The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 177 - 147 Deception Group’s Plan_2
Chapter 177: Chapter 147 Deception Group’s Plan_2”However, the sense of security within Albert’s heart had been eroded away by a series of shocks; he began to understand that if he couldn’t get the fox to cancel the warrant against him, he would never have peace.

He had just considered hiding his identity and fleeing to another district, but...

In a place like Lonely City, without this job and without enough savings, even if he fled far away, he wouldn’t be able to survive.

The company had given him a sum of hush money, but it wasn’t nearly enough to purchase property and live comfortably afar.

For employees like them, their jobs weren’t directly assigned by the Main Brain, but required passing a series of assessments to achieve a score. Then, the Main Brain would offer both the company and the individual a choice, and only if both agreed could the person be employed.

Even with enough ability, it was difficult to find work when hiding one’s identity and unable to disclose past work experience to new employers.

Moreover, he was really just a stamp-pusher; his ability to handle official duties wasn’t exceptional.

No, the best way would still be to make the fox cancel his bounty...

If the fox knew that he was completely unrelated to this matter, he surely wouldn’t want to spend millions worth of goods for his life anymore!

Perhaps there would be a turnaround.

”Police Chief Charles, I... I want to make a report, I report Basel Bell, he is the mastermind and executor of the entire incident, and only he has the ability!” Suddenly, Albert gritted his teeth and spoke the truth, ”I have evidence that he is the mastermind, and there were four others with him... no, three, as one is already dead by the fox’s hand. I can hand over the evidence to you and serve as a tainted witness, on the condition that you must make this information public! I don’t want to die, I really haven’t done anything!”

”Hmm? You mean to say... wait, let me think, you’re saying Basel Bell is the mastermind?” Charles furrowed his brows, but then continued, ”As for revealing evidence, it is your right, and of course, we, the police, will not interfere. Moreover, if we at the Seventh District Police Station, we might even award you a flag of honor.”

With that, he pointed to the watch on Albert’s wrist, ”You’re free to use the watch, we have no right to interfere.”

”The evidence isn’t on the watch, I stored it on a USB, in my personal office. The office’s password is 2343, and there’s a hidden compartment under the desk, the password for that is 3343.” Albert rushed through his explanation, then kept urging Police Chief Charles, ”Quick, apprehend Bell and the others, put a complete stop to this upheaval...”

”We’ll go,” replied Police Chief Charles, nodding. Then he pulled out an anesthetic gun and shot Albert with it.

”You? Charles...” Albert looked at Police Chief Charles in shock, but before he could finish speaking, a wave of dizziness came over him, taking his consciousness.

Charles caught his body, carelessly laying him on the ground, then removed the Human Skin Mask from his face, revealing a delicate and elegant female face.

She turned her back and put on the Mu Jin flower mask.

Although there were only brainless mechanical Disciples here, she still carefully covered her face.

Just in case the mechanical Disciple’s Prosthetic Eye took a photo and sent it to the fox, just in case the fox learned her identity, that would not be fun.

Mu Jin changed into comfortable sportswear, then opened her watch and sent a ”OK” to an account.

Her mission here was already complete, and this part was the easiest in the task.

The fox had previously investigated Albert, using special channels to learn about his unexplained income, and suspected that he probably knew the truth.

Following that, a plan was born.

Swap Albert out, ”invite” him to this temporarily arranged building.

The environment here had been arranged to closely resemble that of the Keyin Company building, and since they had kept Albert in the dark about the outside world the entire way, he hadn’t suspected a thing.

Here, all she had to do was continually guide him to reveal the truth and produce the evidence.

Everything had gone smoothly; she hadn’t even needed to lead him actively, for Albert had eagerly disclosed everything himself—he couldn’t wait to completely disassociate himself from the case.

However, the task here was really quite boring.

Mu Jin sighed; the truly tense and exciting tasks had all been taken by those three big men, and she couldn’t refute their reasoning.

Ha, hope some trouble arises.

—

At the Keyin Company’s top-floor office.

”Hisss—Sizzle-Hiss—”

Mr. Albert, who was sitting in the center, changed his sitting posture, while simultaneously, his watch emitted several bursts of static.

”Hmm? What’s wrong? Mr. Albert?” Police Chief Charles looked at Albert.

”Nothing much, my watch is a bit old and has some small issues.” Albert shook his head, and then he suddenly said, ”Police Chief Charles, I need to use the restroom.”

”Hmm, Police Chief Joyce, accompany Mr. Albert and ensure his safety.” Charles issued the order, and out stepped Joyce, like Wolf, one of the top-performing officers at the police station.

”Yes.” Joyce nodded.

”Then thank you, Police Chief Joyce.” Albert thanked her, then followed behind Joyce.

The recent noises—”hiss” and ”sizzle”—were different messages, and when decoded and connected together, they meant—”
