Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 120 Rita's Story

Chapter 120 Rita’s Story

Rita’s father, Erwin, his family originally belonged to the noble family, lived in the high-level cities on the surface for generations, and was quite well-known in the entire Al planet.

However, a sudden catastrophe changed the lives of all Ayre people.

For the sake of money and power, those dignitaries in high positions will do everything they can.

Because the family owned several rare mineral resources, the grandfather who was the head of the family at that time was framed by the gangsters, and together with the patriarchs of several other families, was imprisoned for treason.

And he was forcibly executed only a week later, without being given any chance to defend himself.

Although an uncle in the family took up the heavy responsibility of the head of the family in time, it still did not prevent the decline of the family.

After that, the family began to fall apart due to civil strife.

At that time, Erwin had just reached Rita’s current age. He was very young and had no social experience. However, he still made a decisive decision, severed ties with his family, and became a biologist who was not very promising. .

Helpless, he is like duckweed floating in the wind and rain. When a storm hits, he may be overturned in the waves.

But it was because of the obsession in his heart that he made a leap forward in his subsequent growth.

He has developed a short-acting anti-Zerg virus serum, which can effectively cure those Ayres infected by the Zerg.

Although there were many restrictions on the use of the serum, it did not prevent him from being praised by many high-ranking figures at the time.

Due to Erwin’s outstanding talent, the Temple invited him to join the research and development team.

Then, in just a few years, he successfully obtained the title of elder of the council, and with his astonishing research and development achievements, he became a smash hit.

And Rita’s mother, Irene, was a real lady from a famous family, and she also became a well-known genetic biologist at that time.

She had entered into a marriage contract with the son of a well-matched family and would soon be married.

But later, she was attracted by the talented and amazingly talented Erwin. This resolute woman disregarded the opposition of everyone in the family, tore up the contract in public, and ran away with this man.

The two overcame all difficulties and entered the palace of marriage hand in hand. No, strictly speaking, due to the catastrophe of the doomsday at that time, it seemed that the two of them didn’t even have a grand wedding.

And later, according to an acquaintance, the two have been under pressure from all sides over the years, and even almost caused a tragedy on several occasions, but they persisted.

But just when life gradually stabilized, El Star completely fell.

The Zerg army broke through the defense line of the Aiur United Army, sweeping the city like a torrential flood.

Due to the extremely special status of a biologist, the elders of the temple selected the two of them into the temple.

After living in this closed city hidden in the subspace for less than a few years, the two have the crystallization of love again, which is Rita.

Under the influence of Erwin and Irene, the young Rita showed amazing talent.

After more than [-] years of study, she was about to show her abilities to the world and her achievements to her parents when she completed the ceremony.

But she heard that an accident happened to the scientific research project led by her mother.

Rita, who heard the news, strongly appealed to the person in charge of the Academy of Sciences, hoping that they would send more people to search and rescue.

But after hearing her words, the expressions of those in charge became very strange, and they seemed to be very reluctant.

At that time, she didn’t have any ability to go to Al Star alone, so she could only worry at home.

But in less than a week, she saw her mother, who was bound by shackles, step into the central square amidst the castigation of the temple residents.

A smear of rose-purple blood was splashed on the square, and after that, the gentle woman was no longer seen in the house.

This blow almost made Rita faint, and she knew that her mother would not do anything harmful.

After grief and indignation, she decided to explore the truth of the accident through her own actions.

With the help of a close friend of the Academy’s mother, she successfully hacked into the Academy’s database, and retrieved relevant information on the genetic drug incident and search and rescue records from it.

It turned out that there was nothing in the data except some academic papers published to the outside world.

All important data has been completely erased.

The search and rescue files to El Star showed more than a dozen dispatch records, in which the participating departments increased from the logistics personnel of the scientific research team at the beginning, to the research institute staff invited midway, to a large number of secret armed forces whose affiliations were unknown. .

This also fully shows that since the accident of the mother’s scientific research team, the ancestral temple has secretly dispatched a large amount of manpower and material resources, but all of them have achieved nothing.

It also proves from another aspect that this project is very important. Perhaps a lot of research and development was invested in the early stage, so it was so valued.

But why would they clear all the data?
Rita found some clues in the news reports and gossip in the same period.

It is said that all the personnel involved in the search and rescue work were sacrificed without exception, and not only the military base on the surface of the Al star, but also a large number of people died in the laboratory of Jongmyo.

Is it infected with Zerg virus?

This seems unlikely, since her father developed an anti-Zerg virus serum that could cure Ayirians of the virus for a short period of time.

As long as they receive treatment within twelve hours, they can be easily cured.

However, the following exclusive report hidden in the data stream gave Rita a childhood shadow.

”Spontaneous decomposition of living body cells and tissues, punishment from ancient gods!”

The report listed many mosaic, but still disgusting pictures. She could never have imagined that there were viruses that could decompose living organisms.

And one of the most described words in the article is spontaneous decomposition.

Rita immediately contacted the news media that reported the news, but after explaining her intentions, the communication request was blocked by the other party, and after that, she couldn’t be contacted no matter what.

After that day, she never saw any reports of the incident.

The search and rescue team members who survived, the doctors and nurses in the sterile ward, the researchers in the laboratory, the media reporters who reported such news, etc., no one has seen them again, and no information about them can be found.

It was as if everything had disappeared out of thin air.

In the months that followed, Rita tried everything, all to no avail.

At that time, she was already facing collapse when she was young.

However, the former mother’s best friend came forward to help her again.

”Everything is caused by the temple elders behind the scenes!”

This sentence, Rita has been remembered to this day.

After the genetic potion incident, the corrupt posture of the temple elders made her determined to join the temple guards.

She wants to use the light blade in her hand to make a fair and just ruling and eradicate the evils lurking in the darkness.

Hatred is a person’s greatest motivation.

Therefore, in just ten years, Rita was successfully promoted to captain by virtue of her illustrious military exploits.

After that, he was promoted to commander in three years, and his prestige was known to everyone in the temple.

Today, 22 years have passed.

Perhaps in the eyes of the Blue Stars, the 22 years of the Ayres is not a long time.

But for Rita, it was more than 8000 sleepless days and nights.

If it weren’t for some video data of her mother, she might have forgotten the voice and smile of this gentle woman at this time.

At this moment, as the listener, Lin Ye spoke slowly:
”Rita, have you ever thought about it.

How did you invade the temple database back then?
Why are all the personnel related to the project wiped out, but you are still alive?

Erwin purged the entire temple elders more than ten years ago. Is it really because they used the lives of civilians to activate the temple hall?

Don’t forget, Rita, your father is a chief elder who resolutely severed the family relationship and started from scratch. He is more powerful than anyone else!
Even if he was infected with the Zerg virus and became those ugly monsters, he still hasn’t forgotten you! ”

Rita took two steps back, shaking her head vigorously: ”He killed mother himself!”

Tears couldn’t stop streaming down my cheeks.

She didn’t say anything more, but turned around and quickly left the corridor and left the medical center.
