Special Forces Soldier: Me, the Number One Troublemaker of Wolf Fang

42: Chapter 42 Openly repairing the plank road while secretly advancing the Chencang passIn a room not far away that was still lit, Gong Jian and Lao Hei stood at the window.

They watched the scene of Yang Han rebuking Su Guodong and He Chenguang, and could even vaguely hear something.

Lao Hei sighed, ”Yang Han, oh Yang Han, who would have thought that a rookie could lecture a veteran who has been in the Sharpshooter Fourth Company for several years?”

”This kid doesn’t look like a rookie at all; he’s mature and steady, just a bit of a troublemaker.”

Hearing this, Gong Jian smiled and said, ”Lao Hei, he is indeed a troublemaker, but have you noticed that his troublemaking is built upon his strength?”

”Yes, everyone likes a troublemaker with strength; those without strength can get lost,” Lao Hei said with a laugh.

”I’ve also felt for the past few days that He Chenguang and Su Guodong were not in the right state of mind; they were clearly disturbed by something. Today’s rebuke from Yang Han will very likely wake them up. You can tell just by looking at their expressions,” Gong Jian said.

”Having Yang Han in our Iron Fist Regiment is truly a great stroke of luck,” Lao Hei said.

”Alright, let’s stop reminiscing. The Regiment Commander wants us over there. Let’s go,” Gong Jian said.

”Alright.”

The two left the room and headed straight to the headquarters of the Iron Fist Regiment.

Inside the office of the Iron Fist Regiment headquarters, the lights were bright. At this hour, everyone should have been asleep, but all six company commanders of the Iron Fist Regiment were present.

Gong Jian and Lao Hei pushed the door open and entered.

”Regiment Commander.”

”Regiment Commander.”

Kang Lei nodded upon seeing the two and said, ”Good, now that everyone is here, that’s fine.”

”It is now 12 o’clock at night. There are 5 hours left until the annual Red-Blue confrontation exercise officially begins!”

Kang Lei said, ”Speak up, company commanders. What are your thoughts?”

”This time, we are still facing our old opponent, the Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade. Wolf Fang likes to use surprise tactics. I think we should just stay put, proceed as planned, and deal with their moves as they come,” the First Company Commander said.

The Sixth Company Commander immediately spoke up, ”No, we absolutely cannot stay put and await death. Our marching plans must be changed!”

”What is Wolf Fang? They are the top special operations brigade in the Southeast. Their command and their individual soldiers are terrifyingly strong. We cannot just react to their moves because they have too many tricks up their sleeves.”

The group of company commanders began to chatter and discuss.

The content of the discussion was roughly the same; in short, it was about how to deal with the Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade.

Kang Lei’s expression was composed, but his heart was restless.

In previous Red-Blue confrontation exercises, the Iron Fist Regiment had lost to the Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade four times in a row!

Four times in a row—what kind of concept is that? Kang Lei’s confidence, the confidence of the company commanders, and even the confidence of the ordinary soldiers had all been shattered by Wolf Fang.

This was a truly terrifying opponent!

Kang Lei had a splitting headache...

Next, he would have to clash with his old opponents He Zhijun and Fan Tianlei. These two were Old Foxes, top-tier Old Foxes.

Bang!

Amidst the arguments of the many company commanders, Kang Lei slammed the table hard and said, ”I think the Sixth Company Commander is right. We should seek change and absolutely cannot continue to sit and wait for death.”

”This time, we must change our strategy.”

After Kang Lei’s resounding words were spoken, the company commanders who supported staying put stopped talking and shook their heads secretly.

”Gong Jian, what are your thoughts?” Kang Lei asked.

Gong Jian pondered for a moment, thought about it, and said, ”Regiment Commander, actually, I also support changing the strategy. This time we should use surprise tactics so that Wolf Fang cannot guess our intentions.”

”Well said, continue.” Approval appeared in Kang Lei’s eyes.

Gong Jian said, ”What is Wolf Fang best at? It is decapitation! They possess many incredibly powerful Special Forces soldiers, each of whom is top-tier and impossible to guard against. Therefore, your survival, Regiment Commander, is extremely important.”

”Continue.” Kang Lei’s eyes lit up; Gong Jian had spoken to his heart.

Gong Jian said, ”I think that when our command post arrives at the front line to direct operations, it should be divided into two parts. One part will serve as the majority, acting as bait to attract those Wolf Fang people to attempt a decapitation!”

”The other part is a small unit, which is where you, Regiment Commander, will truly be. We will openly repair the plank road while secretly marching to Chencang. You will secretly proceed to the front-line command post, and then launch a fatal strike against the Blue Army, leaving them unable to tend to both ends!”

”Good!”

Kang Lei’s eyes gleamed. He was extremely satisfied with Gong Jian; he was truly worthy of being the person he valued.

”A Ph.D. from the National Defense University is just different. This strategy is breathtaking to hear; using tactics like deceiving the heavens to cross the sea and secretly marching to Chencang.”

Kang Lei smiled and said, ”Company commanders, what do you think?”

”I agree.”

”This strategy from the Fourth Company Commander is unparalleled; it is excellent.”

”I have no objections.”

The other five company commanders nodded one after another; they could not find any fault with this plan from Gong Jian.

Kang Lei laughed and said, ”Then there is no problem. I will take the command post personnel and take the small path, while you take the main force and take the main road to confuse them!”

”Next, we wait. In five hours, the annual Red-Blue confrontation exercise will officially begin. This time, we will catch Wolf Fang off guard.”

...

Wolf Fang Special Operations Brigade, Staff Department.

The lights in the office were still on. Lei Keming and Old Gao were both present. Besides these two, Lei Keming’s two capable lieutenants, Miao Lang and Chen Shanming, were also there. Both of them possessed strength comparable to Special Forces.

The four looked at the military map, where many points had been drawn. Predicting the enemy’s movements, deploying their own troops, where to launch attacks, and where to retreat were all clearly marked.

Lei Keming said with a laugh, ”It’s about to start. Regardless of anything else, the one thing we must do is decapitation! That old guy Kang Lei has already been decapitated four times in a row, right? Haha, I want to make him be decapitated five times, giving him the greatest trauma of his life!”

A cold glint appeared in Old Gao’s eyes...

”Come to think of it, Kang Lei has been decapitated four times in a row. I wonder if things will change this time.”

Looking at the military map, Old Gao suddenly had an inspiration.

”Oh? Tell me more.”

”Decapitation is something we must do, but what if he uses a smokescreen?” Old Gao said.

Lei Keming’s expression changed slightly, and he said, ”That doesn’t seem impossible!”

”Therefore, I think our decapitation squad must be divided into at least three parts!”

”Any troops from the Iron Fist Regiment that appear must be carefully inspected so that the real boss doesn’t slip away!”

Murderous intent was revealed in Old Gao’s eyes.

Lei Keming laughed and said, ”Old Gao, it seems you have gained new insights from your mission outside this time. Then we will do as you said. Send out three decapitation squads, and you will be one of them.”

Old Gao nodded.

At this very moment, Kang Lei did not know that his so-called ’deceiving the heavens to cross the sea’ plan had already failed and been seen through.

5:00 AM had arrived.

Iron Fist Regiment, Sharpshooter Fourth Company!

Suddenly, in the silence, the battle bugle sounded sharply, waking everyone who was sleeping.

It also woke up Yang Han. Yang Han narrowed his eyes. What is the battle bugle blowing for at this time?

Wait!

Could it be, the military exercise?!
