Chapter 198: Chapter 156: The Whereabouts of Sister Ruo and... New Magic_2He put down the cards and continued to speak, ”You see, after each performance, I make everyone believe in science.”

”Does anyone believe it?” Su Xiaoou whispered softly.

”...” Jiang Shu thought for a moment, and it seemed that indeed not many people believed, so he cleared his throat, ”Ahem, that is their business, you should know very well, I don’t perform any ’magic’, it’s all science.”

”Mm.” Su Xiaoou nodded, she readily admitted her error, ”I know I was wrong, I was too tricky this time.”

”Remember to donate the money.” Jiang Shu recalled the money she just mentioned, ”One thousand three hundred and forty, not a penny less, remember to donate it to the official charity organization of the Social Sequence, and use your personal name for the record.”

Lonely City’s charity organizations were divided between official and private. Generally speaking, the charity organizations of the Social Sequence had slightly fewer loopholes since their accounts had to be made public and were subjected to stricter supervision.

”Mm-hm.” Su Xiaoou breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that Jiang Shu wasn’t very angry, which reassured her.

However, she had no choice but to honestly perform on the streets.

”By the way, where did you buy this tarot deck?” Jiang Shu pushed the cards in front of him, and the whole deck spread evenly across the desk, forming a straight line.

The quality of this deck was quite good.

”It’s... from a Tarot Meeting, it was expensive, but of high quality, and Du Yuyi also taught me some divination skills, though in reality it was more like deceit,” Su Xiaoou confessed everything.

You just mentioned deceiving people, right?

No, you just said Du Yuyi, right?

”Du Yuyi?” Jiang Shu, having just reviewed the information, read out the name.

Su Xiaoou nodded, ”Yes, she’s the president of a Tarot Meeting. You know her too?”

”Uh, no, I’ve only heard of her,” Jiang Shu certainly wouldn’t tell Su Xiaoou that he was planning to consult Du Yuyi.

No, it was Wolf who was planning to consult.

He asked again, ”What do you know about her? Tell me.”

”Well, she’s a Tarot Card Master, but some people say she’s very capable, others say she’s a charlatan. It’s mixed, but she’s definitely a good person,” Su Xiaoou firmly believed. ”She may seem indifferent and often fierce, but she brings food to the local homeless kids every week, and I’ve received food from her too.”

She blinked, seemingly recalling something, and then sighed. ”But after I became an apprentice, I seldom went to her street. The last time I saw her, she didn’t recognize me, yet she still looks the same as she did ten years ago.”

”What else do you know?” asked Jiang Shu.

Su Xiaoou shook her head, ”Du Yuyi is mysterious, that’s all I know.”

”Alright, you can go,” Jiang Shu waved his hand, indicating Su Xiaoou should go do whatever she was supposed to do.

”Teacher, goodbye.” Su Xiaoou waved and left the Magic House, leaving Jiang Shu deep in thought.

Jiang Shu reclined in his chair, his gaze towards the ceiling.

Listening to this, Du Yuyi didn’t seem like a bad person, but how she was connected to Clo remained unknown.

He would worry about it later; after all, it was just a matter for the day after tomorrow.

He logged onto the police database using the ID card and secret key borrowed from Wolf and started searching for some information.

First was the information about Clo, but after searching numerous keywords, he found nothing relevant.

Most of the cases involved his deeds during his Mechanical Disciple days—planning attacks, occupying territories, human modification...

All of it undeniably demon-like behavior, the epitome of a villain, the kind whose death at the hands of a superhero would bring no remorse.

From this information alone, Jiang Shu couldn’t find anything useful. The only thing notable was Clo’s imprisonment, which seemed more like a show.

No one knew why he had appeared a thousand miles away from Thirteen District in the First District, yet he successfully ascended to the top of Sky Tower.

And then...

He set a fire there, but nothing was burned.

Then he was caught.

Sentenced and imprisoned, all done briskly.

Five years of learning, improving, waiting for a Magician’s arrival, systematically.

”...” Jiang Shu pressed his temples as he looked at these cases, trying to understand Clo’s mindset, but clearly, whether brilliant or insane, it was hard to associate with his thought process.

It seemed like there were two Clos, actually, maybe even some clichéd dual personality setup.

On the contrary, the cases related to Police Chief Dick Tang were more intriguing.

Like a beacon of light in Lonely City, he burst onto the scene five years ago. After solving a serial murder case that baffled the police for months, his fame skyrocketed, and within five years, his case-solving rate reached a hundred percent, a myth-like figure, truly fitting the mantle of Crime Buster.

Moreover, he was the only remaining heir of the illustrious Dick Family.

Well, besides him, the Dick Family had no direct lineage left as all direct members had died in a disaster many years ago.

Now, the power within the Dick Family was held by relatives who had moved from other regions, but as long as Dick Tang was alive, he was the designated heir of the family.

A readily available position of power, yet Dick Tang had no interest in it; he only wanted to solve cases.
