Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 154: Chapter 143: Inspiration from Physics

A group of physicists all stared at Lu Li with speechless expressions.

They never expected that not only was Lu Li unemployed, but he also studied humanities and only had a bachelor’s degree without further education.

Yet, surprisingly, this unemployed humanities graduate solved a colossal problem for them, possibly saving hundreds of millions of US Dollars.

This made Professor Wang and the other physicists somewhat hard to accept.

Professor Wang asked incredulously, ”You studied humanities?”

Lu Li nodded, ”Yes.”

Professor Wang’s eyes darkened and he asked, ”Then how did you calculate how many anti-hydrogen atoms escaped from the bottom and the variance in gravitational acceleration?”

Shen Xia and the other physicists seemed very curious about this.

As for Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang, not knowing physics, they watched the domestic top physicists’ expressions, looking at Lu Li with a sense of bewildering admiration.

Although they didn’t know why Lu Li was impressive, they believed in his impressive abilities.

Lu Li admitted frankly, ”Actually, I didn’t calculate it, I discovered it through observation, well, I can’t really explain it clearly.”

The crowd thought he was being modest and didn’t continue to ask.

Only Wu Er Mountain looked at him eagerly, saying, ”Mr. Lu, wasn’t it you Xiaoshen mentioned wanting to learn physics from?”

Lu Li quickly replied, ”Yes.”

Wu Er Mountain seemed to find him increasingly satisfactory and said with a smile, ”Honestly, I’ve gotten older and don’t have much energy to teach, but since Mr. Lu you’re interested in learning physics, I’ve gotten interested in teaching, later you follow me home, and we can sit down and have a good talk.”

Lu Li initially thought learning physics from Shen Xia was great, but didn’t expect Wu Er Mountain to be willing to personally teach, which made him very happy.

After all, learning from a physics expert like Wu Er Mountain must be better than learning from Shen Xia.

He promptly agreed.

Afterwards, since Wu Er Mountain was indeed older with limited energy, he temporarily bid farewell to everyone.

Lu Li, Shen Xia, Liu Xiuming, and Liu Xiuliang followed Wu Er Mountain home.

...

On Pingjiang Road, not far from Su Cheng University.

What surprised Lu Li was, someone like Wu Er Mountain, clearly able to live in a villa, chose to live in a very ordinary apartment.

The apartment wasn’t big, about fifty to sixty square meters, and was simply furnished.

In the house, besides a sixty-something maid taking care of Wu Er Mountain, there was no one else.

Wu Er Mountain was first helped by Shen Xia to sit on a single sofa, then invited Lu Li and others to sit on the long sofa on the other side.

Lu Li, Liu Xiuming, and Liu Xiuliang expressed thanks and sat down.

At this moment, Wu Er Mountain asked, ”Mr. Lu, what aspect of physics do you want to learn? Classical mechanics? Quantum mechanics? Or thermodynamics, optics, electromagnetism, atomic nuclei, etc. beyond mechanics?”

Shen Xia nodded slightly beside him, as they both thought Lu Li seemed quite knowledgeable about physics and should be aiming to learn advanced topics, otherwise why need Wu Er Mountain to teach?

The result was that, to their speechlessness, Lu Li weakly said, ”I know very little about physics, basically forgot most of high school, can we start from the beginning?”

Shen Xia: ”...”

Wu Er Mountain: ”...”

Both were puzzled by Lu Li.

You can easily calculate the number of escaping anti-hydrogen atoms and gravitational acceleration at a glance, and now you want to learn the basics?

Wu Er Mountain asked a bit uncertainly, ”Start from the beginning?”

Lu Li nodded, ”Forgot most of what I learned in school.”

Since unlocking his gene, indeed his memory became very strong, but that happened before, forgotten means forgotten, so he really doesn’t remember much of the knowledge from school.

Wu Er Mountain couldn’t help but smile, ”Just now, the data you gave in the lab, you weren’t joking, right?”

Lu Li shook his head, ”No, some things I can’t say, but they’re confidential, yet I can surely say the data just now may be more accurate than your supercomputer’s calculations.”

Wu Er Mountain and Shen Xia exchanged a look, vaguely understanding something.

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang were slightly surprised, seemingly realizing something as well.

The crowd knew some things shouldn’t be asked, so they didn’t continue dwelling on it.

Wu Er Mountain thought for a moment and said, ”Since you want to start from scratch, you definitely first need to understand what physics is. It’s a discipline studying the general motion laws of matter and the basic structure of matter, leading the natural sciences, researching everything from the universe to the smallest particles. It provides the basis for other natural sciences. I have some introductory physics books, like ’Introduction to Physics’, ’Modern Physics Introduction’. Take them with you later, understand what physics is first, and know the direction to start, then I’ll slowly teach you other knowledge.”

Lu Li really didn’t know how to start, hearing guidance quickly thanked, ”Alright, thank you, Teacher Wu.”

Wu Er Mountain smiled and waved his hand, ”No problem, as long as you want to learn, I’ll teach you as much as I can.”

This sentence seemed ordinary.

In fact, Shen Xia, Liu Xiuming, and Liu Xiuliang all understood clearly.

Wu Er Mountain meant, as long as Lu Li wanted to study physics, he would teach him everything!

This is almost like passing on a legacy!

Think of how highly Wu Er Mountain regarded Lu Li.

Liu Xiuming and Liu Xiuliang might not understand why Wu Er Mountain valued Lu Li so much.

But Shen Xia knew very well, she knew Lu Li had an extremely high physics talent, if he truly accepted Wu Er Mountain’s teaching, he might contribute significantly to the country’s physics field, even benefiting all humanity.

Therefore, Wu Er Mountain was willing to share everything.

When someone reaches the level of Wu Er Mountain, they no longer consider just the individual or the local, their thinking has long reached the realm of all humankind.

Science has no borders.

Well, of course, scientists do have national borders.

After chatting briefly, Wu Er Mountain asked the housekeeper to bring a large pile of books from the study, and then personally wrote a lot of annotations on them to help Lu Li understand.

Finally, by the time Wu Er Mountain finished writing, several hours had passed and it was already getting dark outside.

Wu Er Mountain, somewhat exhausted, said, ”Mr. Lu, take these books back with you and have a look first. If there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to call me or Xiaoshen. Hmm, I sometimes sleep early at night, and my phone might be on silent, so if you can’t reach me, call Xiaoshen; she usually stays up a bit later.”

Shen Xia smiled and said, ”There’s nothing I can do, sometimes I work late. Mr. Lu, if you really have questions, just call, and I will definitely explain everything.”

Lu Li expressed his gratitude, ”Thank you, Teacher Wu, thank you, Miss Shen.”

Afterward, he and Liu Xiuming, Liu Xiuliang got up and took their leave.

...

He had dinner at the Liu Family’s house that evening.

Around nine o’clock in the evening, Lu Li returned to the villa.

He took a hot shower first, then comfortably lay on the bed to read.

Lu Li didn’t pay attention to the reading order and casually picked up a book called ”Six-Pole Physics,” reclining as he read.

He read very attentively, ”Preface: What is Six-Pole? We learned in middle school physics...”

This book was quite easy to understand.

Additionally, with the notes personally written by Wu Er Mountain.

Lu Li read very quickly, finishing the entire book in no time.

Even though he read quickly, his strong memory allowed him to firmly retain the content of the entire book in his mind.

For example, topics like the theory of relativity, the invariance of the speed of light, and the non-existence of ”ether.”

If someone were to ask Lu Li right now, he could immediately recite all the contents by heart.

After finishing the book, Lu Li seemed to have had some inspiration.

”When I was reading the Chapter on aerodynamics just now, it seemed like I thought of a way to develop a skill.”

Lu Li recalled the information on air resistance. According to ”Six-Pole Physics,” air resistance is easy to explain. Simply put, the most intuitive feeling is that the faster the speed of motion, the greater the air resistance experienced.

Suppose when a person is moving, the air relative to them feels like a gust of wind blowing head-on. The faster the speed of motion, the faster the wind speed felt, and the greater the force exerted by the wind.

If that’s the case, then could I use my spiritual power to directly mobilize the air to form a force?

For example, like in fantasy novels, forming an air wall for defense or forming an air palm to strike from a distance?

Air can also form a ”wall,” becoming a terrifying invisible killer, which might sound unbelievable to many.

However, Lu Li knew that such an event had actually happened before.

There have been historical incidents where planes were smashed to pieces by an ”air wall.”

Early planes used propellers as propulsion.

These planes could reach speeds of up to 700 kilometers per hour, much faster than cars.

But people were not satisfied.

At that time, someone proposed a question:

The speed of sound can reach 1200 kilometers per hour; can planes catch up with sound?

To achieve this goal, people designed a new type of aircraft.

This aircraft did not use propeller propulsion but instead relied on the propulsion generated by ejecting a large amount of high-pressure gas rearward to move forward; this is what we now know as a jet aircraft.

With continuous improvements, the speed of jet aircraft could reach up to 980 kilometers per hour.

In this race between humans and nature, it seemed that planes were about to surpass the speed of sound!

Just when people were feeling exhilarated, an unexpected tragedy occurred.

When the speed of test flights of jet planes continued to increase, a thunderous boom suddenly erupted.

In an instant, the plane was shattered to pieces as if it had crashed into a mountain.

Several similar explosions occurred in succession.

At that time, people did not know the reason behind this.

Until aircraft designers, engineers, and physicists came together to investigate these bizarre events, they conducted repeated simulation experiments and finally discovered the unimaginable true culprit: air.

It turned out that when any object, including planes, moves in the air, it exerts a certain amount of pressure on the air in front, causing the air in front to compress and form an invisible ”air wall.”

Moreover, the faster the object moves, the stronger this ”air wall” becomes.

After learning about these things, Lu Li had a bold idea in his mind.

If I could mobilize the air to move at high speed consistently, condensing the air together, could it form a ”wall” with remarkable defensive power?

Or, if I continuously compressed the air in a certain area to form an ”air palm” or ”air cone,” and then moved it at high speed to attack, could it produce immense power?

For now, he didn’t know.

Lu Li was prepared to give it a try, ”Alright, let’s experiment.”
