Daily Intelligence: Forced to Save the Beautiful President at the Beginning

199: Chapter 200 An Internet Celebrity Is Begging Under a BridgeWinter in Jiangcheng arrived unexpectedly. After the first snowfall, the temperature plummeted to five degrees below zero. Pedestrians on the streets wrapped their coats tightly as they hurried past, their white breath instantly dissipating in the cold air. Only a few scattered patches of snow clung to the sycamore trees on the street corners, lending a touch of desolation to the scene.

Before this cold snap arrived, the ”liquidation of remnants” surrounding the Li Yong incident had already quietly drawn to a close under Zhang Fan’s push.

In the Legal Department office of Singularity Technology, Wang Jingdong placed a stack of judgments in front of Zhang Fan. Each document was stamped with the bright red official seal of the court, recording the final fate of those ”accomplices.”

”Zhang Cheng’s sentence is out.” Wang Jingdong pointed to the document on top, his tone carrying a hint of relief. ”The Bar Association has officially issued a notice permanently revoking his law license; he is barred from legal work for life. Additionally, for ’obstructing justice’ and ’instigating perjury,’ he has been sentenced to three years in prison and will be sent to serve his term next month.”

Zhang Fan picked up the judgment, his eyes sweeping over the words ”permanently removed,” showing no extra emotion. He still remembered Zhang Cheng’s arrogance during the trial when he threatened his father and forged evidence. This outcome was nothing more than what he deserved. ”Is there any arrangement for his father’s side?”

”We’ve already contacted the community. Elder Zhang Jianguo still needs rehabilitation for his legs, so the community hospital will make regular house calls. The costs will be covered by our Singularity Foundation.” Wang Jingdong added, ”The old man said that once Zhang Cheng gets out, he’ll take his son back to the countryside and never return to Jiangcheng again.”

Zhang Fan nodded and turned to the next judgment—it was the collective sentencing of the Tianhua Group executives. Zhou Ming, the Legal Director who participated in forging medical records, was sentenced to five years in prison; the Chief Financial Officer responsible for transferring assets was sentenced to four years; and those middle managers involved in the ”frame Li Yong” plan all received legal punishment without exception. Sentences ranged from probation to imprisonment, and all assets under their names were frozen to compensate the patients harmed by Tianhua.

”Not a single person involved in the conspiracy escaped.” Wang Jingdong’s voice carried a hint of determination. ”We combed through the entire management of Tianhua Group. As long as they signed their name or contributed to the ’framing plan’—even if they just helped deliver a document—we submitted the evidence, and the court sentenced them according to the law.”

Zhang Fan put down the judgment and looked at the snowy scene outside the window, a weight gradually lifting from his heart. From the trial to the liquidation, it had taken three full months. They hadn’t let a single accomplice go or allowed any evildoer to remain at large—this was not just to give Li Yong justice, but to uphold the bottom line that ”justice will not be absent.”

”What about Xiao Ya? Her sentence should be almost up, right?” Zhang Fan suddenly remembered the influencer who had turned on Li Yong for money.

”She’s due for release in a week.” Wang Jingdong pulled out his phone and brought up a document. ”She was sentenced to one year for ’perjury.’ Her performance in prison was average, so there was no sentence reduction. We checked, and after her release, no company will dare to sign her—all streaming platforms have blacklisted her, and media companies are avoiding her like the plague. After all, nobody wants to touch the black mark of ’framing a Divine Doctor.’”

Zhang Fan didn’t speak, only lightly tapping the desk. He knew that for Xiao Ya, the legal punishment was only the beginning. Being ruined and unemployable was the more thorough punishment—she had sold her conscience for a million, and now she would pay the price for that greed for the rest of her life.

A week later, Xiao Ya completed her sentence. When she walked out of the prison gates, she was still wearing the old clothes she had on when she entered. The style was long outdated, and the fabric was pilling.

She took out her phone, wanting to log into her old streaming account, only to find it had been permanently banned and even the registration info had been deleted. She contacted a manager she used to know, but the moment he heard her voice, he hung up and wouldn’t pick up again. She went to apply for jobs as a restaurant waitress or a supermarket cashier, but as soon as they checked her name and saw the criminal record for ’perjury,’ they politely rejected her.

”We can’t hire you, sorry.”

”Your reputation is too bad; it would affect our business.”

”You should probably look somewhere else.”

Each rejection was like a knife, slowly carving away Xiao Ya’s last bits of hope. She spent the few hundred yuan she had left and eventually had to sleep under a bridge, surviving on food scavenged from trash cans. She used to be glamorous through her livestreams, wearing designer brands and carrying luxury bags, but now she could only wrap herself in a scavenged military coat, shivering in the cold wind.

A month later, a photo suddenly went viral on a local Jiangcheng forum. The photo was taken late at night under an overpass. Under the dim yellow streetlights, a woman wrapped in a worn-out olive-drab military coat was crouching on the ground, fighting a homeless man for half a moldy bun. The woman’s hair was yellowed and matted, her face was red from the cold, and her hands were covered in chilblains, yet those who knew her recognized her at a glance—it was the former influencer, Xiao Ya.

The caption of the photo was simple: ”The influencer who framed the Divine Doctor for money is now fighting for buns under an overpass.”

The comment section exploded instantly:

”Good and evil truly have their rewards! When she was livestreaming and insulting Divine Doctor Li, why didn’t she think of today?”

”She deserves it! She sold her conscience for a million; this is all her own doing!”

”Don’t pity her. Divine Doctor Li was such a good person, and she nearly caused him to go to jail before his tragic death. What’s a little suffering for her compared to that?”

”I used to think she was pitiful, but now I know that a pitiful person must have a hateful side!”

The photo was quickly reposted to Weibo and TikTok. Although the hashtag #InfluencerXiaoYaBeggingUnderOverpass didn’t make the trending list, it flooded local circles. Some said they saw her picking up rotten vegetable leaves at the wet market; others said she was kicked out of a convenience store for begging; some even said she tried to start a new livestream to apologize but was cursed out by netizens until she went offline—no one pitied her, everyone felt this was the end she deserved.

Meanwhile, at the Singularity Technology R&D Center, Zhang Fan was huddled around a conference table with a group of researchers in white coats. On the table lay a thick ”Anti-Cancer Formula Clinical Trial Report.” The data in the report showed that after Li Yong’s Anti-Cancer Formula was refined, the effective rate for patients with late-stage liver cancer reached 78%, far exceeding any anti-cancer drug currently on the market.

”Mr. Zhang, based on this data, the earliest we can submit a marketing application is early next year,” the R&D Director said excitedly. ”As long as it passes approval, we can start mass production. By then, we can realize Divine Doctor Li’s wish to ’make it affordable for ordinary patients.’”

Zhang Fan picked up the report, his fingers lightly brushing over the words ”Li Yong’s Anti-Cancer Formula,” and his eyes grew slightly warm. He seemed to see the scene when Li Yong first handed him the USB drive, saw the old man’s gaze when he finally said ”save people,” and saw that thin figure lunging toward the little girl at the alley entrance.

”Let’s call it ’Yong An Kang’,” Zhang Fan’s voice carried a hint of a choke, yet was exceptionally firm. ”’Yong’ for brave, ’An’ for peace, and ’Kang’ for health. It’s both to commemorate Divine Doctor Li Yong and a hope that all patients can be safe and healthy.”

”Good! Let’s call it ’Yong An Kang’!” The researchers nodded one after another, the atmosphere in the conference room both solemn and full of hope.

Snow was still falling outside, but the R&D center was filled with warmth. Zhang Fan knew that the revenge was over, and those evildoers had received their due punishment, but Li Yong’s dying wish had only just begun to be realized. Next, what he had to do was take ”Yong An Kang” to the whole world, let more cancer patients see hope, and let Li Yong’s name remain forever in the annals of history for ”saving the dying and healing the wounded.”
