Global Arrival: Survival on a Desert Island

Chapter 85 Barracks and Ordnance

Chapter 85 Barracks and Ordnance
”Along this area, excavate the slopes and fill the sea to make a smoother road.”

”All the flat trees in this area have been cut down and the land leveled.”

”By the way, don’t forget to reserve the location of Yantian.”

”The ship was carefully cleaned for me, and all the sewage and odors were cleaned up...”

Lin Feng shuttled among the crowd and divided them into several teams to carry out land reclamation operations on the island at the same time.

Now Lin Feng is like a black-hearted supervisor, constantly patrolling the progress of the project on the island.

Since the own work schedule is complete, all that remains is to wait for the fabrication of the new building to be completed.

Lin Feng took a look, and there were 8 blueprints for buildings that could be taken out next.

Ordnance, barracks, shipyard, fishing ground, warehouse, anti-tidal embankment, and five fresh water purifiers
It is estimated that the first five buildings will be completed by noon the day after tomorrow.

The manufacturing time for one section of the tide-proof embankment is two hours, and one hundred sections will take two hundred hours, and it will take more than eight days to complete all of them.

Fortunately, he had two of them in his hand, so Lin Feng directly made 100 knots for each design drawing, so that a [-]-meter embankment could be produced in four days.

Lin Feng originally wanted to make all the design drawings of the two embankments, but unfortunately he only had more than 3000 copies of the stones in his hand.

One section of the embankment costs 250 stones, and two pieces equals two hundred sections.

With the amount he has now, he can only build 170 knots at most to reach the sky.

But not all the materials in hand can be used to make dams, and some have to be left to make other buildings.

Therefore, Lin Feng ordered a length of 100 meters to test the water first, and then went to the market to buy other materials for some stones in the next few days.

……

Two days passed quickly.

With the efforts of more than 400 people, the connection between the two islands has been very different.

Since the entire mound is blocked between the two islands, it is inconvenient to pass and obstruct the view.

The two sections of the originally welded mound have been flattened, and all the excavated sand and stones have been filled into the sea to expand the area of the island.

According to Lin Feng’s plan, he planned to dig up the entire section of the mound.

Now, in order to facilitate the passage, two coastal channels have been dug out.

As for the woods on the big island, thanks to Lin Feng’s overtime arrangements, a large area has been cleared.

This is the open space reserved for the armory and barracks.

The two buildings occupy a very large area. The core area on the small island has been occupied, and now only the big island has this area to accommodate.

The manufacturing difficulty of the barracks is not complicated, and it has been completed earlier.

A barracks covering an area of [-] square meters.

When he first placed it, Lin Feng thought it was a prison at first glance.

There are two-story wire fences and watchtowers with a height of more than ten meters at the four corners.

No matter how you look at it, it looks like a prison for ’imprisoning’ prisoners, but after entering and inspecting, it is discovered that this is a serious military camp.

Bunkers, dormitories, warehouses, training grounds, canteens.

All kinds of necessary equipment are all available in the barracks.

There is even a small shooting range in this training ground.

There are three dormitories in the military camp. Unlike the dormitories in the camp, the dormitories here are all built with stones.

Lin Feng took a look and found that it would not be a problem to accommodate six to seven hundred people.

But now he won’t let everyone live here.

There are only two batches of survivors and some more loyal people who can stay here.

Lin Feng planned to train the people who stayed in the barracks into a group of elite personal guards to protect his safety.

The camp that was originally vacant on the small island was for the sailors’ original management and technical personnel.

Such as chief mate, navigator, doctor and others.

Looking at the ordnance factory that was about to be built, Lin Feng came to the open space ahead of time to wait for the completion of the construction.

As the countdown reaches zero, take out the construction hammer that has been prepared and choose to place it.

A 25X25 giant building appears in front of you.

From the outside, the armory has three floors.

There are several large iron doors on the front of the armory. Lin Feng approached and opened one to enter the interior.

On the first floor, there are many lathes lined up quietly, and there is a faint smell of engine oil at the same time.

Looking at these devices, Lin Feng couldn’t turn his head for a while.

Myself... Is this entering the industrial age?

But then, a transparent prompt appeared in front of him.

[Ordnance Operation Mode:]

[Research mode: Reverse research equipment design drawings, add them to the manufacturing list, and consume the design drawings after researching the drawings. 】

[Manufacturing mode: Manufacture recorded design drawings and equipment, capable of refined and mass-produced in small quantities. (The more participants, the faster the production speed)]

[Two modes cannot be operated at the same time]

Lin Feng can still understand the manufacturing model, but what is this research model?
With curiosity, select research mode to view.

Then a brand new interface appeared in front of him.

A single grid is similar to the interface of being backpacked, and this should be the place to put in the blueprint for reverse research.

Under the interface, there are several explanatory information.

[The speed of reverse research drawings is based on the difficulty of the drawings and the knowledge reserve of the number of researchers. 】

[The simpler the blueprint, the faster the research speed; the more complicated the blueprint, the slower the research speed. 】

[Research drawings are divided into two modes, automatic research and personnel participation in research. 】

[Automatic reverse research takes a long time. When personnel participate in the research, the knowledge reserve ability of everyone determines the research speed. The richer the knowledge reserve, the faster the manufacturing speed. 】

Four simple instructions let Lin Feng understand its operating rules.

After thinking about it for a while, he took out the design drawing of the steam engine from his backpack and put it in it.

[Research Difficulty: Difficult]

[Automatic research time-consuming: 9999 days]

[Personnel research time-consuming: unknown]

Looking at the new prompt, Lin Feng’s eyes twitched.

Nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine days?

It will take 27 years to complete the reverse research of this blueprint.

For 27 years, Lin Feng didn’t know whether he was still alive or not.

It seems that automatic research is a bit unreliable.

Lin Feng looked at the personnel research, he did not arrange personnel here, so the time was not displayed.

After thinking about it, he left the armory and went to gather all the carpenters on the ship, a total of 17 people.

They are all ’craftsmen’ on board and have certain craft abilities.

Incorporating these 17 people into the work of the Ordnance Institute, a new time appeared on the side of personnel time consumption.

[Personnel research time-consuming: 1228 days]

This time is reduced by as much as eight times compared to automatic.

However, more than 1000 taels and 200 days is still too long.

Since all the blueprints that can be manufactured in his hand have been incorporated into the manufacturing, Lin Feng has no other blueprints to experiment with.

Take the blueprint away, switch to manufacturing mode, and see what items are unlocked.
