Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 99: Chapter 91: Profiting 4 Million (4/10)

Driving along the road.

Lu Li felt quite satisfied with the test results just now.

Greatly increased spiritual power, and his body was once again fully enhanced.

It can be said that if he wanted to be a superhero, it might still be a bit challenging, but to be a mini-superhero in this ordinary world, there’d be basically no problem.

”If I chose to become an athlete, I could probably break all the world records, and no one would be able to break them in the future.”

Lu Li mused with interest about whether he should find a chance to dabble in the sports world for fun.

In the end, he thought it over and decided against it. With his current abnormal physical condition, if he went to the sports world for fun, who knows how many people would lose their jobs, not to mention it would attract too much attention and unnecessary trouble.

Instead of dabbling in sports, he might as well contemplate how to improve his quality of life.

For example, buy a luxury house.

Red light ahead.

Lu Li stopped the car.

He pondered to himself, ”The money made from selling jade hasn’t been taxed yet. Based on my last experience, I probably have to pay over a million in taxes.”

Currently, he has about 7 million. After paying a million or so in taxes, he would be left with a little over 5 million.

There’s no rush to report the taxes; it would be more convenient to report them together if the antiques could be sold later.

Lu Li thought, ”If those antiques can sell for 3 million, I probably have to pay 500 to 600 thousand in taxes, and by that point, I should have over 8 million in cash remaining.”

There’s still a little gap before reaching ten million.

However, buying a luxury high-rise apartment should be no problem.

”If I had more money, I’d directly buy a villa. Who would consider a high-rise apartment then?”

Everyone knows that living in a villa is definitely more comfortable than living in a high-rise.

Lu Li felt a bit restless. With dozens of seconds left on the red light, he casually picked up his phone from the side and searched for villa prices.

Just as he clicked in, he saw a villa called ”Mountain Blossom Spring.”

This villa is nearby.

According to the pictures, this is a single-family villa community, and the house styles look pretty nice.

Lu Li stared at the online description, noting that Mountain Blossom Spring has three villa types: three, four, and five bedrooms, with areas ranging from 268 to 527 square meters.

Of course, the villas are very expensive, costing 44,000 yuan per square meter.

”Even if I buy the smallest type, it would be roughly around 11.8 million. Adding stamp duty, deed tax, and transaction fees, it would likely total over 12 million.”

Lu Li couldn’t help but frown. ”Even if I can sell the antiques for 3 million, there’s still quite a gap.”

Forget it, if there’s not enough money for now, I’ll just buy a high-rise apartment first.

Or, I could browse the antique market more to make up the money.

As for second-hand villas, although they are relatively cheaper, I won’t consider them.

If I’m buying, I’ll go for a new villa. Who would buy a second-hand villa anyway?

He didn’t dwell on this further.

Originally, he wanted to check the prices of a few more villas, but the light turned green.

Lu Li put down his phone and continued driving forward.

...

Arriving at Longda Machinery.

Lu Li communicated with the guard and drove in.

He had just looked up online.

Longda is a more renowned engine manufacturing company.

It is not publicly traded and is a private enterprise.

Though Longda Machinery is a private enterprise, its scale is decent. According to online introductions, it has assets of around several billion and its products are sold domestically and internationally.

Whether these introductions were edited by Longda Machinery itself is unknown.

But a private enterprise with assets of several billion is considered quite good domestically.

Lu Li parked the car in the parking lot.

Got out.

Came to the office building.

Asked around and took the elevator to the third floor.

General Manager’s Office.

After knocking and entering, Lu Li met the client ”Out of the Wall by a Red Apricot.”

The other party was a tall, burly middle-aged man in his forties.

After self-introductions, Lu Li learned that the other man’s name was Peng Erping.

Peng Erping had a square face, looking as though he embodied a sense of justice.

As soon as he saw Lu Li come in, he immediately expressed a warm welcome and had his female assistant serve them some Mingqian Longjing tea.

After a while, pleasantries were exchanged by both parties.

Peng Erping began examining the porcelain to verify its authenticity.

Lu Li, meanwhile, sat on the sofa sipping tea.

About an hour later, Peng Erping had just finished authenticating most of the porcelain and was looking at He Xu Ren’s porcelain plaque.

Lu Li sat patiently, knowing that verifying the authenticity of porcelain takes time. After all, not everyone has x-ray vision like he does to identify real from fake at a glance.

”What a treasure.” Peng Erping stared at the plaque, ”This is a masterpiece by He Xu Ren, rarely seen on the market today.”

Lu Li put down his teacup, ”Are these porcelain pieces of mine decent?”

”Yes! They’re fantastic!” Peng Erping turned around and sat on the single sofa beside Lu Li, saying straightforwardly, ”Shall we discuss the price?”

Lu Li nodded, ”Okay, give me a price. If it’s right, I’ll sell.”

Peng Erping said, ”I’ll discuss each item with you.”

Lu Li had no objections, ”Sure.”

Peng Erping pointed to the He Xu Ren porcelain plaque, ”As one of the Eight Friends of Zhushan, He Xu Ren is undoubtedly well-known. If this pair of flower and bird porcelain plaques were in better condition, I might offer three hundred thousand. However, there are some flaws, so I might give you a discount. How about two hundred and forty thousand?”

Lu Li was using his Mind Reading Technique and found that the other party was sincere, so he didn’t haggle, ”Okay.”

Peng Erping seemed very happy, ”Then, let’s talk about this green-ground pink design ’Longevity and Happiness’ edged wash bowl. This piece almost feels like a fake. If someone isn’t well-versed in antique porcelain, they might not dare to handle it. But after careful inspection, it’s genuine. How about two hundred and fifty thousand?”

Lu Li discerned the other party’s sincerity, ”No problem.”

With a few words, they set the prices for two pieces of porcelain.

Peng Erping laughed, ”Mr. Lu, I didn’t expect you to be so straightforward. I must make friends with you.”

Lu Li hadn’t thought of any other money-making avenues yet.

In the near future, he might rely on antiques and jade for income.

He naturally didn’t mind having a wealthy client like Peng Erping.

He responded with a smile, ”President Peng, what are you saying? Aren’t we already friends?”

Peng Erping was momentarily taken aback, then laughed, ”Right, right, right, we are friends.”

Through this exchange, the relationship between the two of them quickly drew closer.

Next, Peng Erping quoted the prices for the remaining porcelain items one by one.

The Qianlong imitation Ding white glaze Kui dragon motif vase with elephant ears, quoted at nine hundred thousand.

The Republican-period enameled poem and teaching diagram garlic head bottle, thirty-two thousand.

The pair of Li Ying’s late Qing dynasty carved porcelain beauties pen holders, twenty-five thousand.

These porcelain items were relatively not too expensive.

Only the pair of Qianlong coral red-ground lotus pattern bowls exceeded a million.

The price offered was one million and fifty thousand.

Finally, Peng Erping calculated the total price with a calculator, ”Including the porcelain plaques, ten pieces of porcelain, a total of three million nine hundred seventy thousand. Mr. Lu, check if it’s correct. If so, I’ll transfer the money to you now.”

Lu Li had already mentally calculated and knew the price was correct, ”Yes, the amount is correct.”

Peng Erping stood up and walked back to his desk, ”Alright, give me your bank card number.”

Lu Li provided his bank card number to the other party.

While operating, Peng Erping said, ”I’m using a personal account, and there’s a daily transfer limit, so the money will come in two installments: one of two hundred fifty thousand and another of one hundred forty-seven thousand. Please check them yourself later.”

Lu Li nodded, ”Okay.”

Before long, Peng Erping completed the transfer, ”Since we’re doing an interbank transfer, it should arrive within two hours. Mr. Lu, let me show you around my factory first, and then we can have a meal together?”

You could tell he knows how to conduct himself well.

Under normal circumstances, when two people trade antiques privately without signing a transfer contract, who would feel reassured to leave with three or four million unreached in their account?

Even though Lu Li hadn’t explicitly expressed his concerns, Peng Erping proactively suggested a factory tour to allow him to wait for the funds to arrive.

Lu Li naturally understood Peng Erping’s intentions.

I have to say, as a private enterprise owner, he’s really good at making people feel at ease in dealings.

Lu Li didn’t refuse, ”Sure, I’d like to understand how engines are manufactured.”

Peng Erping stood up, smiling, ”If you’re interested, I’ll explain it in detail later.”

Lu Li stood up as well and said jokingly, ”Haha, President Peng, aren’t you afraid I’ll steal your secrets?”

Peng Erping laughed heartily, ”There are plenty of people in this trade. One more competitor doesn’t matter.”

The two of them chatted as they walked outside.

In the elevator going downstairs, Lu Li was still pondering about the money.

This time, selling antiques yielded just under four million, which was one hundred and eighty thousand more than anticipated.

Currently, he had about seven million in his bank account, and his cash assets seemed to exceed ten million, reaching around eleven million.

He would just have to pay taxes.

After estimating the taxes, he would still have more than nine million left, but it actually hasn’t broken ten million.

”Nine million or so doesn’t seem enough to buy a really good villa.”

Lu Li was contemplating how to earn another two to three million to buy a nice villa.

Stone gambling isn’t an option since there’s only one early market a week.

To quickly make money, it seems necessary to continue browsing the antique market.

Now that he had the ”World Wonders” group, selling antiques shouldn’t be difficult.

Alright!

Once the money arrives, I’ll head to the antique market.

With this in mind, Lu Li followed behind Peng Erping to the production area.

...

Factory Building No.1.

This is the engine stator processing workshop.

The western area was filled with large wooden boxes packed with iron stators.

The eastern area was a production line, with a large group of workers busy at their stations.

As soon as Lu Li entered, his keen perception noticed that a large wooden box in the western area hadn’t been placed properly and was slowly sliding at a pace invisible to the naked eye.

The key issue was that there were several forklift operators continuously moving goods in that area.

It seemed like there could be an accident if he didn’t warn them.
