91: Chapter 91 General Zhao’s Resolute ActionJust as Mayor Lin and General Zhao’s party were inside the biological research institute, following a nationwide announcement issued by the Great Xia Kingdom, the entire population of over a billion people in Great Xia was in shock!

”Nationwide Level 1 combat readiness!”

”Is our Great Xia Kingdom at war with some country? How could we enter combat readiness?! And it’s Level 1 at that!”

”Today isn’t April Fool’s Day, is it...”

”April Fool’s, my foot! Every official announcement is broadcasting this news right now!”

”The upper echelons of Great Xia must be planning something big lately. There have been many videos online showing large amounts of troops moving around cities nationwide... We had better be obedient, trust the official announcements, and not leave the city for the next few days...”

”Yeah... I just don’t know what such a big movement is for.”

The people of Great Xia Kingdom were in a panic. The official announcement only told them that the Great Xia Kingdom had entered Level 1 combat readiness, without providing much explanation.

This left all the citizens of Great Xia feeling confused, while vaguely sensing that the Great Xia Kingdom was about to undergo a drastic change...

General Zhao of the military walked out of the biological laboratory and immediately contacted the intelligence department of the Great Xia Military Department to verify the authenticity of the information regarding the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle.

The result he received left him greatly astonished.

”I never expected that such a powerful creature actually existed in this world...”

The military intelligence department had confirmed that the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle was indeed as powerful as the leaders of Jianghai City had claimed.

Their Great Xia Kingdom had even held a high-level meeting about the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle over a month ago, but General Zhao, being a general guarding the borders, was unaware of it.

”No wonder the military leader urgently transferred me to the south... So that’s how it is...”

As a general who had been through hundreds of battles, large and small, he quickly began to devise a strategy.

His purpose in coming to Jianghai City this time was to clear out the wild beasts in the mountains for hundreds of miles around the outskirts of Jianghai City.

He had originally thought this was just a simple mission, but now he knew it would be the most severe mission he had ever accepted.

Facing such a monster that exceeded human imagination, it was said that the intelligence department had defined this creature as a Class D Fierce Beast.

Although he didn’t know what a Class D Fierce Beast was, he knew that the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle was very powerful.

This made him feel immense pressure, so he quickly sought out the person in charge of the Jianghai City military department, wanting to obtain more valuable intelligence.

”Hello... General Zhao, may I ask if you really came to Jianghai City to eliminate the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle?”

Facing the question from the person in charge of the Jianghai City military, General Zhao slowly nodded.

”Colonel, our mission time is tight. The Great Xia Military Department only gave me half a month. This time, our mission is to clear out all the wild beasts in the mountain forests within several hundred miles of the outskirts of Jianghai City.”

”I would like to hear your suggestions for eliminating the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle...”

”This...”

The Jianghai City military officer looked at General Zhao in front of him with an unnatural expression. While he was indeed confused about this abrupt mission from the Great Xia Military Department, he felt more worry than anything else.

”If General Zhao’s mission objective is truly that... then please make sure you have a hundred percent certainty of eliminating the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle!”

”Otherwise, if the White-Feathered Giant Eagle escapes, it will be a disaster for our Jianghai City.”

General Zhao nodded, as this was the reason he had come here.

He said righteously, ”Rest assured, I will absolutely not let the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle threaten the people of Jianghai City.”

”That’s good...”

The Jianghai City military major breathed a sigh of relief.

”The White-Feathered Giant Eagle seems to have appeared out of thin air on the outskirts of Jianghai City... We have investigated for a long time and still don’t know where its original habitat is.”

”For over a month, it had kept to itself and didn’t interfere with us in Jianghai City, but it has appeared before our people in Jianghai City several times now...”

”Every time it appeared, it displayed speed and power that exceeded everyone’s imagination.”

”The last time it appeared before our people in Jianghai City, it even revealed a strange magical power that could leave people’s minds blank, and the range of influence was surprisingly several kilometers...”

General Zhao, who was listening intently with narrowed eyes, suddenly interrupted.

”Wait! Major, you aren’t joking, are you?!”

”General Zhao, I know you don’t believe it. Watch this video first.”

The Jianghai City major seemed to have expected this, as he pressed the remote control in his hand, and an image was projected onto the wall in front of the two.

In the footage, a tiger helicopter flew high, soaring freely in the sky, clearly in a normal flight state.

Suddenly, a burst of brilliant, dazzling golden light appeared in the footage... The aircraft plunged straight down toward the mountain forest below!

Boom!

An explosion sounded, and the footage was instantly swallowed by waves of fire, fading to darkness...

In the few seconds before the lens went dark, a blurry white shadow appeared in the footage.

General Zhao looked at the dark wall in front of him, his thick eyebrows knitted together like a rope.

”Major, are you saying... that it was because of the appearance of this golden light that the tiger helicopter crashed?”

”That is indeed the case. There are some other videos here, General Zhao. Would you like to see them?”

General Zhao nodded.

A few minutes later, after watching several videos, General Zhao’s face turned as dark as charcoal.

”The hell is this a creature from Earth?! It must be an alien monster!”

”Not only is the White-Feathered Giant Eagle so powerful... that golden lion looks even more powerful than the White-Feathered Giant Eagle...”

The major was somewhat helpless. ”That golden Male Lion is the culprit that caused heavy losses to our Jianghai City Assault Company. This Male Lion is indeed very powerful; after all, it consumed dozens of our compatriots...”

Because the Jianghai City videos of Ye Yang only captured that period when he was a lion, they were unaware of the situation where Ye Yang’s body size had grown and changed at this time.

Suddenly, a cold light shot out from a pair of tiger-leopard-like eyes.

”You just said this Male Lion consumed dozens of our Great Xia compatriots?! Then where is it now?!”

A few beads of cold sweat broke out on the major’s forehead. ”According to satellite positioning, no signal of the Male Lion’s movement has been detected. It must have been eliminated by the White-Feathered Giant Eagle.”

”That’s good...”

General Zhao withdrew his aura, his heart trembling slightly.

”Then how many people has the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle consumed?”

The major shook his head. ”It hasn’t consumed a single one. Only a group of mercenaries and a private team went to provoke it, so they were hunted and killed by the White-Feathered Giant Eagle.”

”Oh?! That is truly strange...”

One must know that such a powerful creature was only a little over a hundred miles away from Jianghai City, which for the supersonic White-Feathered Giant Eagle, would only take about ten minutes.

”However, even if the White-Feathered Giant Eagle hasn’t hurt anyone, it must die this time!”

His eyes narrowed, his emotions surged, and his blood began to boil!

To be able to eliminate such a powerful target and challenge himself to complete such an arduous mission made him very excited...
