Global Arrival: Survival on a Desert Island

Chapter 52 Food and Cold Drinks

Chapter 52 Snacks and Cold Drinks

The material is broken up and boiled in a large pot to make a paste.

These are the initial work of papermaking, and there are many tedious steps in the follow-up. It is impossible to get the paper on the same day.

After watching the work of the savages for a while, Lin Feng stopped paying attention and went back to the courtyard to do his own business.

A wooden stake was placed in the courtyard, and several buckets of fresh water were taken out of the backpack, ready to boil them all.

Lin Feng planned to slaughter the wild boar that hadn’t been slaughtered while he was free today.

This time, he planned to obtain ingredients by manual slaughtering instead of decomposing the function.

But before taking out the wild boar carcass, he had to prepare for the slaughter.

After all the boiling water boiled, Lin Feng took out the wild boar from his backpack and put it on the stake.

At the same time, call the savages on the side to help take out the fur.

Pour boiling water on his body, and then use tools such as an iron ax and knife to shave his hair.

While the savage was shaving, Lin Feng prepared an empty wooden barrel and put it under the wild boar’s neck to collect the pig’s blood.

Taking out the knife, Lin Feng stabbed fiercely into the trachea under the wild boar’s neck, and pulled it away with force.

Blood continued to flow from the hole into the barrel.

As the bloodletting work continues for a while, the hair removal is similar.

Commanded everyone to turn the boar’s body sideways, ready to cut down from the neck.

The cortex and meat of wild boars are very tight, and it takes a lot of effort to cut them with a knife.

Lin Feng simply took the iron ax and used it as a planing tool to divide it.

After changing the tool, the cutting went much smoother, and the wild boar’s belly was cut in half in a short while.

Looking at the various internal organs in the pig, these are all good things. Last time they were decomposed and swallowed, this time they can’t be missed again.

Iron axes cannot be used for the work of cutting internal organs, so Lin Feng took out a small knife and began to divide the ingredients.

After a while, the internal organs of the wild boar were cleaned up.

After cleaning the internal organs, the rest is bones and meat.

Cut all the way down the center spine, completely bisecting the wild boar.

Then cut off the bones and meat of the wild boar, pork chops, pigs, lean fat and so on.

The slaughtering work continued until noon and was not considered complete.

When they came to the cafeteria kitchen, Lin Feng did not cook. The catering work of the savages was now left to them themselves.

And Lin Feng came to the kitchen to cook something nice.

Lard, lard residue!

Lin Feng wanted to get these two things last time, but unfortunately, the pork chops decomposed by the system were fat and thin, so they were not easy to fry.

And after this manual slaughter, there is the most suitable lard suet to do these two things.

Recalling the production method, Lin Feng mixed the lard and cut it into small pieces, and washed it with fresh water.

Then bring the kitchen stove to life, ready to fry.

Add a small bowl of water to the iron pot and boil it, then reduce the fire of the stove.

When it’s about the same time, pour the cut pork suet into the pot and start cooking.

Boiling lard is a time-consuming job. He hasn’t had lunch yet, so he hired a savage to take care of this job.

After carefully explaining the cooking work, I went to eat lunch to replenish my strength.

After training early in the morning and the physical work of butchering pigs, Lin Feng was already hungry.

After simply warming the can, serve it with coarse bread.

These are the supplies in hand now. In order to ensure that I will not get tired of eating in the short term, I eat a little or mix and match all kinds of food every day.

A box of canned beef, a box of canned fruits and vegetables, plus two coarse breads and a bottle of water, this is his lunch at noon.

Lin Feng’s meal was almost like eating someone else’s food rations for two days.

After a full meal, Lin Feng didn’t return to the kitchen to take care of cooking lard, and this time the kung fu probably just started to produce lard.

Lin Feng took advantage of this time to get a wooden barrel, and then took some saltpeter out of his backpack.

Looking at the smooth and white saltpeter, it seems that its purity should be good, and the effect after the reaction should also be very good.

He took some more saltpeter from his backpack and smashed them all into small crystal blocks.

Lin Feng planned to use saltpeter to make ice in this operation.

Using the physics knowledge learned in the third grade of elementary school, saltpeter can absorb a lot of heat after it dissolves.

When the ratio of water and saltpeter is 1:1, the interaction between the two can reduce the temperature to about 0 degrees.

And this temperature is enough to make ice cubes.

However, the ice mixed from the two is not edible, and a basin or a separate ice-making container must be placed in the mixture.

As for the separate container, Lin Feng directly replaced it with a plastic bottle.

Pour the saltpeter into the barrel, and then Lin Feng took out several bottles of mineral water.

Unscrew the mineral water and pour one-third into the barrel, then screw the cap on and put it in for refrigeration.

This part is poured out to ensure that the volume expands during ice making and will not break the plastic bottle.

Add six bottles of mineral water in a row, and stop until all the water bottles are exhausted.

As the saltpeter reacts with the water, the temperature inside the barrel begins to drop gradually.

Soon Lin Feng could see that the water in the barrel had crystal reflection symptoms.

This is the prelude that has already begun to freeze.

But if you want the water in the mineral water bottle to freeze, this temperature is not enough.

Lin Feng casually took some saltpeter from his backpack, smashed it into small crystal pieces and put it in the bottle to accelerate the absorption of heat.

In less than 10 minutes, a bucket of ice cubes was made.

Take out the mineral water that has condensed into ice from the wooden barrel, and feel the cold feeling from the palm of your hand.

Lin Feng felt a burst of relief. The ghostly weather on this island, except for a little coolness in the morning and evening, was extremely hot at other times.

Now with the appearance of ice cubes, there is another way to cool off the heat.

In addition, the prepared saltpeter water is extracted and reused through cooling crystallization or evaporation crystallization, so there is no need to worry about consumption.

Take out the prepared ice cubes and cut them, then take out several boxes of canned fruits and vegetables and open them, take out the fruits inside and mix them with ice cubes.

Such a unique cold drink in the world was born.

Lin Feng didn’t waste the opened can, so he took it back into his backpack and waited for the next time to eat it.

But one cold drink was not enough, Lin Feng made all the remaining ice cubes into cold drinks before stopping.

These cold drinks Lin Feng planned to give Xiao Su a surprise later, but before that, he had to get out the lard and lard residue.

Coming to the kitchen, Song Si was diligently tinkering with the iron pot, constantly stirring the inside of the pot.

”Okay, leave it to me next.”

Lin Feng took over the operation and took a look at the quality of the lard residue. At this moment, the lard suet no longer looks fat and white.

After frying, it has shrunk into small pieces of golden oil residue.

After taking a piece out of the oil pan and cooling it down, I tasted it and felt it was okay.

Pick out all the oil residue floating on the oil in the pot, and finally leave the waste residue at the bottom of the pot.

The oil residue came out, and the lard in the pot should not be wasted. I found a clean wooden barrel and poured the hot oil in little by little.

Then remove the waste residue in the pot, pour the hot oil back into the pot and fry the lard residue again, so that the lard residue is crispy and delicious.

After simply completing the process, divide the lard and oil residue into two parts and prepare to send them to Xiaosu.
