Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 473: Nether Grasp

To everyone in the third layer, having an X-rated Geneline was an achievement of power and glory.

But Almond knew, or rather, was sure that X-rated Genelines were like a list of potential targets of the Grimworld Tree.

They were X-rated because their originators had that X-factor, a higher chance of reaching the peak of power, thereby evolving their lifeform to the level where it was worth it for the Grimworld Tree to completely absorb them as its nutrition.

Naturally, no one else shared Almond’s views.

To many people on the higher floors, Regalon familia became an eyesore.

They were toiling away for decades, and a recently risen familia already developed an X-rated Geneline?! What the hell?

Those from the 11th to 15th floor, the familias closest to achieving X-rated Geneline, especially envied the Regalons.

And one familia among them—the Vatenten Familia—decided to make a bold move.

When the announcement rang, the Chief God of the Vatenten familia called for a meeting.

”What’s the matter, Chief?”

”In the near future, the Regalon familia is bound to rise up to here and further. They even have over two billion familia members, making their reserve of God Energy high.”

”Indeed. Do you perhaps want to propose an alliance to them?”

”Making an alliance early will allow us to get more benefits.”

”I like the idea.”

The Chief God’s face darkened and everyone quieted down.

”We clawed our way to this 11th floor in a century, and we should have reached the 10th floor already, but we have failed to develop in the path that would lead us to being an X-rated.”

Everyone remained silent.

”And none of you seem to care anymore as well. Like many others, you have embraced this life and don’t have ambition to rise high.”

*Slam!*

Smashing his palm on the table, the Chief God’s two curvy obsidian horns glowed red and blue while his folded crystal wings unfurled ragingly.

’It looks like our Chief God decided to wake up today.’

’The Regalons seem to have triggered him.’

”Listen!” the Chief God narrowed his eyes before looking at one of the members at the table. ”Geron, go and find out the location of Regalon familia’s people. The majority of their people are not strong enough to enter the Abyssal Grim Tower, so they should be in one of the cosmos of the cosmo ring. Utilize the Nether Grasp organization, and find me their location as soon as possible.”

Geron vanished.

The others were startled.

”Chief, why do you want to know their location?”

The Chief God stood up, causing others to also stand up.

”Gather the army and weapons. We will eradicate all Regalons that are not in the Abyssal Grim World.”

”What?!”

Everyone was dumbfounded.

”Chief, please reconsider.”

”That’s right, chief. Doing something like that will put us at absolute odds with the Regalons.”

”That’s right. The first familia they will hunt after coming here on this floor will be us.”

”Please reconsider, Chief Noryan.”

The Chief God narrowed his eyes. ”Shut up!”

”Everyone is fucking too comfortable in this familia, all because of my hard work. So now, we will make enemies with the Regalons!”

”And if you want to survive the future, you all better start working, training, and making goddamn progress!”

”For starters, we need our Geneline at X-rank before they come here or we are doomed for sure.” Chief God Noryan said with a maddening glint in his eyes.

...

In the Nether Grasp Hall’s 11th-floor branch, Chief God Noryan sat across from the branch leader.

”Did you find them?”

”We did indeed.” The Branch Leader smiled as a cunning glint passed through his eyes, the feathery scales on his body changing patterns. ”To be honest, your approach to this is not ideal, but I understand why you personally want to go there and incite the Regalons. You want the people of your familia to feel the existential danger by making an enemy with the strongest potential observed so far.”

”However, I have an alternative idea. First, you should make a rule in your geneline to never reveal anything about them making enemies with the Regalons.”

”Huh?” Chief God Noryan frowned, confused. ”What do you mean by that? Why do you want me to do that?”

”You see, since we are making things hard for the Regalons, we might as well make it a bit harder.”

The Branch Leader’s eyes glinted as he continued.”We will completely wipe out the planet where the 2.2 billion Regalons are residing. Nobody will ever find out who did that except for us. Let the Regalon find their enemy with a tough approach rather than giving them yourself on a platter.”

”Meanwhile, you can tell your clansmen that you were behind the attack, but keep them shut with the geneline rule branding.”

Chief God Noryan raised his eyebrows. ”Why do you want to do this? Do you have enmity with the Regalons?”

The Branch Leader smiled. ”You see, previously, the Achromatic familia’s Chief Goddess, Lily, came to us regarding the Myriad Star Alliance. Given her potential, and how we have observed and evaluated her ever since she became Chief Goddess of the Ruined Achromatic familia, we wanted her to marry into our familia and give us some offspring.”

”I see,” Chief God Noryan narrowed his eyes. ”Naturally, she must have refused. And then you want to make an offer with the Regalon to give us up in exchange for her?”

The Branch Leader laughed out loud and shook his head.

”You are completely wrong.”

”You see,” the Branch Leader’s eyes turned calculatingly cold. ”With her being the wife of Chief God of the Regalon family now, and our evaluation of her and his mentality so far, we are one hundred percent sure that the Regalons will one day attack us once they arrive on the 4th floor because of the offer we made to Lily. She is the type to bear the grudge because we flat out told her that any task she wants our organization to complete, the price will be the same.”

”Oh? Haha, that’s interesting. So you want to erase Regalons in the end?”

”In the end? Yes. Let them come up and then we’ll play with them.” The Branch Leader smiled. ”Trying to deal with them on the lower floors will result in unpleasant loss, in our standard.”

”That said...” Chief God Noryan caressed his beard. ”Will anyone from the top thirty floors intend to make a move on the Regalon familia?”

”The enemies of Roxenvale Familia are making moves for sure,” the Branch Leader said with a chuckle. ”We already had a few inquiries from them, and one of them also posted a task, which you know I cannot disclose.”

”Roxenvale? Humph, they were our enemies before we defeated them and ascended.”

Standing up, Chief God Noryan stretched his hand and smiled. ”Well then, let’s execute our plan. Go ahead and destroy the planet. Make sure no one lives.”

”Initially, I wanted to livestream our army and weapons destroying the planet, and me taunting the Regalons.”

”That does sound fun. Adding to the fact that Regalons can revive other Regalons using familia summon that cost ten times more...wait, this is good.” The Branch Leader grinned, deviously so. ”The more troubles to Regalons, the better. And if this Chief God is as we have evaluated, he will revive all that we have killed. This is good.”

Seeing his expression, Chief God Noryan laughed. ”Yeah, that’s good. Are you going to announce that anonymously?”

”Yes. We will spread it through several news organizations at once.” The Branch Leader cunningly nodded. ”We can make it completely anonymous just like we do everything else.”

”Cheers to Nether Grasp. So, when will the destruction and this announcement hit the news?”

The Branch Leader waved his hand to his left in response as a screen appeared, showing a planet.

”This is the planet. It’s a live feed from our branch’s people on that cosmos. And...there you go.”

A countdown of ten seconds appeared on the screen.

”You’re doing it now?” Chief God Noryan raised his eyebrows while envy flashed in his eyes. ’Fucking 4th-floor familia, Nether Grasp...what kind of resources and developments they have made so far?’

”Yes. To prevent breaking rules, we use a certain device with a technique that isolates the space around the planet and breaks the bonds of space. This activates instant space recovery of the Grimworld and completely wipes out everything in the covered range.”

As he finished speaking, the countdown reached five.

Four.
