Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 75: Chapter 70: Don’t Waste a Bad Woman

In the hospital.

The doctor had just finished putting a cast on Blazing Flame Baby.

”Are you her boyfriend?”

The balding doctor in his fifties, wearing glasses, looked up.

Lu Li waved his hand, ”No, we’re more like colleagues.”

”Oh.” The doctor turned his head to look to the side, ”You have a slight fracture, no need for hospitalization. After you go back, eat lightly. Try to avoid allergic, spicy, alcoholic, and greasy foods as much as possible.”

Blazing Flame Baby nodded, ”Okay.”

The doctor continued, ”Hmm, come back for a follow-up in a week, then every two to four weeks after that.”

After the diagnosis, Lu Li and Blazing Flame Baby thanked the doctor and left with the medicine.

Back in the car.

Lu Li started the car and asked, ”Where to, send you back to the hotel?”

Blazing Flame Baby didn’t say where to go, but instead, with gratitude, said, ”Sorry to bother you for so long today, thank you so much.”

Lu Li waved it off, ”No problem.”

The car slowly moved forward.

Blazing Flame Baby said, ”Can I treat you to a meal to show my gratitude?”

Just as she finished speaking, her stomach growled.

Lu Li glanced over and laughed, ”Seems like treating me to dinner is just an excuse, you’re actually hungry, aren’t you?”

Blazing Flame Baby smiled with her lips pursed, ”A bit hungry, I last ate around ten in the morning.”

”Alright, I’ll join you for a meal.” Lu Li drove out of the hospital, ”Let’s find a place that serves lighter food. By the way, your right hand can’t move, would you like someone to help serve you?”

Speaking of this, Blazing Flame Baby said helplessly, ”That’s all I can do, I’ll look for home care services tomorrow.”

Lu Li, somewhat speechless, said, ”You want home care to serve you at the hotel?”

Blazing Flame Baby said, ”I was planning to rent a place, but now with my hand injured, staying in a hotel is relatively safer. At least if something happens, I can call the staff to help.”

Seeing her pitiful look, Lu Li didn’t know what to say.

He changed the subject, ”You look about twenty-seven or eight, haven’t you dated? You could have him come take care of you.”

Upon hearing this, Blazing Flame Baby suddenly looked melancholic.

She let out a long sigh, ”Sigh.”

Lu Li, who was making small talk, saw she didn’t want to discuss it, so he didn’t press further.

Unexpectedly, just as they approached a traffic light intersection, Blazing Flame Baby said with a downcast tone, ”I had a boyfriend before, we dated for about seven years, and were even talking about marriage. But one day, I suddenly discovered he got involved with my best friend.”

Lu Li, who had been somewhat absent-minded, perked up at the gossip, ”What? Your ex-boyfriend got involved with your best friend? Tell me more.”

”There’s not much to say. I left my stream early one day and caught them sleeping together. Naturally, we broke up after that.” Blazing Flame Baby looked very sad, ”Even though he later came to apologize on his knees, I felt that our seven-year relationship couldn’t compare to a moment of excitement. It only showed he didn’t love me that much, so I didn’t forgive him.”

Lu Li turned the steering wheel to the left, ”Did you not date anyone after that?”

Blazing Flame Baby nodded, ”After a seven-year relationship, and him being my first love, ending like that was very hurtful for me. So I didn’t think about dating anymore, being alone is fine.”

According to what you said, you’ve only dated once?

Last time you said you’d sleep with me, you didn’t seem that innocent.

”First love? Dated for seven years?” Lu Li was somewhat distrustful, ”Really?”

Blazing Flame Baby was taken aback, ”Really what?”

Lu Li said, ”Nothing.”

The two fell into a brief silence.

A few more minutes passed.

Blazing Flame Baby suddenly seemed to realize something and exclaimed, ”Brother Lu, when you said ’really?’, were you referring to last time when I said if you forgive me, I would sleep with you?”

”Ahem.” Lu Li coughed, ”Back then, I was indeed quite shocked to hear that.”

Blazing Flame Baby blinked, ”So you thought I was a loose woman, not like someone who’s only been in one relationship?”

Lu Li smiled awkwardly, ”I couldn’t think of another reason, why else would you say that?”

Blazing Flame Baby didn’t mind, ”Yeah, hearing that, it’s normal to think so.”

Lu Li searched for a place, saw a restaurant not far away, and casually asked, ”So what made you say that?”

The car slowly drove into the parking lot.

Blazing Flame Baby said, ”There are two reasons...”

”We’re here.” Lu Li opened the car door to get out, ”Tell me over dinner.”

”Okay.”

Blazing Flame Baby also got out of the car.

Just after getting out, Lu Li noticed several women heading into the restaurant glancing at him more than once.

Mmm, no need to say, it must be thanks to the Porsche 911.

...

Cantonese restaurant.

Lu Li habitually found a window seat and sat down.

Blazing Flame Baby sat across from him.

They each ordered their dishes.

While waiting for their food.

Lu Li took a sip of water and asked, ”You said there were two reasons just now?”

Blazing Flame Baby nodded, ”Hmm.”

Lu Li put down the water glass, ”What are they?”

Blazing Flame Baby seemed a bit embarrassed, ”You can’t laugh at me when I say it later.”

Lu Li promised solemnly, ”I swear I won’t make fun of you, go ahead.”

Only then did Blazing Flame Baby say, ”Do you remember when we first met and shook hands, I scratched your palm with my finger?”

Lu Li nodded, ”I remember.”

Blazing Flame Baby said, ”To be honest, when I first saw you, my heart skipped a beat. I thought, oh my, how can there be such a handsome man in the world? Then... while shaking hands, I couldn’t help but scratch your palm. Hmm, I wanted to flirt with you, but then I remembered I had a task, so I didn’t continue.”

Lu Li broke out in a sweat, thinking, you’re really bold and uninhibited.

Blazing Flame Baby continued, ”As for why I said later I was willing to sleep with you, the first reason is that I find you very appealing, and I thought I’d be lucky to get to sleep with you.”

Lu Li: ”...”

Great, so I was the prey all along?

”The second reason...” Blazing Flame Baby dragged out the words, showing a very helpless expression, ”was when you sent me that video. After watching it, I immediately realized that if it wasn’t handled well, I might lose my job. I came to beg you earnestly, but you wouldn’t forgive me, I was really cornered, so I said whatever came to my mouth... One part was due to the circumstances forcing me, the other part is I do quite like you as a person.”

If what she said is true, then I really misunderstood her.

She can only be considered a bad woman, not a filthy person.

Provided she’s telling the truth.

Honestly, Blazing Flame Baby is really beautiful, with a great figure.

If she does like me, and given she’s not a ”filthy woman,” I wouldn’t mind something happening.

How to determine the credibility of what she’s saying?

The average person probably wouldn’t know.

After all, the human heart is unfathomable, who knows what’s true and what’s false in words?

But Lu Li actually had a way.

He possessed the Mind Reading Technique.

Thinking of this, Lu Li decided to test her, ”How about I play a game with you?”

Blazing Flame Baby curiously asked, ”What game?”

Lu Li said half-truthfully, ”I know a little about psychology. This is a psychological game, I’ll ask you a few questions later, and you can answer them in your mind, don’t say it out loud, then I can guess what you’re thinking, want to play?”

Blazing Flame Baby was rather surprised, ”Is it really that amazing? Sure, bring it on now.”

”Alright.” Lu Li asked, ”Do you really like me?”

As soon as he asked this question, the Mind Reading Technique heard Blazing Flame Baby’s heart, ”You’re so handsome, what girl wouldn’t like you? It would be great if I could sleep with you.”

Sweat!

Your thoughts are...

Lu Li couldn’t help but be somewhat amused.

He calmly guessed wrong on purpose, ”You said you don’t like me inside?”

”Hehe.” Blazing Flame Baby laughed, playfully blinking, ”You guessed it right.”

Lu Li asked again, ”How many boyfriends have you had?”

Blazing Flame Baby’s heart said, ”Just one, like I told you, that bastard Fu Yuhang, he deceived me for seven years, damn, I really want to kill him.”

Hearing her heart, Lu Li almost fell over, thinking he didn’t expect Blazing Flame Baby to seem sexy and open on the outside, but so combative on the inside.

However, he confirmed that Blazing Flame Baby hadn’t lied earlier.

This time, Lu Li didn’t pretend to guess wrong; after all, she had voluntarily said just one, ”One?”

Blazing Flame Baby complimented him, ”Guessed it right again, you’re really good, keep going with the questions.”

Lu Li already knew the answer he wanted, he wasn’t planning to ask more questions.

Seeing she still wanted to play, he suddenly remembered there was one more question he hadn’t asked.

But that question seemed inappropriate given their current relationship.

After a moment’s thought, Lu Li waved his hand and said, ”Never mind, let’s not play anymore.”

”Oh.” Blazing Flame Baby didn’t insist on continuing either.

Lu Li was about to turn off the Mind Reading Technique.

Unexpectedly, her thoughts came again.

”I thought you’d get bolder with questions, maybe ask me how many men I’ve slept with, but didn’t expect you to be quite the gentleman, not probing like other men.”

”Sigh, I’ve been suffering because of Fu Yuhang my whole life. If I knew that dog would cheat, I should have put horns on him plenty during our relationship, wouldn’t be stuck at 28 and only slept with a dog. For example, if I could sleep with Lu Li, that’d be great, he’s so handsome...”

Lu Li didn’t expect that the question he thought not to ask wasn’t asked, but her mind inadvertently revealed it, being heard by the Mind Reading Technique.

Huh?

You really only slept with one man?

So, I misunderstood you very deeply before?

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but feel heartbroken, thinking I shouldn’t have acted like a gentleman in the hotel with such a good opportunity, it’s all my fault for misunderstanding her, missing such a good chance.

Actually, he knew that earlier in the hotel wasn’t a good opportunity.

After all, her arm was broken.

If he hadn’t acted like a gentleman, the most would have been a feast for the eyes.

No matter if the chance was missed earlier, she indeed has an interest in me!

Lu Li couldn’t help but look at Blazing Flame Baby’s pretty face and perfect figure, pondering if he could seek an opportunity to develop something with her.

He was quite tempted by President Liu, except President Liu seemed hard to win over.

Blazing Flame Baby was different.

Since she had interest in him, winning her over shouldn’t be difficult.

As a young man full of vigor who’s hardly tasted meat, Lu Li wasn’t thinking about being exclusive, he just wanted to score.

Now, with a bad woman interested in him sitting right in front, it shouldn’t go to waste at all.

Lu Li secretly made up his mind, to stay caring and attentive during Blazing Flame Baby’s arm injury, nurturing the relationship well, and as soon as her arm healed, move right in!
