Chapter 137 The Bigwigs from the TowerChapter 137 The Bigwigs from the Tower

Under the sunset.

The burly middle-aged man handed a bottle of wine to the gentle middle-aged man wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses beside him and grinned:
”Gustav, you should be almost ready, right?”

”No, thank you.” Gustav refused directly, ”You don’t have to test my Thunder Dragon. We have no choice now. Either we succeed in breaking through and fight hard, or we can only accept our fate.”

This sturdy middle-aged man named Lei Long is the leader of the Fire Dragons whom Luo Xia has only heard of but never seen. He is also the man standing at the top of the Blue Water Star!

There has always been a discussion in the circle of swappers about who is the strongest person on the Blue Water Planet, and the controversial candidates are nothing more than a few: the leader of the Flame Dragon, Lei Long, the leader of the X Organization, Dr. Lightman, the president of the Demon Spirit Society, Gustav, and the bosses of several major forces such as Shenhan and God’s Eye.

Of course, these discussions certainly do not include Rorschach.

On the one hand, it is because Rorschach rose too late and was not famous enough, and on the other hand, it is because Rorschach did not do much on the Blue Water Star.

Only a very small number of top replacers know of his existence.

Leaving Rorschach aside, the one who is recognized by most replacers as the strongest person on Blue Water Planet is Thunder Dragon!

Next are people like Dr. Lightman and Gustav.

However, now these people have come to the Gray Domain, and almost all of them have joined the [Gray Tower Academy], and are quickly coming to the fore.

Especially the three giants, Lei Long, Dr. Lightman, and Gustav, are the best among the high-level wizard apprentices of this year’s [Grey Tower Academy], and there are also many others who have already broken through to the high-level wizard apprentices.

But the three of them are undoubtedly the most likely to be promoted to Morning Star first.

The main reason why Lei Long came to ask Gustav this time was to see when Gustav planned to break through, because he himself was already prepared.

”I’m not testing you. I’m just telling you that I should try to break through soon. If I fail, the Blue Water Star will be in your hands.” Lei Long took a sip of wine and said with a free and easy smile.

”Don’t be so pessimistic. This may also be an opportunity for us.” Gustav pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose and said.

”I hope so.” Lei Long did not comment.

Gustav was about to say something, but an excited voice came from behind him:

”Dad, Dad, it seems like a flying boat is coming. What a big scene. I heard that some big shots from the Omniscient Tower are coming. Even Vice Dean Han Shuang has gone to greet them personally—”

This impatient shout made Gustav feel helpless.

”I’m sorry to embarrass you, you little bastard.” Gustav said to Lei Long.

”Hahaha, there’s nothing to laugh at. I think Jin Kara is a good kid. At least he has a kind heart.” Lei Long said with a smile.

”I’ll take that as a compliment.” Gustav chuckled.

”Let’s go. Since there’s something exciting going on, let’s go and see it together.” Lei Long motioned to Gustav to go along, and the latter nodded.

……

As the crystal energy flying boat slowly descended, everyone in the boat gathered together again at Nicole’s request, preparing to connect with the people from the Gray Tower Academy and accept some inevitable welcoming courtesies.

When the crystal energy flying boat finally came to a stop and the hatch opened, an old man in a blue wizard robe was already standing outside the flying boat with a smile on his face:

”Long time no see, little Nicole. I heard from your teacher that you were the leader of the team this time, so I took the initiative to come over to welcome you.”

”It’s been a long time indeed, Senior Han Shuang.” Nicole said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

As the leader of this exchange team, she represents the [Tower of Omniscience], so naturally she cannot show too much respect to anyone, even if the other person is the vice-president of the [Grey Tower Academy].

Rorschach also took a look at the old man in blue robe at this time:
”Name: Frost”

”Race: Gray Tower Wizard”

”Position: Five-ringed Moon”

”Ability: Frost World”

”Tip: Although there are three vice-presidents in [Gray Tower Academy], this Vice-president Han Shuang is also regarded as the most promising candidate to succeed the dean. Of course, the prerequisite is that he can break through to the Six-Ring Moon to be qualified.”

……

”They actually sent the vice president directly to receive us. It seems that the status of the High Tower in the Grey Tower Continent is indeed extraordinary.” Luo Xia couldn’t help but be a little surprised.

Compared with those eccentrics who were hiding their talents in the tower, their team was indeed a makeshift group. Among the three intermediate scholars, only the great wizard Bell had reached the normal level of intermediate scholars.

However, it is obvious that Rorschach misunderstood the value of himself and Nicole, because according to the philosophy of the Tower, scholars of the same level are not necessarily better as they are stronger. On the contrary, whoever is younger has the brightest future.

This time, the tower is led by Nicole, the ”former youngest mid-level scholar”, and there is also Rorschach, the ”current youngest mid-level scholar”. From the academy’s point of view, this is a very face-giving arrangement.

As the saying goes, ”One gives a good thing and another gives a good thing”, the college naturally did not hesitate to send a vice president to welcome him, giving Gaota enough face.

”Who are these two?” Vice Dean Han Shuang also noticed the positions of Nicole and Luo Xia and others. He realized that Luo Xia and others were of high status, but he did not recognize them.

”This is the great wizard Bell. He is also an intermediate scholar like me. His teacher is the great scholar ’Jin’.” Nicole introduced him to Vice Dean Han Shuang.

However, her introduction also shocked Rorschach who was standing next to her.

How could a normal person like Great Wizard Bell, who is rare in the tower, be related to a well-known furniture person like Scholar Jin?

He really didn’t expect that these two people would be teacher and student.

”So he’s a disciple of the great scholar ’Jin’. It’s true that a good teacher produces good students, hahaha.” Vice Dean Han Shuang knows very well that flattery will not be worn out.

In response, the great wizard Bell just nodded and said nothing.

This made Vice Dean Frost feel awkward. He thought he might have said something wrong that caused Great Wizard Bell to have such an attitude.

”Don’t get me wrong, he’s just introverted, there’s nothing else to it.” Rorschach explained on behalf of the great wizard Bell.

”It’s okay, it’s okay. The tower... I understand.” Vice Dean Han Shuang didn’t mind it too much. He looked at Luo Xia and smiled, ”Who is this person again?”

Before Rorschach could speak, Nicole said, ”This is Rorschach, the youngest intermediate scholar in our tower!”

”The youngest intermediate scholar? That shouldn’t be... cough cough.” Vice Dean Han Shuang said halfway and used a dry cough to cover up his embarrassment.

Because he just then remembered that the last person with this name was Nicole, who was reminiscing about the past with him.

No matter how he evaluates it, it is inappropriate.

Fortunately, Nicole noticed his embarrassment and said with a smile, ”Don’t be embarrassed, Senior Frost. Rorschach and I are very good friends, and I invited him here this time.”

”That’s good. I thought I had said something wrong again.” Vice Dean Han Shuang said with a smile, ”Everyone, don’t stand on this flying boat for now. Let’s go to the banquet and sit down and chat. I have prepared a lot of delicious food and wine.”

”Senior Han Shuang, please make the arrangements. We will follow the host’s wishes.” Nicole said very cooperatively. Vice Dean Han Shuang smiled and nodded, then took Luo Xia and the others off the flying boat and introduced them to the students around them:

”These people are all honored guests of the [Tower of Omniscience]. They may stay with us for a while and give you lessons occasionally. You must respect them as much as you respect me. If I find out that anyone of them is causing trouble, I will punish them severely. Do you understand?!”

”Understood!” the students said in unison.

After Luo Xia stepped off the flying boat, he glanced at the students who were watching the visitors from the tower, and soon saw a familiar figure.

……

When Jin Kala brought his father Gustav and Lei Long who happened to be with Gustav to the gate of the academy, they saw Vice President Han Shuang walking out of the crystal energy flying boat from afar and said a few simple words.

Moreover, Jin Kara was very sharp-eyed and saw a very familiar figure behind Vice President Han Shuang, so he raised his hand and pointed in that direction, stammering: ”Luo, Luo, Luo...”

”presumptuous!”

A low shout interrupted Jin Kara. The speaker was a high-level wizard apprentice named Jeff, who was also the best in his class. He had always been competing with Gustav and Lei Long!

Since it is a competition, conflicts are inevitable.

Although Jin Kara is only a junior wizard apprentice, as Gustav’s only son, he usually gets along well in the academy.

But in the eyes of people like Jeff who were at odds with Gustav, this disappointing son naturally became a breakthrough point to deal with him.

Just like now, Jeff is obviously planning to take advantage of the situation.

”Jeff, don’t go too far!” Lei Long glared at Jeff and scolded him in a low voice. Obviously, he didn’t want to alarm Vice President Han Shuang.

Although Jin Kara’s actions just now were indeed a bit rash, it was nothing as long as it didn’t alarm Vice President Han Shuang and the others.

But Jeff now clearly wants to make a big deal out of a small matter. As a fellow Aquaman, Lei Long naturally stands on Gustav’s side at this time.

”I went too far? Vice Dean Han Shuang just said not to make trouble, and this kid who doesn’t know etiquette pointed his finger at the distinguished guest. Who went too far?!” Jeff’s voice became higher and higher in pitch as he finished speaking.

This action naturally made Lei Long even more angry!
Gustav stared at Jeff and said word by word: ”Are you going to fight me to the death, Jeff?”

Gustav’s eyes made Jeff feel vaguely regretful.

Because he also realized that even if Gustav’s son was in trouble, it would not be a problem as long as Gustav did not force himself to step forward.

By then, although he would have made Gustav suffer a setback, it would not have had any substantial impact. Instead, Gustav would regard him as a thorn in his side.

This seems to be a bit uneconomical...

But now, it was too late for him to regret.

Because one of the big shots in the [Tower of All-Knowing] pointed directly at this side and asked Vice Dean Han Shuang:

”Is there anything going on over there?”

Upon hearing this, Vice Dean Han Shuang couldn’t help but frown slightly and looked over here: ”What’s going on?”

When the people in front heard this, they immediately scattered!
In this way, Jeff and his small group naturally appeared in front of the bigwigs of the [Tower of Omniscience] and Vice Dean Frost.

Although Jeff already felt a little regretful, he knew very well that there was no way out now. If he didn’t offend Gustav, he would be the one to take the blame.

How could he, a mere high-level wizard apprentice, bear such a huge blame?

This was an exchange event between the two major wizarding organizations, the Grey Tower Academy and the Omniscient Tower. The person in charge of the reception was Vice President Frost, one of the three vice presidents of the academy!

This was a person that even his teacher, a second-ring Morning Star-level academy instructor, had to treat with respect. Who the hell was he?
So, he immediately answered, ”Reporting to the dean, I saw this guy suddenly pointing his finger at the distinguished guest from the tower, and I was afraid that he would ruin our friendship, so I criticized him. I didn’t expect Lei Long and Gustav to threaten me for this.”

”I remember you. You are Eddie’s student, I think your name is Jeff?” Vice Dean Han Shuang said after a little thought.

As a Five Ring Moon Star, his memory must be extremely strong.

Even if it was a wizard apprentice like Jeff who was not even a Morning Star, he still remembered the other person’s name.

”It’s me, it’s me!” Jeff was very excited when he heard that Vice President Han Shuang recognized him.

”As for you two, you are Field and Ruby’s students respectively, right?” Vice Dean Frost looked at Gustav and Lei Long respectively.

Field is Gustav’s teacher, a senior instructor in the academy with three-ring Morning Star level.

Ruby is Lei Long’s teacher, and like Jeff’s teacher, he is also a second-ring Morning Star level instructor.

”Yes, Dean!” Lei Long and Gustav also responded with their heads down.

”So, is what he just said true?” Vice Dean Han Shuang looked directly at the two of them.

When Jeff heard that Vice Dean Han Shuang actually asked Gustav and the others, he suddenly became anxious and said quickly: ”Dean, I...”

”You’d better not speak until I ask you a question. I don’t like people interrupting me.” Vice Dean Han Shuang said lightly.

”Yes!” Jeff swallowed his words back immediately.

Vice Dean Frost looked at Gustav again at this time: ”Really?”

There was a hint of struggle in Gustav’s eyes!
Because if he answered yes, then Jin Kara, the unfilial son, would definitely be in big trouble, but if he answered no, the final result would most likely be that both father and son would be in big trouble.

That would be exactly what Jeff wanted.

This put him in a dilemma.

”He’s right, I did it!” Jin Kara then took the initiative to stand up and acknowledge Jeff’s accusation.

Gustav looked at his son in astonishment, and immediately realized that his son wanted to take responsibility for his own actions and did not want to implicate him.

This made him feel extremely guilty.

Jeff also felt like he had eaten a fly, because killing Jin Kara was meaningless to him.

He wanted Gustav to suffer as well, but judging from the current situation, that was unlikely...

Not only that, he also gained two mortal enemies.

This can be seen just by looking at the cold eyes of Gustav and Lei Long.

I’m afraid the fight between them will continue until one side dies!
