Hero of Darkness

Chapter 1210: The Deity’s Decree

The deity, which has been revered in the history of the Abyss Empire ever since its founding over 10 thousand years ago, made a grand and tantamount declaration in front of all the witnesses, his bellows echoing throughout the empire via the projection screens and broadcasting speakers as he suddenly declared Kahn as the Supreme Leader of the Abyss Empire.

Now, out of nowhere... what did the word ’Supreme Leader’ mean in the current power structure paradigm of the Abyss Empire, where there had been 3 different ruling forces for centuries at this point?

Because regardless of which faction one was part of... the moniker simply meant that someone who was even above their respective highest position of authority.

”Su... Supreme Leader?” asked the 3rd Prince, baffled and shaking in disbelief.

”No... that can’t be. This was not supposed to be!” said the president of the Senate, shocked to his core.

The Doom Templars were just as shaken, but due to the fact that Kahn was their Cult Leader, it struck more as an amazement than a stifling predicament.

Now, even a literal Deity was supporting Kahn, the Hero of Darkness.

******************

Minutes passed, no one dared to speak, and everyone was absorbing this decree in their own way.

First, if it were just Kahn directly declaring himself as the Supreme Leader, there would be objections, opposition, and maybe even fights.

But who was the one to make that declaration?

Was it Kahn, the official spokesperson of God of Darkness? Or the High Priestess, the paramount figure of the Cult of Darkborne?

No, it was none other than the Envoy of Death.

A deity that has been existing for billions of years, even before all of their species even came to life in this world.

Unlike Kahn and Morrigan, Jeoseung Saja wasn’t just a monumental figure... no, he was the one who actually saw and spoke with the God of Darkness.

The very being that has been by their God’s side even before their entire empire or religion was formed.

If not him, who else could be considered as the testament of God of Darkness’ will and directives for all of them?

His word was the final commandment, the final purpose they all had to follow no matter which part of the society or forces they belonged to.

There was no room to even raise questions, even later during the Great War. All they had to do was unilaterally accept their roles and fates.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

People started kneeling regardless of their faction, including imperials and ministers. This was no place to have a conversation or a debate because anyone who tried to defy the deity’s decree would be subjected to irreversible scrutiny and ostracization, even by the members of their own forces.

Everyone who worshipped both the God of Darkness and Jeoseung Saja would take their word as the last one, and many would even sacrifice their own lives to follow both of their wills.

[Just like that... It’s gonna save me months of work to gain everyone’s support. It was a good thing I found you, great Envoy.] spoke Kahn to the statue of the deity he was holding in his right hand.

[Hehe! This is just the first step within the part of the plan. I, too, would hate to see petty squabbling within the empire when our true enemies are somewhere else.] responded the envoy.

In truth... When Kahn was in the Rakos Empire, the plan he made initially with the Revenant Sovereign could not have predicted meeting the deity.

After he met the Envoy of Death and God of Darkness later in the Eternal Abyss... his plans changed and he even discussed using Jeoseung Saja

While the original plan had many political maneuvers involved, similar to the ones he pulled in the Rakos Empire as he became the Emperor... the deity’s existence simply bypassed the majority of them just by his words alone.

It not only saved Kahn months of time to gain trust of other factions, have their support as well as compliance at his beck and call... it simply skipped half the storyline and effectively removed unnecessary and repeated plots from the whole arc.

That was why he created this show for the entire Abyss Empire to watch, as they would remember it for the rest of their lives.

”Will there be any objections or acts of defiance?” asked the Envoy of Death, his mighty voice reverberating within the entire capital Naraka.

The deity’s gaze shifted towards the people kneeling, and just for a short moment, they stayed on the pavilion housing the guests from the other two factions.

Even the short veil on the envoy’s black hat could not hide his piercing, cold eyes filled with dread and destruction as all the princes and the ministers felt his massive sword slashing towards them.

They were simply rooted on the spot, regardless of how high their rank was, as they felt like they had literally died in that short moment.

Quiver!

Quiver!

Even the 7th-stage saints barely managed to maintain their standing while most of the others from their respective sides slumped down in terror, trembling with no hope left in their eyes as if they were brought back from hell.

The president and the 3 princes were no exceptions.

That small moment of locking their eyes with the Jeoseung Saja was not a coincidence... no, it was an ultimatum given to them by the Envoy of Death.

”We will follow your will, the almighty and divine Envoy of Death!” shouted Calavanius zealously with the top of his machine lungs.

”We will serve and obey!” shouted Tyverax as he too, bellowed with fervor.

”I, the High Priestess of the Cult of Darkborne, declare our undying obedience to the great Envoy’s will!” iterated Morrigan Morningstar with eyes filled with vehemence.

And finally, it was the one corner where all the important figures had their eyes focused on...

The broadcasting devices then turned and focused their lenses on the guests during this ceremony.

Everyone from the Imperial faction was also kneeling and quickly responded...

”We pledge our lifelong loyalty to see the great Envoy of Death’s command become reality!” shouted the 3rd prince.

The other two princes also swore and lastly, it was the senate ministers that the entire empire watched keenly...

”We vow on our lives and everyone we represent. We shall follow the Supreme Leader!” shouted the President with a zealous tone as if he really meant it.

People across the empire grasped the situation and accepted the decree, embedding it in their minds collectively.

And finally, it was Kahn who spoke...

”Will you raise your heads proudly and follow me in the great crusade that awaits us?!” he beckoned with an authoritative voice.

”Will you fight with me as we tear down every foe that stands between our lives and our future?!” he asked with a stern and determined tone.

”If yes, then steel your hearts and bodies. We will march united as we reclaim our true place in Vantrea!” spoke Kahn with a noble and domineering aura.

”For God of Darkness!” he exclaimed.

”For the Envoy of Death!” he raged as his warcry echoed.

And finally, his aura burst forth at its full capacity as Kahn raised Lucifer high above his head with his left arm and shouted with a hardened resolve...

”For Vindication!”
