Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Jing Yuan’s Nightmare (Supplementary Version)

While ”Dan Heng being tormented by Stelle” and ”March 7th tormenting Stelle” were happening, Bailu and Jing Yuan on the side fell into another scene.

The previous two of Stelle’s left and right arms were mainly tormented by the chaotic relationship between each other, while Bailu and Jing Yuan were completely tormented by adult worries.

—Work is so tiring, work has no prospects, work pays too little.

Bailu’s dream was still relatively normal — just working twenty hours a day, cycling repeatedly for several hundred years.

But Jing Yuan’s was different. Because he had already retired and gotten used to waking up naturally every day without worrying about money!

Livestreaming with Guinaifen was purely to add a little fun to his retirement life.

But if he really had to go back to work... it would be even more torturous than Bailu’s.

After all, Bailu was at least used to it.

[Some Company Employee 1: www (tears of empathy), isn’t this the life we’re living right now? Not only is there too much work and too little pay, but we also have to live like grandsons under Mr. Skott every day.]

[Skott7: Eh, don’t say things that are bad for unity. Besides, what’s wrong with being a grandson? That’s also my family!]

[Interastral Peace Corporation PR Department: Our company hereby declares that we have never treated our employees with the inhumane system shown in the viewing. At the same time, we strongly condemn the behavior in the film that disrespects the ”Galactic Labor Law.”]

[Some Company Employee 2: I previously heard there was a legendary ”Seven Rest Days” in the Asdana system, but when I got there the event had already ended!]

[Some Company Employee 1: I heard about that too! I heard a group of lawless vagrants drove a car and crashed the event site. They’re too evil. Even if they don’t eat from this bowl, they shouldn’t smash the bowl!]

[Some Company Employee 3: Exactly, exactly. If there really were Seven Rest Days in this world, I would stop believing in Qlipoth from now on! I’d convert to the Seven Rest Days Cult!]

...

Jing Yuan’s nightmare:

Jing Yuan felt he was probably old and senile, to the point he had such an unattainable dream.

In the dream, he was the renowned ”Divine Strategist General” of the Luofu, one of the rare Luofu Generals who retired peacefully.

After retirement, he livestreamed to make a living together with his disciple Yanqing and good friend Guinaifen. Although life was tight, it was incomparably joyful.

However, reality was like a bucket of cold water that woke him from that beautiful dream — he was not the former Luofu General and had not retired.

The friend in the dream, Guinaifen, was his creditor and the landlady of this apartment. He owed her more than eighty million credits and would need his entire remaining life to possibly repay the debt.

At first Jing Yuan refused to believe it, thinking it was just a nightmare. Unfortunately, the facts before his eyes left him no choice but to believe. Gradually, Jing Yuan became numb and integrated into this world:

Whoosh—

Jing Yuan stood in the apartment’s public washroom. After squeezing shampoo into his hand, he rubbed it messily on his head. However, just as he was about to rinse, he discovered the water from the faucet growing smaller and smaller until it disappeared.

?

Jing Yuan grabbed a handful of his hair. There was still foam that hadn’t been rinsed off.

”Landlady—!”

Jing Yuan shouted toward the hallway: ”Why did the water suddenly stop?”

”...”

Tap tap tap—

The hallway was quiet for a few seconds before hurried slipper sounds approached. Guinaifen, with a face mask on and her hair rolled up, gave Jing Yuan a big slap with extreme impatience. ”What are you barking about?”

”You’re asking me why there’s no water? Doesn’t water cost money, you old thing? You’re behind on this month’s rent again, and you still have so much nonsense?”

Jing Yuan’s momentum instantly weakened. This was the result of being beaten down by society. He said weakly: ”But, Boss Gu, I only washed half my head. You turned off the water valve...”

”I did more than just turn off the water valve?”

Guinaifen’s momentum didn’t decrease. ”Starting today, water is cut off on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and only intermittent supply on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. How about that?!”

Slap!

Guinaifen kicked Jing Yuan’s butt angrily. ”You old thing, you’re so slow at repaying money. You want to drag me to death? Let me tell you, no way! After I die, your debt will transfer to my Sushang. She’s a Long-life species. If you have the ability, go drag her to death?”

”You old thing, still wearing red underwear at your age. Aren’t you embarrassed?”

Jing Yuan looked very wronged: ”But the person who designed my clothes back then designed it this way. Besides, these aren’t underwear, they’re just red pants...”

Slap!

”Hey, you stubborn old man, you still dare talk back? Don’t think I won’t hit you just because you’re handsome.”

Just then Yanqing happened to pass by and squeezed out a smile toward Guinaifen: ”Good morning, Boss Gu...”

”Good morning my ass!” Guinaifen didn’t buy it at all and showed no mercy with her words. ”You little thing, don’t think I’ll go easy on you just because you’re small. Useless!”

Jing Yuan and Yanqing stood together looking pitiful: ”Boss, we... we really tried our best, but we can only earn at most six thousand a month. There really isn’t any more...”

Guinaifen waved her small hand: ”Then that means you’re not working hard enough! No money? If you have no money, you two should go sell yourselves. What a waste of those two faces.”

Yanqing shook his head repeatedly: ”N-No, I’m still young and haven’t come of age yet...”

Jing Yuan waved his hands repeatedly: ”N-No, I... I’m too old. I’m an old cow...”

...

Everyone in front of the screen fell silent.

Previously everyone had vaguely felt that Jing Yuan’s screen time seemed a bit too much. Although most of the time the main perspective was the Express crew, Jing Yuan seemed to be the real protagonist — appearing everywhere.

Although being the protagonist in this kind of viewing wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

Now, after watching Jing Yuan’s nightmare, everyone could confirm it. The Luofu’s General Jing Yuan had probably been set up.

It felt like Aha was the one leading the setup.

[Guinaifen: ??? N-No no no! That’s not me in there! I’m innocent! @Sushang I won’t get kicked out of the Xianzhou tomorrow for not eating with my left hand, right?]

[Sushang: I-I-I don’t know either. Little Guizi, be honest — have you offended someone recently? How about we buy some fruit and apologize?]

[Guinaifen: General, please see clearly! Little Guizi is a good citizen and would never do the things in the video!]

[Jing Yuan: ...]

[Jing Yuan: ...Hehe. I have always been open-minded. Using my image to make videos? I’m not angry at all.]

[Jing Yuan: However, the video repeatedly mentions the word ”General.” This shows it’s not targeting me alone, but the Reignbow Arbiter’s Seven Generals. Where is this slapping my face? This is clearly slapping the Marshal’s face! I suggest changing the title ”General of Exalting Sanctum” to ”General of Exalting Misfortune.” Who agrees and who opposes?]

[Tavern Official: Hey hey hey, can you not blame everything on our boss? You need evidence for what you do! Do you have evidence?]

[Jing Yuan: Isn’t it precisely because there’s no evidence that I’m blaming your boss?]

[Sampo: Oh my heavens. @Sparkle Sparkle my lady, come out and say something! How can we miss you at a time like this?]

[Aha: Aha!]

[Sampo: ?]
