Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 74: Chapter 69: Player

Evening, just got back to Su City.

Lu Li hadn’t even had the chance to return to Liu Kexin’s side when his phone received a WeChat message.

With a safety-first mindset, he didn’t check it immediately.

He waited until he encountered a red light, then unlocked his phone to take a look.

Seeing who sent the message, he felt a bit surprised.

”What does the Little Flame want with me?”

He found it curious.

Randomly opened the message to have a look.

Little Flame: Brother Lu, are you busy?

Lu Li replied: Not busy, what’s up?

Little Flame sent a pitiful emoji: I fell in the bathtub and fractured a bone, could you come over and take me to the hospital?

Lu Li was at a loss for words, typing: Isn’t Agent Zhang around?

Little Flame sent a crying emoji: He’s usually at the company. Since I signed a one-year contract with you guys, I live here alone. I’m unfamiliar with the area and don’t have any friends. I’m stuck in the bathtub, so I’m asking you for help.

Guochun Talent Agency isn’t here; headquarters are a few hundred miles from Su City.

Alright!

He had no choice but to go.

Although she signed with the company, she’s currently in his project team, considered his ”subordinate.”

Now that there’s trouble, ignoring it doesn’t feel right.

Lu Li had to send a message: Send your location.

Little Flame quickly shared her location.

Lu Li checked it and found it wasn’t too far from him, casually typing a line: Wait for me ten minutes, I’ll be right there.

...

Arrived at Emperor Hotel.

Lu Li explained the situation to the front desk.

Then, the front desk had someone escort Lu Li to the eighth floor.

Outside the door, after confirming he was called for by a guest, the staff opened the room door.

Inside the room, Lu Li walked in and asked, ”Miss Li, where are you?”

”In the bathroom!” Little Flame’s voice had a painful gasp.

She quickly added, ”Could you please grab me a top and a pair of pants from my suitcase first?”

”Oh.”

Lu Li responded.

Walked into the bedroom.

Saw a pink suitcase.

He stepped forward, opened the suitcase, and... almost spat blood.

Inside, besides some regular clothes, there were some very sexy lingerie.

”Quite the colorful wardrobe.”

Lu Li, proceeding with the principle of respecting privacy, glanced over a few times.

Then he casually picked a white T-shirt and a pair of dark navy jeans.

Back at the bathroom door.

Lu Li asked, ”I’ve got the clothes, do you need me to come in?”

Little Flame hurriedly said, ”The door’s unlocked, please come in.”

Pushed the door, went in.

Lu Li turned his head and saw Little Flame lying in the foam-filled bathtub, sweating profusely, evidently in pain from the fracture.

Only her arms and head were visible, nothing else.

He could clearly see Little Flame’s right hand looked a bit swollen, presumably the fractured one.

Lu Li casually placed the clothes on a nearby rack, then moved forward and asked, ”Shall I help you up?”

Little Flame hesitated, saying, ”I’m not wearing any clothes right now.”

Truth be told, the first time Lu Li met her, he did have thoughts.

After all, she was extremely beautiful, with an explosive figure.

But last time, when Little Flame came to beg forgiveness, saying she’d even be willing to sleep with him in exchange for it...

Since then, Lu Li instinctively felt this woman was rather unclean, with no bad thoughts left.

He casually said, ”Don’t worry, I’ll keep my eyes closed, won’t sneak a peek.”

Only then did Little Flame exhale in relief, ”Mm, thank you, Brother Lu.”

As she spoke, she extended her left hand.

Lu Li grasped her hand.

A wet, slick feel greeted him.

He didn’t know why but his heart suddenly skipped a beat.

Though remembering what she said last time, Lu Li’s agitated heart calmed again.

He closed his eyes directly, slowly and carefully pulled her up.

Splosh.

The sound of water splashed.

Following that, Lu Li felt Little Flame leaning a bit onto him from weakness.

Instinctively, he embraced her, ”Can you...”

Before finishing his words, Lu Li quickly released his grip.

She wasn’t wearing clothes; his action was too forward.

The Flaming Babe didn’t mind much, just took a breath and said, ”It’s fine, I just stayed in the bathtub too long, my legs are a bit numb. I’ll just need a moment to recover.”

Lu Li kept his eyes tightly shut, ”Okay, let me know when you’re ready.”

A moment later.

The Flaming Babe said, ”Alright, Brother Lu, I can walk myself. Could you please keep your eyes closed a bit longer while I put on my underwear and cover up with a towel?”

Lu Li said, ”Okay.”

Shuffling footsteps could be heard.

Soon after, the Flaming Babe said, ”All done.”

Lu Li opened his eyes and saw that the Flaming Babe had wrapped herself in a towel. Anyway, the crucial parts were covered, with only her arms and legs exposed.

The Flaming Babe, a bit embarrassed, said, ”My right hand really hurts and I can’t move it. Brother Lu, could I bother you to help me put on my shirt and pants?”

Lu Li: ”...”

Having no other choice, he went forward to help her dress.

Closing his eyes just like before.

Lu Li carefully helped her put on the shirt.

”Brother Lu!”

”Cough, cough, sorry, I can’t see anything.”

”Alright, it’s okay now, help me get my right arm through the sleeve.”

”Alright.”

”Hiss... it hurts! It hurts! It hurts!”

”Uh, I’ll be gentler.”

After bustling about for quite a while, Lu Li finally helped her get dressed.

He kept his eyes closed the whole time, and although he didn’t see anything, he inevitably touched some parts of her body.

Because of this, after they finished, both felt a bit awkward.

Lu Li pointed outside, ”Should I take you to the hospital now?”

The Flaming Babe said, ”Sure, thank you for coming all this way and I’m sorry for getting you wet.”

Lu Li waved his hand, ”It’s no big deal.”

They left the room together.

Took the elevator downstairs.

...

Outside, in the parking lot.

The Flaming Babe thought Lu Li hadn’t driven here.

After all, his Camry’s door was recently hit and was now being repaired at the auto shop.

She took out her car keys, ”How about taking my car?”

Lu Li waved his hand, ”No need, I just bought a car today.”

”Okay,” the Flaming Babe looked around, ”Where’s your car?”

Lu Li pointed to a Porsche 911 surrounded by a few girls taking pictures, ”There, that Porsche.”

The Flaming Babe’s eyes lit up, ”Wow, you bought such a nice car? How much did it cost?”

Lu Li walked over to the car, turning his head as he truthfully replied, ”Not much, over two million.”

Saying that, he called out to the three or four girls taking pictures, ”Ladies, could you please move aside a bit?”

The three or four girls turned around, unable to take their eyes off him.

One of them, a girl with shoulder-length short hair, kept staring at Lu Li’s face and pointed at the Porsche 911, asking, ”Is this your car, handsome?”

Lu Li nodded, ”Yes, it is.”

”Wow, he’s so handsome and also rich.”

”A Porsche 911!”

The three girls whispered among themselves.

With Lu Li’s sharp hearing,

Even though they were whispering, he heard everything clearly.

He felt quite smug inside, yet didn’t show it on his face.

Lu Li pressed the unlock button on the key.

Soon, the door handle automatically popped out.

He was just about to open the door and get in.

Unexpectedly, the short-haired girl from earlier blinked and asked, ”Can I add you on WeChat?”

Huh?

A girl actually wants to add me on WeChat?

Truth be told, this was the first time Lu Li encountered such a situation, and he couldn’t help but feel secretly delighted.

Normally, he might add her.

But now, since he needed to take the Flaming Babe to the hospital, he didn’t have time to entertain others.

Lu Li waved his hand, ”No need, but thanks.”

Finished speaking, he got into the car.

The short-haired girl looked disappointed and left with her three friends.

The Flaming Babe got into the passenger seat, smiling, ”Brother Lu, your charm is really something. A girl just came up to you.”

Lu Li glanced at the backs of the girls, casually saying, ”I don’t know if I’m charming, but the Porsche 911 sure is.”

He’s not a fool; of course, he knew why the short-haired girl wanted to add him on WeChat.

One has to admit, buying this Porsche 911 was totally worth it.

Lu Li pondered if, in the future, he could rely on this luxury car to become a ladies’ man.

Hmm, that idea doesn’t sound too bad.
