Chapter 400: Chapter 399: Phainon’s Gift of Thanks

—Buzz buzz.

While Castorice was spreading ”unofficial history,” Stelle’s phone suddenly vibrated twice. A message from Phainon came through: Partner, I’ve finally settled Teacher Aglaea and Anaxa on my end.

Phainon: Where are you now? Is it convenient? Mydei and I are at Cloudstone Heavenly Palace. We want to talk to you about some things.

Phainon: If you still have unfinished matters, there’s no rush. The two of us will be waiting for you at the bathhouse today.

Phainon: (animated expression · waiting for you)

”Phainon messaged···” Stelle and Dan Heng exchanged a glance, then turned to Castorice: ”Miss Castorice, the story you just told was very interesting. Thank you for taking us in.”

”We won’t disturb you any longer. See you next time.”

Castorice was still immersed in the four words ”tragic lovers” from earlier. Seeing the three about to leave, she did not try to keep them: ”Alright then··· I just caught a bit of inspiration and plan to revise the plot.”

”If you don’t have a place to stay in Okhema, feel free to come find me. You are welcome to stay anytime.”

Stelle nodded: ”Definitely.”

(At this time, March 7th in soul state: ”I knew it!”)

·····

The three returned to Cloudstone Heavenly Palace once more and saw Phainon and Mydei in one of the bath pools. From afar, the two seemed to be discussing something:

”Mydei, when Stelle and the others arrive later, what gift should I prepare? How about a handy weapon?”

Mydei crossed his arms, smiling ambiguously: ”A weapon? Heh, that kind of gift suits Anaxa. Besides, a casually bought weapon would seem insincere. I suggest you change it.”

Phainon said somewhat troubled: ”Sigh, if we’re talking about precious gifts, what in the entire holy city could be more precious than the clothes of the [Golden Lion] gentleman? Unfortunately, every time new clothes are released, Caenis snaps them up immediately. Sigh···”

Hearing this, Mydei smiled faintly: ”So you were waiting for me here? Perfect, I just finished a new series of clothes recently, you sly fox.”

Mydei: ”Since you want to ask for a gift from me, you’d better be prepared to owe me a big favor. My clothes have always been priceless~”

Phainon laughed: ”Deal! As long as the [Golden Lion] gentleman can provide three new outfits, I’d be willing to go through mountains of knives and seas of fire!”

”Oh···?”

At this moment, the golden threads in Mydei’s hand trembled slightly. He suddenly turned his gaze and happened to see Stelle and the others walking over. He immediately smiled gently: ”Everyone, you’ve arrived?”

”Partner!” Phainon waved at Stelle: ”I’m really sorry for making you wait so long!”

”How was it? Did you get along well with Castorice just now?”

The moment Castorice’s name was mentioned, Stelle couldn’t help thinking of the ”unofficial history” from earlier. The corner of her mouth twitched as she said: ”Mm··· Miss Castorice is truly a··· er, very imaginative person.”

”Imaginative?”

Hearing this word, Phainon was first stunned, then quickly pulled Stelle close and whispered: ”She didn’t show you the little stories she wrote, did she?”

”Also? Could it be that you too···?”

Phainon nodded: ”That’s right. Castorice has little contact with the outside world and stays at home all the time, so she has a habit of writing fanfiction. I don’t know who she learned it from, but she always writes some strange things.”

”I’ll quietly tell you—Castorice and I are very close, so she promised not to write me in······ How about it? You didn’t hear any stories about me, right?”

Stelle: ”We definitely didn’t hear any about you.”

Then she quietly added in her heart: ”For now.”

Meanwhile, Mydei watched Phainon ”whispering conspiratorially” in front of him and fell into thought.

Thanks to the golden threads, he had heard every single word of the conversation between Phainon and Stelle without missing anything.

He also knew about Castorice secretly writing Chrysos Heirs fanfiction, but······ back then Castorice had also told him ”I won’t write you in.”

It’s just that··· the last time he read it, he happened to come across a story about Phainon.

Mydei felt that he had most likely already lost his reputation in Castorice’s stories. He just didn’t know about the others.

”By the way, this time to thank you, I’ve really gone all out and prepared a big gift for you.”

Compared to Mydei, Phainon clearly did not have that kind of ”think of danger in times of peace” awareness. This sunny big boy pointed both hands at Mydei and laughed: ”Allow me to solemnly introduce another identity of Mydei!”

”Okhema’s number one master tailor, the [Golden Lion] gentleman, Okhema’s number one handsome guy, Mydei Mama······”

”I asked him to prepare a full set of Amphoreus attire for you. I see your clothes (specifically referring to Stelle) seem to have been worn for a long time and probably haven’t been changed much, right? Perfect time to try Mydei’s craftsmanship.”

Stelle: ”······”

Compared to Dan Heng (who already had two sets of clothes) and Sunday (who already had two sets of clothes), she did indeed look like she needed a change of outfit. But··· was it that obvious?

Phainon could tell after only one day of contact?

Mydei helplessly shrugged: ”Most of it is just empty praise······ but the title of ’number one tailor’ is truly deserved. I’ll have someone deliver the clothes to your bedchamber later. You can look forward to it a little.”

When saying this, a trace of confidence appeared in Mydei’s usually gentle tone.

There were countless praises from the world about him, but he did not care about most of them. Only the profession of tailor could truly make him happy.

Who said people from Castrum Kremnos only know how to fight and kill?

Stelle: ”Then··· where is our bedchamber? To be honest, I was even planning to stay at Castorice’s place. I could hear interesting stories every day.”

Mydei: ”That’s fine too, if you’re not afraid of being written into them as well.”

Stelle: ”I think maintaining some distance creates beauty.”

”Partner, the bedchamber I prepared for you is no ordinary one.”

Mentioning this topic, Phainon smiled, a trace of pride in his eyes: ”According to verifiable history, that room a thousand years ago was the bedchamber of Hysilens, the first general under [Caesar] and the Sword Banner Duke.”

”Some folk rumors even say that back then even [Caesar] Cerydra frequently entered and exited that room. Although we don’t know what Okhema’s first monarch did there, what is certain is that this bedchamber holds very high historical significance.”

”Normally that bedchamber is guarded as a memorial hall, but you two are guests from afar and participated in today’s ’Holy City Defense Battle.’ Lady Tribbie and the others gave me sufficient authority to entertain you fully.”

”After thinking it over, only this room is worthy of you. So I simply arranged it. How about it? Shall I take you to see it now?”
