Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 100: Chapter 92: Someone’s Life Is at Risk! (4/10)

In the workshop.

Lu Li sharply sensed the situation and turned his head to look immediately.

Although whether something happens at Peng Erping’s factory or not has little to do with him.

But seeing the current situation, he thought it would be better to give a reminder.

Lu Li isn’t a saint, but he can’t just watch as he spots danger without warning others.

After all, such a huge box, packed full of iron stators.

If it accidentally falls, it could really be fatal.

He pointed to the western area, ”President Peng, aren’t these shelves of yours a bit aged? I feel there might be a safety hazard.”

Peng Erping was a bit surprised, ”Oh, you understand these things?”

Lu Li smiled a little, ”I know a little bit.”

Peng Erping didn’t take it too seriously, ”Um, those shelves are indeed a bit aged, it’s been about ten years, I’ve recently had the purchasing department place an order, expecting them to replace all these shelves in a few days.”

Seeing that the other party didn’t quite get it, Lu Li spoke directly: ”I see a big wooden box on the shelf in the southwest corner that doesn’t look properly placed, could it fall?”

Peng Erping seems to be quite concerned about safety production.

Hearing Lu Li say this,

Peng Erping immediately turned his head with wide eyes to look over.

But with his naked eyes, how could he see anything?

Peng Erping carefully stared for a moment and still didn’t find any problem.

So, he had to ask proactively, ”Mr. Lu, which big wooden box are you talking about?”

Lu Li pointed to a specific location and said, ”The one on the top row, third big wooden box from the left.”

Peng Erping said, ”I’ll get someone to take a look.”

After speaking, he shouted, ”Old Ma! Old Ma!”

A middle-aged man in casual clothes emerged from the production line.

Other workers were all in work uniforms, only he was in casual wear.

No need to guess, this Old Ma must be the workshop supervisor.

Old Ma rushed forward with three steps covered in two, ”Boss, what’s the matter?”

Peng Erping pointed to the wooden box Lu Li mentioned and said, ”Get someone to see if that wooden box is properly placed, don’t let it fall and hurt someone later. I remember it contains ninety-pound trough-type stators, twenty stators in a box, plus the weight of the wooden box itself, it should weigh about two thousand pounds. If it really falls, it could be deadly, hurry up and handle it, have the forklift operator set the box properly.”

Lu Li nodded slightly from the side.

This box alone weighs nearly a ton.

Placed on a shelf more than three meters high.

If it falls, the kinetic energy might reach two to three tons.

Forget about people, even if there’s a forklift underneath, it would get crushed.

Old Ma realized the seriousness of the issue and quickly said, ”I’ll go talk to the forklift operator right away.”

With that, he hurriedly headed towards the western shelf area.

Lu Li and Peng Erping continued to stroll through the production line.

Peng Erping pointed to an upright machine and introduced, ”This is a strapping machine, specifically for strapping the ends of stators.”

Lu Li puzzled, ”Shouldn’t the ends of the stator be wrapped with copper wire, why are you strapping and wiring?”

”Haha, this is the stator processing workshop, equivalent to the preliminary processing,” Peng Erping patiently explained, ”wrapping with copper wire is the work of another workshop.”

Lu Li somewhat understood, curious, ”What’s the use of strapping the stator lines?”

Peng Erping explained, ”The stator coils are strapped according to a predefined path, which helps improve production efficiency, reduce production costs, and improve product quality...”

Before he finished speaking, there was a fierce quarrel in the left shelf area.

”You just love to stir up trouble, the box is fine, you want me to take it down and reload it?”

”Old Gao, watch your mouth?”

”What do you mean watch my mouth, am I not making sense? Tell me where the box isn’t placed properly? Point it out to me!”

Hearing the quarrel, Lu Li and Peng Erping simultaneously turned to look.

They saw a short fifty-something worker, sitting on a forklift, arguing heatedly with Old Ma.

Perhaps the quarrel was rather loud.

Dozens of workers in the workshop all turned towards the west at the sound.

Suddenly, the production speed slowed down.

The workers were initially curious who dared argue with Old Ma, the workshop supervisor.

When they saw it was Old Gao, everyone just lowered their heads and got back to work, not looking anymore.

Everyone works together day in and day out, how could they not know Old Gao’s nature?

This guy is just a contrarian who sticks to his guns.

If you don’t convince him thoroughly, he has all sorts of twisted logic to counter with you.

This kind of thing has happened more than once or twice in the workshop, it occurs every now and then.

Naturally, once the workers saw it was Old Gao, they lost interest.

It’s such a common occurrence, who would waste time watching?

Peng Erping, as the boss, naturally also knows Old Gao’s nature.

Under normal circumstances, he might not bother.

But this time he was taking Lu Li around the workshop.

If something like this happens now, isn’t it making a joke of things?

Peng Erping frowned, ”Sorry Mr. Lu, this worker has a rather stubborn temper, please don’t mind the scene, I’ll go handle it.”

Lu Li said, ”Alright, I’ll go with you to have a look.”

The two of them walked slowly to the western area.

Old Gao was still arguing with Old Ma.

Old Ma, with the posture of a workshop supervisor, said angrily, ”Why so much nonsense when you’re asked to do something?”

Old Gao, in true contrarian style, stiffened his neck and said defiantly with a flushed face, ”You’re just looking for trouble, increasing my workload!”

Lu Li could tell that if no one intervened, it’s conceivable that the two could stand there arguing all day long.

For Peng Erping, as the boss, to have such things happen in the workshop with outsiders watching certainly felt a bit embarrassing.

He stepped forward and scolded, ”What are you two arguing about?”

”Boss.”

”President Peng.”

Old Ma and Old Gao stopped arguing.

Peng Erping frowned and said, ”Old Gao, I asked Old Ma to come over. Hurry up and fork down that crate, then rearrange it properly.”

Though Old Gao was always ready to bicker and confront the workshop supervisor, he truly didn’t dare to contradict the boss.

After all, he was over fifty years old, and just needed to hold out a few more years until retirement. If he offended the boss and got fired, it wouldn’t be worth it.

Old Gao put on a smile and said, ”Alright, President Peng. Let me load the crate onto the forklift first, and then I’ll get it done later.”

Peng Erping said, ”Okay, hurry up and deal with it, don’t delay.”

Old Gao displayed his sly old hand’s nature.

He saluted jokingly and said, ”Definitely, definitely.”

Seeing that the issue here was resolved,

Peng Erping didn’t pay more attention.

He turned to Lu Li and said, ”Mr. Lu, shall we continue our tour?”

Indeed, there was still a big wooden crate on Old Gao’s forklift.

Meanwhile, the crate on the shelf was sliding very slowly.

If not under any external influence,

it might take an hour or two before it fell down.

Lu Li determined there wasn’t an immediate problem and paid no more mind to it.

He nodded and said, ”Let’s continue touring. You only introduced me to the strapping machine earlier, so let’s discuss other aspects now.”

Peng Erping chuckled and said, ”Sure, this strapping assembly line, the second step is called wiring...”

He introduced it in great detail,

such as why wiring is necessary,

or why reshaping is needed, and so on.

Almost everything was explained thoroughly.

As Lu Li listened and walked, he gained a preliminary understanding of engine production.

Soon, they returned to the assembly line.

This location was about thirty meters away from the shelf area.

During this time, Lu Li kept an eye on whether Old Gao was completing his task.

Old Gao indeed unloaded the big wooden crate from the forklift onto the shelf.

Logically, he should have forked down the problematic crate and rearranged it.

Unexpectedly, out of the corner of his eye, Lu Li saw that after Old Gao placed the crate, he didn’t proceed with the task. Instead, he continued to lift another crate from the ground, preparing to place it on the shelf.

Up to this point, it wasn’t a big deal.

After all, the problematic crate was sliding down slowly.

However, to Lu Li’s surprise, Old Gao seemed to neglect safety while working. When placing the second crate, he clumsily collided with the problematic one.

This was disastrous.

Lu Li sensed the sliding speed of the crate suddenly increased.

”...Next is reshaping,” Peng Erping continued his introduction, ”Regarding reshaping...”

”Oh no!”

Lu Li quickly turned around and walked swiftly towards the shelf area.

Peng Erping, completely puzzled, said, ”Hey, Mr. Lu, what are you...”

His words were cut off as he witnessed a terrifying scene.

Not only did Peng Erping see it,

but some workers also saw it!

Perhaps due to the collision, the crate Lu Li mentioned earlier suddenly slipped off the shelf and plummeted downwards!

”Oh no!”

”Old Gao!”

Several workers cried out in alarm.

Peng Erping was also filled with urgency and was about to call out a warning.

But before he could even shout, the wooden crate containing twenty ninety-pound stators plummeted towards the forklift!

The crate fell with alarming speed.

The forklift had no chance of dodging!

Anyone could see that if the big wooden crate fell, it would flatten the forklift!

It’s over!

Someone’s going to get killed!

Peng Erping felt a chill in his heart.

If someone died from the incident, it would be a workplace safety accident.

Compensation wouldn’t be the major issue.

His factory would definitely face a safety re-inspection because of this.

In such a case, the factory might even be shut down for rectification!

The workers’ expressions changed too, knowing this was a serious incident!

Of course, the most terrified had to be Old Gao in the forklift.

Seeing the big crate falling down, he turned pale with fright.

He thought he was doomed!

In fact, everyone in the workshop, whether Peng Erping, Old Ma, or other workers, thought Old Gao was surely going to die.

After all, a crate weighing nearly a ton,

falling from a height of over three meters,

could certainly crush a person into pulp!

The most critical issue was that no one could do anything to save him from such a heavy crate falling!

Yes, everyone believed Old Gao was going to get smashed to death this time.

Perhaps they were too terrified. The dozens of people in the workshop didn’t notice that, at this critical moment, a figure dashed underneath the shelf, covering over thirty meters in less than a second, surpassing the limits of human capability!
