Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 193: Chapter 196: Top Talent

Lu Li and President Liu, Vice President Hu agreed on the signing date.

Later, around dusk, he met with the thirty-five engineers in Wang Jun’s small team.

At Jin’an Restaurant, in the private room.

”Hello, Mr. Lu.”

”Boss, nice to meet you for the first time. Please look after us.”

Introduced by Wang Jun, Lu Li got to know the thirty-odd people one by one.

Most of these tech-savvy people were somewhat like Wang Jun in temperament, quite straightforward.

Of course, some were quite savvy, immediately calling Lu Li ”boss” upon first meeting him.

Lu Li shook hands with everyone, taking the opportunity to remember their names.

He paid particular attention to a few people.

Like Qian Diding, short and plump, about twenty-seven or eight years old.

Then there’s materials engineer Zhu Yang.

And a thirty-four or five-year-old female engineer, Xu Min.

After meeting everyone, they all gathered around the large table.

This round table was quite large.

It could seat around forty people.

So, Lu Li and the others didn’t need to split into several tables.

Lu Li bonded with everyone for a while.

They were drinking during this bonding time.

Following the previous topic, Wang Jun said, ”Boss, although President Liu approved our resignation letters, aside from me, the others may not be able to leave with you immediately.”

Lu Li turned his head to the right, ”About how long?”

Wang Jun asked Qian Diding, ”What did President Liu say to you?”

”He said it’s fine as soon as the manpower is arranged.”

”Probably about fourteen or fifteen days.”

Several people responded scatteredly.

Qian Diding glanced at a document, raised his head confidently and said, ”Normally, resignation should take a month, but President Liu said we can leave within fifteen days at most.”

Lu Li was about to say that would work.

His gaze fell on the document placed beside Qian Diding.

He blinked and asked, ”Engineer Qian, what’s drawn on your blueprints?”

Engineer Fu, sitting next to Lu Li on the left, also looked over.

Conversely, Wang Jun, Zhu Yang, Xu Min and others seemed to already know, so they weren’t surprised.

Qian Diding said rather embarrassedly, ”These are my hand-drawn overall style and design direction of the car, just doodling, not very good.”

In fact, Lu Li had already known.

He found the car designed by Qian Diding very interesting.

He asked, ”Can I have a look?”

Qian Diding said ”sure” while handing over the sketches.

Lu Li accepted and took a closer look, finally seeing some scenes he hadn’t noticed before.

The sketches drawn by Qian Diding were of a sports car.

The car looked quite flashy.

A bit like the Shelby Super Snake.

Actually, most supercar models are more or less similar.

As long as the model is not too similar, there is generally no problem.

Looking at the sketches, Lu Li discovered that Qian Diding not only designed the car but also drew plans for the engine, and chassis as well, nearly everything.

Of course, normally, the sketches alone are barely useful.

Qian Diding seemed to realize this, explaining nervously, ”These are just sketches; I need multiple rounds of selection and optimization before I can produce a complete rendered image.”

Lu Li nodded slightly and continued to look, absentmindedly complimenting, ”Nice work.”

Wang Jun added, ”Once there’s a rendered image, we can then proceed to create a scaled model. This process is the key step in turning two-dimensional graphics into three-dimensional entities, requiring countless iterations of surface and detail review and adjustment to truly convey the design intent.”

Lu Li definitely didn’t understand any of this, but it didn’t stop him from knowing whether these sketches could be turned into a real car.

While responding to Wang Jun, he began his conscious projection.

Lu Li first scanned the sketches and then began simulating based on the information contained.

Initially, there were some kinks in the simulation, like the aerodynamic design not being great, high wind resistance, and some other minor issues.

However, as the simulation through conscious projection continued, gradually, exactly as drawn by Qian Diding, the structure of a sports car was simulated.

After the simulation was done, Lu Li felt very surprised.

Because he only made minor adjustments to the car model and some small details on these sketches.

Actually, the three core components — the engine, transmission, and chassis — didn’t require any modification at all.

What does this signify?

It means that even without using conscious projection simulation, the supercar designed by Qian Diding still has the potential to be manufactured!

Lu Li recalled Wang Jun telling him earlier that a team of over two hundred engineers is normally required to design a car.

And now, could Qian Diding single-handedly complete the car design?

Lu Li realized he had struck gold.

This engineer named Qian Diding must have had his talents buried in the larger environment, hence FAW didn’t give him much attention.

This might be related to Qian Diding’s relatively young age.

After all, the issue of seniority in certain units was still quite serious.

However, for Lu Li, the fact that Qian Diding is young is even better.

This means if the other party sincerely works for him, he can design more inspired cars in the future!

Unfortunately, he currently doesn’t have enough money.

He can’t participate in the automobile industry yet.

No hurry, when he earns more money later, he’ll naturally move into this field.

Without a hint of emotion, Lu Li returned the sketches to Qian Diding, complimenting, ”This model looks cool, I hope you can design it. If one day you really manage to design it, I wouldn’t mind investing some money to give it a try.”

Qian Diding was overjoyed and hurriedly said, ”Thank you, boss, thank you, boss.”

After that, Lu Li did not discuss work matters any further, but simply connected with everyone emotionally.

...

The next day, he took a flight back to Shanghai.

In Shanghai, Lu Li and Engineer Fu drove back to Su City.

They dropped off Engineer Fu at the entrance of Longda Machinery.

Lu Li initially wanted to contact Xiaozhao and Xiaoqing to ask about the recruitment situation.

But after passing a traffic light, he changed his mind.

Lu Li now had more important matters to handle.

That was to find a biology expert to understand human physiology.

To see if he could figure out why his physique hadn’t been able to grow stronger recently.

However, finding a biology expert isn’t something that can be done immediately.

He didn’t know anyone in this field...

Hey!

Wait a minute!

I do seem to know someone in this area.

Lu Li, driving the Cullinan, blinked and thought, ”Shen Xia is doing research at Su Cheng University, she should know some professors from the Biological Sciences department there, can I ask her to help introduce one or two biology experts to understand my situation?”

Actually, if he contacted Wu Er Mountain, he might be able to meet even more remarkable biology experts.

But Wu Er Mountain was getting older, and Lu Li didn’t want to bother him with such a small matter.

Thinking of this, he continued driving and used his spiritual power to unlock his phone, opened WeChat, and typed: ”Miss Shen, are you busy?”

After sending this message, Lu Li didn’t pay it any mind.

Because as far as he knew, Shen Xia was usually busy with research around this time.

What he didn’t expect was that shortly after he sent the message, a notification sound came from his pocket.

Hmm?

Isn’t Shen Xia busy today?

Lu Li used his spiritual power to check again.

Indeed, it was a reply from Shen Xia on WeChat: Not too busy, do you need anything?

Lu Li typed using his spiritual power: I have something I’d like your help with.

Shen Xia: Go ahead.

Lu Li: It’s like this, I’ve been interested in human physiology these past few days, could you introduce me to one or two experts in this field for a chat?

Shen Xia replied: Sure, I’ll be off work around five in the afternoon, let’s set a location then?

Lu Li: Miss Shen, thank you so much.

Shen Xia sent back a smiling face emoji.

...

Around five in the afternoon.

Lu Li communicated with Shen Xia again.

They finally agreed to meet at a Cantonese restaurant in the new district.

At this time, the road was a bit congested, after all, it was rush hour.

Driving from Labor Road to the new district, a short distance, surprisingly took him about half an hour.

The most critical was that the parking spaces were all full by the time he reached the destination.

Having no other choice, Lu Li had to circle a big round to find a parking spot.

Upon parking and entering the restaurant, it was already close to six o’clock.

Led by a waiter, Lu Li went to a corner inside.

At this time, he saw Shen Xia and a young woman sitting there, seemingly deciding on dishes.

”Your friend hasn’t arrived yet?”

”Probably stuck in traffic, let’s go ahead and start ordering.”

”Yeah, that’s true, it’s always busy on the roads at this time, but I have to head to the hospital after eating, so I can only chat for a bit.”

”It’s good that you don’t mind he’s late.”

”Listen to you, do I seem like someone so petty?”

Their conversation reached Lu Li’s ears.

He felt that the other person’s voice was somewhat familiar.

Like he had heard it somewhere before, but couldn’t recall instantly.

His memory was supposed to be photographic.

The situation could only mean one thing.

That is, he had heard the young woman’s voice before his genetic lock was unlocked.

Only, seeing the young woman’s profile, he didn’t recognize her.

Lu Li indeed found it strange.

He approached the table and greeted, ”Sorry, Miss Shen, I was delayed due to traffic.”

”It’s fine,” Shen Xia stood up with a smile and introduced, ”Qingwen, let me introduce you, this is Lu Li, a very... hmm, Lu Li, this is my friend Ni Qingwen, she is an emergency doctor.”

Ni Qingwen naturally stood up and extended her hand, ”Hello, Mr. Lu.”

Lu Li also shook her hand, ”Hello, Miss Ni.”

On the surface, he calmly got to know her.

In reality, as soon as he heard the name Ni Qingwen, he remembered who she was.

If there’s no one with the same name and surname, she should be his grade one classmate.

Why a grade one classmate?

Because she was so talented that she skipped grades consecutively.

It’s said she was admitted to Modu Jiao Tong University Medical School at the age of sixteen.

The reason Lu Li remembered her voice was entirely because he had coincidentally met her after graduating junior high school, and then felt quite hurt...
