Daily Intelligence: Forced to Save the Beautiful President at the Beginning

195: Chapter 196 I want him and his whole family to go to hell! The wail of the ambulance sirens drew closer, but as Zhang Fan knelt beside Li Yong’s remains, it felt as if the entire world had been muted. The old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine’s hand still held the final position of clutching Zhang Fan’s sleeve. The warmth in his fingertips ebbed away bit by bit, and his blood-stained blue cotton tunic lay against the ground, soaking into a dark, spreading stain. The wind in the alley swirled with broken bricks and dust, blowing against his face, but it was far from as bone-chilling as the coldness in his heart.

He didn’t cry, nor did he roar; he simply reached out slowly and gently closed Li Yong’s wide-open eyes—those eyes that were once full of gentle smiles now stared hollowly at the sky, as if questioning the injustice of this world. It was only when Zhang Fan’s fingertips touched Li Yong’s cold cheek that his body began to tremble uncontrollably. It wasn’t out of fear, but because of a suppressed rage so extreme it threatened to burst through his chest.

“Uncle Li, I will make them pay the price,” he whispered, his voice low like ice shards rattling in his throat. His gaze slowly turned toward the smashed ferrari. In the driver’s seat, Wang Haoyu’s corpse was slumped there, the blood on his forehead already congealed, yet that twisted face still carried the madness of mutual destruction.

Zhang Fan slowly stood up and pulled his phone from his pocket. The screen still displayed the system’s blood-red warning, which seemed exceptionally ironic now. He didn’t look at the police and onlookers gathering around. His finger slid through his contacts, found the number labeled ’Uncle Song,’ and pressed the call button.

The phone rang twice before being picked up. Richest Man Song’s voice carried its usual steadiness, mixed with a hint of a smile: “Xiao Fan, calling at this hour—is there some good project you want to chat about?” He had always been polite to Zhang Fan, partly because of Song Zhiwei’s feelings, and partly because he admired Zhang Fan’s ability. The development of Singularity Technology over these years had also brought the Song family a lot of dividends.

“Uncle Song, I was just in an alley in the Old City District, and Wang Haoyu almost ran me over and killed me.” Zhang Fan’s voice was very calm, so calm it was as if he were discussing something inconsequential. But those who knew him understood that beneath this calm lay a terrifying storm.

On the other end of the line, Richest Man Song instantly retracted his smile, his tone becoming immediately tense: “Are you alright? Are you hurt? I’ll send bodyguards to pick you up right away!”

In his eyes, Zhang Fan’s safety was far more important than anything else—Song Zhiwei’s heart was entirely set on Zhang Fan, and moreover, Zhang Fan held projects like medical ai and the Star Core Engine that could change the industry landscape. Nothing could be allowed to happen to him.

“I’m fine.” Zhang Fan’s gaze fell upon Li Yong’s remains, a hint of a tremor finally surfacing in his voice, “But Divine Doctor Li, who was with me, was killed by Wang Haoyu. He died saving a little girl; he couldn’t get out of the way himself...”

The sound of Richest Man Song letting out a sigh of relief came through the receiver. Although he felt it was a pity, at his level, he had long grown accustomed to life and death. As long as Zhang Fan was safe, everything else could be resolved.

He paused and asked directly: “Xiao Fan, what do you want me to do? I’ll handle the Wang Family’s affairs for you.”

He knew that Zhang Fan calling wasn’t just to report the news. Given Zhang Fan’s personality, after suffering such a great grievance, he would never let the matter rest.

“Uncle Song, I want the Wang Family to disappear completely.” Zhang Fan’s voice was icy, devoid of any warmth. “Wang Haoyu is dead, but his father Wang Tianhua is still there. The Wang Family’s assets, their connections, and the people behind them—I want them all to pay the price. I want everyone to know what the consequences are for killing a doctor who saves lives.”

“Fine.” Richest Man Song agreed readily without the slightest hesitation. “Rest assured, I’ll immediately arrange for people to track down Wang Tianhua’s whereabouts and freeze all of the Wang Family’s assets. Additionally, I’ll contact a few old friends to have them cooperate in investigating the Wang Family’s illegal dealings. You handle Divine Doctor Li’s funeral arrangements first; leave the rest to me.”

After hanging up, Zhang Fan walked over to the ferrari and looked down at Wang Haoyu’s corpse in the driver’s seat. He crouched down, his voice so soft only he could hear: “You think it’s over just because you’re dead? No, Wang Haoyu, this is only the beginning. Your father, your family, everyone associated with your Wang Family will be buried with you. I want you to vanish from Jiangcheng, to evaporate completely from this world.”

With that, he took out another phone and dialed Liu Ruyan’s number. His tone was devoid of emotion, conveying only an unquestionable command: “Immediately activate the ’Public Opinion Emergency Plan.’ Collect all the car accident videos filmed by onlookers in the alley. Don’t blur them; publish them in high definition. Every media platform under our wing, partnered influencers, and every channel we can reach must pin it at the top simultaneously in ten minutes. Use the uniform title: ’The End of a Good Man.’ Also, have the Legal Department prepare materials to sue Wang Tianhua for ’intentional homicide’ and simultaneously sue all affiliated enterprises of the Wang Family for their illegal activities.”

“Understood! Boss, we’re already collecting the videos. They’ll be published on time in ten minutes!” Liu Ruyan’s voice carried a hint of urgency but no hesitation—she had already seen the news of the accident and knew of Li Yong’s death. At this moment, she was equally filled with indignation.

Ten minutes later, the entire internet seemed as if a ’reset button’ had been pressed.

On Weibo, TikTok, Kuaishou, Little Red Book, and even some local forums and overseas social platforms, that car accident video appeared simultaneously. Filmed from different angles, the footage clearly recorded the moment Li Yong lunged toward the little girl, the trajectory of the red ferrari rushing madly, Wang Haoyu’s twisted face, and the blinding bloodstain on the ground after Li Yong was struck and sent flying.

There was no sentimental copy, no redundant explanations. The titles of all the videos consisted of only one sentence: 【The End of a Good Man】.

Initially, there was dead silence. In the comments section, for the first few minutes, there were only scattered ’holy shits’ and ’I can’t believe it.’ No one could believe that the old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, who had been proven innocent at trial, would leave in such a tragic and heroic manner.

But soon, a wave of rage swept across the entire network.

“Divine Doctor Li died to save a child! Wang Haoyu is a beast!”

“How does the Wang Family dare? Losing the trial wasn’t enough, they had to resort to silencing him?!”

“A doctor who saves lives and heals the wounded ends up dying under the wheels of a madman. What kind of world is this!”

The Weibo servers were the first to crash. The hashtag #RestInPeaceDivineDoctorLi surpassed 1 billion reads within half an hour, followed by a bright red ’Explosive’ tag. Related topics like #SeverelyPunishTheWangFamily, #WeOweAGoodManJustice, and #WangHaoyuIntentionalHomicide occupied the trending lists like a tide; fifteen of the top twenty were about this car accident.

On TikTok, the video of Li Yong saving the child surpassed 500 million views within an hour. Countless netizens spontaneously launched ’Pray for Divine Doctor Li’ activities. A video of a restaurant owner crying while holding his daughter and recounting how ’Grandpa Li usually gives my child candy’ brought countless people to tears.

On overseas social platforms, Chinese netizens also began forwarding the video. The topic #ChineseDoctorSacrificedToSaveChild climbed the trending charts, with many foreign netizens leaving comments like ’This is a true hero’ and ’The murderer’s family should be severely punished.’

Public opinion was like a mountain, a sea, a volcanic eruption. Countless netizens organized themselves to start digging up dirt on the Wang Family—from how Wang Tianhua embezzled state-owned assets years ago, to how Wang Haoyu usually bullied others with his influence, to Tianhua Pharmaceutical’s illegal dealings and its connections with Tianming Group. All the covered-up darkness was exposed one by one in this nationwide fury.

The police phone lines were overwhelmed with calls demanding to ’severely punish Wang Tianhua’ and ’thoroughly investigate the Wang Family,’ almost blowing the roof off the station. Regulatory departments were also forced to issue early announcements, declaring that they ’will conduct a comprehensive investigation into all affiliated enterprises of the Wang Family and will never tolerate any illegal acts.’

Zhang Fan stood at the entrance of the alley, watching the constantly refreshing trending topics and comments on his phone, his gaze still icy. He knew he had won this public opinion war—the collective rage of the people had paved the way for his next moves. The trial by public opinion had begun, and it was time for the net of reality to tighten.

He looked back at Li Yong’s remains being lifted onto the ambulance and said softly, “Uncle Li, look, everyone remembers you as a good man. Next, it’s my turn to seek justice for you.”

In the distance, the bodyguards sent by Richest Man Song had arrived and stood respectfully behind Zhang Fan. Zhang Fan turned and walked toward the car with steady steps and no hesitation. He knew Wang Tianhua couldn’t hide for long; the downfall of the Wang Family was only a matter of time. And this war of revenge for Li Yong had only just begun.
