Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

53: Chapter 53 The Astonishing Choice of the City Chief of Jianghai”I choose... three!”

Lin, sitting in the front row of the meeting room, blurted this out without hesitation after hearing Leader Xia speak from the head seat.

Upon hearing his decision, the others in the meeting room were not so calm!

”What?! The Jianghai City Mayor actually chose the third proposal!”

”Why is that...”

”Damn it, we were clearly prepared to pay a price to obtain the corpse of the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle from his hands!”

”What exactly is the Jianghai City Mayor trying to do?!”

The meeting room instantly became as noisy as a wet market; whether they were generals from the military, experts and professors from various fields, or other political personnel, none of them understood why the Jianghai City Mayor would make this decision.

”Quiet!”

As soon as the Leader finished speaking, the noisy meeting room returned to the silence from before, only now the gazes they cast toward the Jianghai City Mayor were filled with shock and surprise.

At the beginning of the meeting, most of them felt that the first proposal was the best and simplest: to directly use military force to exterminate that Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle with its monstrous strength.

Otherwise, who knows to what extent this magical White-Feathered Giant Eagle would grow in the future.

A small number of people also agreed with the second proposal; those who agreed were mostly biology professors who wanted to observe the habits of the prehistoric creature more, after all, how could a dead specimen provide more detailed data than a living creature.

As for the third proposal... almost no one agreed with it.

Now there was one, and that was the leader guiding the direction of this meeting, the Jianghai City Mayor!

”Oh... Comrade Lin, I would like to know the reason for your decision?”

Facing the inquiry from the leader at the head seat, a hint of rigor appeared on the tired face of the Jianghai City Mayor, and he took a deep breath.

”Very well, Leader.”

”I believe everyone present knows that the reason for the appearance of the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle on the outskirts of Jianghai City has not yet been investigated, but it must be related to the spiritual energy that appeared in the air of the Blue Star over a month ago!”

”Admittedly, the growth rate of the White-Feathered Giant Eagle is extremely fast... and it possesses a speed that is difficult for human eyes to capture, but our Great Xia Kingdom is fully capable of exterminating it with thunderous force!”

Seeing the passionate tone of the Jianghai City Mayor, the surrounding generals and academicians were even more confused.

Since they could easily exterminate the dangerous Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle, why did he have to choose the third passive proposal?

Only Leader Xia, sitting at the head seat, remained unchanged, a gleam of light flashing in his murky eyes, and a smile appearing on his wrinkled face.

The Jianghai City Mayor continued.

”I know everyone’s confusion, but I want to remind everyone... it is not just the White-Feathered Giant Eagle that has been affected by spiritual energy!”

”To say nothing of distant places, let’s talk about Quanshi City near Jianghai City. Because Quanshi City is geographically close to the Qinling Mountains, a large number of wild beasts have rushed into the city over the past month, causing huge economic damage and casualties!”

The crowd in the meeting room was stunned, because they did indeed know that what the Jianghai City Mayor said was the truth.

Not long ago, dozens of giant Asian elephants walked out of the Qinling Mountains together and rushed into Quanshi City, causing over a hundred casualties!

The size of that group of Asian elephants was a full circle larger than the world’s largest elephants, the African elephants. When they ran, it looked like a stampede of giant beasts; the scene was thrilling and magnificent, and it went straight to the national trending news!

That group of Asian elephants was clearly affected by spiritual energy, their size became larger, and their strength became stronger!

”Comrade Lin, does the matter of the Asian elephants in Quanshi City have anything to do with the current handling measures for the White-Feathered Giant Eagle on the outskirts of Jianghai City?” asked a general.

”It does!” The Jianghai City Mayor nodded heavily, looking firmly at the stunned general and the surprised crowd.

”You may not know that although the geographical location of Jianghai City is not as close to the Qinling Mountains as Quanshi City, we have the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve occupying nearly a thousand miles in the suburbs.”

”The Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve is one of the world’s leading large-scale reserves, with at least hundreds of thousands of wild animals... Because of the appearance of spiritual energy, we were worried about large-scale beast tides attacking Jianghai City...”

”However...”

”Until now, there has not been a single instance of large wild beasts infiltrating Jianghai City!”

As soon as his voice fell, voices erupted one after another in the meeting room!

Because everyone was shocked!

”What?!”

”Old Lin, are you kidding me?!”

”Comrade Lin, now is not the time to change the subject...”

The appearance of spiritual energy in the air of the Blue Star kept those of them guarding cities across the Great Xia Kingdom busy, relocating people from deep mountains, resisting beast tides of all sizes, and preventing wild beasts from infiltrating human cities.

Facing the questioning from the many generals and academicians in the meeting room, a strange smile appeared on Old Lin’s tired face.

The generals and academicians were not stupid, and they quickly made the connection...

”Could it be because of that White-Feathered Giant Eagle!” exclaimed an elderly academician!

”That’s right, it is because of the White-Feathered Giant Eagle!”

The Jianghai City Mayor nodded in admission, then looked at the calm Leader and said, ”We were surprised to find that no wild beast in the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve dares to step into the area around the White-Feathered Giant Eagle’s Divine Phoenix Mountain. This means that with the White-Feathered Giant Eagle present, Jianghai City will not face the danger of beast tides. This is why I chose the third proposal!”

The Jianghai City Mayor continued to explain.

”I am not entirely entrusting the protection of Jianghai City to the White-Feathered Giant Eagle, but judging from its behavior, the White-Feathered Giant Eagle will not easily leave its territory. This allows our Jianghai City to save a large amount of resources to defend against beast tides and accelerate the construction of other defensive fortifications.”

”So that’s how it is...”

”This seems to make sense...”

Hearing this explanation, the hundreds of people in the spacious meeting room understood.

It sounded incredible that the Prehistoric White-Feathered Great Eagle had become a barrier for Jianghai City against beast tides, but it was indeed the truth, and it had been proven by time.

In fact... they were all upper-level figures of the Great Xia Kingdom and had access to much more information than ordinary people.

In the future, spiritual energy would only become more concentrated, so wild beasts would only become more terrifying, even including the fierce beasts that could destroy cities mentioned in reports from mysterious organizations not long ago.

Those were fierce beasts even more powerful than prehistoric creatures!

But now, with the White-Feathered Giant Eagle present, the stability of Jianghai City would far exceed that of most cities. If the White-Feathered Giant Eagle maintained such a fast growth rate, Jianghai City might become a city safer than Longcheng, the capital of the Great Xia Kingdom.

This made countless city-defending generals and mayors of various cities look at the Jianghai City Mayor with envy, jealousy, and hatred.

”Let’s proceed with the third proposal.”

With the final decision made by the Leader at the head seat, the meeting ended.

No one expected that the result of the Great Xia Kingdom’s top-level meeting would turn out like this...

...

In the mountains outside Jianghai City.

On the peak of Divine Phoenix Mountain, a giant white bird’s golden pupils flashed with a hint of irritation.

”Meow... I didn’t expect that after growing in size, the cave is almost too small to fit this bird...”

”Is it that this bird is too big... or is the cave too small...”

”Hiss... am I making a dirty joke...”
