. This is enough.”

“Got it. I’ll inform them.”

Tian Yan smiled. The lady boss’s heart ached.

When they arrived at the store, Ji Qingyan went to the kitchen to work with Lin Yi.

Although there weren’t many things she could do to help, it still helped him relieve some of the pressure.

Lin Yi didn’t say anything about closing the shop early.

Although it would affect the progress of the mission, it was fine as long as she was happy.

At about 6:30 pm, He Yuanyuan arrived in the kitchen.

“There’s one more table of customers. We can wrap up after we’re done.”

“Alright, you guys go to the front desk and clean up that side. Lin Yi and I will clean up the kitchen. We’ll leave after that. Go back and rest early.”

“There’s no problem.”

About twenty minutes later, Lin Yi and Ji Qingyan tidied up the kitchen. After the last table of customers left, they planned to close the shop.

“Class Monitor, why are you here?!”

When Lin Yi came out of the kitchen, he suddenly heard an exclamation and looked at the table by the door.

Ji Qingyan and the others did not expect to meet Lin Yi’s classmate here.

There were five people sitting at the small table.

There were three men and two women who were Lin Yi’s classmates.

The person who spoke just now was Shao Bin, Lin Yi’s university classmate.

However, after graduation, Lin Yi started working whilst the former chose to pursue his postgraduate studies.

Because they didn’t interact much when they were in school, and Shao Bin’s crush had always liked Lin Yi, the two of them didn’t interact much since their second year.

It was really an accident that they were meeting each other here.

The remaining four people were called Zhou Hao, Fang Chuanyu, Song Kexin, and Huang Lili.

The girl named Song Kexin was the girl Shao Bin had a crush on back then, but she had always been interested in Lin Yi.

Seeing Lin Yi walk out of the kitchen in a chef’s uniform, the five of them were surprised and shocked.

“Class Monitor, are you a chef here?” Shao Bin was a little surprised.

“Um… I guess you could say that. I made everything you guys ate.”

“I heard from our classmates that you work in a real estate company. Why are you here as a chef? This doesn’t suit your status.”

“That job is long gone.”

“You still have to find a decent job rather than stay a chef. If word gets out, it’ll be embarrassing for you.”

Lin Yi was amused. “Is it not dignified to be a chef?”

“Isn’t the answer obvious?” Shao Bin said.

“I think it was the worst decision for you not to take the postgraduate entrance exam. In a place like Zhonghai, talents are everywhere. If an undergraduate student from an ordinary university doesn’t take the postgraduate entrance exam, he won’t be able to survive in this city.”

“You have a point.”

“Class Monitor, listening to you, are you bowing your head to fate? You weren’t like this back then.” Shao Bin chuckled.

“You should know the importance of studying now, right? Look at me now. After I got into graduate school, I started doing venture capital with my mentor. When I went on business trips, I stayed in five-star hotels. I drink Starbucks coffee and whatnot casually. When I was in school, my mentor watched us study every day. At that time, I was extremely annoyed. Now that I look at it, I understand how important education is.”

He Yuanyuan looked at Shao Jie. She felt that her boss’ classmates were all very pretentious.

Moreover, they were very stiff and not friendly at all.

In any case, Ji Qingyan and Tian Yan also ignored this matter. They simply started browsing through cosmetic catalogues on their phones.

The two groups of people did not trouble each other either.

“Shao Bin, stop talking,” Zhou Hao said.

“I don’t mean anything else. I just want to talk about our current situation,” Shao Bin said.

“Just like Kexin. When she was in school, she kept saying that she wouldn’t take the postgraduate entrance examination. When she was intern at the four major consultancies, she realized that she couldn’t find a good job. In the end, she came back to take the postgraduate entrance examination. It was all because there were too many talents in Zhonghai and the competition was too intense.”

“Hey, keep your conversations to yourselves. Why did you drag me into it?” Song Kexin said.

However, his eyes flickered as if he didn’t dare to look at Lin Yi. His heart was filled with sorrow.

Lin Yi was an influential figure in school.

He was handsome and good at basketball. Everyone thought that he would be the most promising after graduation.

They did not expect that he would be reduced to being a chef here.

It seemed that academic qualifications could really decide everything!

Her family was right. Girls really couldn’t fall in love when they were in university.

Because you have no idea what this boy will be like in the future.

Lin Yi was a good example of this.

If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes today, who would have thought that the influential figure in school would end up like this?

Who would have thought that Shao Bin, who used to keep a low profile, would now fly around the country and talk to so many successful people?

Perhaps life was really like this.
