Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 84: Chapter 77: Worth 2 or 3 Million (Part 2)

Immediately, he pretended to look curious and said, ”You also know about antiques?”

Lu Li glanced at the triangle-eyed boss and said casually, ”I don’t know, I’m just here to take a random look and find some porcelain to decorate my house.”

The triangle-eyed boss’s gaze shifted.

Lu Li seized the opportunity to point at a yellow ground green-colored dragon-patterned plate and asked, ”Boss, how much for this plate?”

The triangle-eyed boss grinned and said, ”This is a Daoguang period imperial porcelain, very collectible. If you’re interested, I’ll sell it cheaper, let’s say sixty thousand.”

Lu Li used his Mind Reading Technique and overheard that the other party indeed knew the price of the plate.

He shook his head again, saying, ”Too expensive, I’ll look at something else.”

Wang Yu stood by without saying a word, just watching Lu Li choose.

”How about this pair with fish?”

”Daoguang period pastel fish-to-dragon pattern footed cups, seventy thousand.”

”And this glowing red porcelain jar?”

”Fifty thousand...”

”Tall bowl...”

”Sixty-two thousand...”

He asked about more than a dozen porcelains in succession, yet the other party had an accurate grasp, leaving no chance for a bargain.

Lu Li thought there was no way to find a bargain at this stand, so he pointed at the last brightly colored ”bowl” he had his eye on and asked, ”What’s the price for this thing?”

The triangle-eyed boss blinked, ”This is a Jiaqing period green ground pastel pattern basin, you give me thirty thousand.”

The Mind Reading Technique conveyed his inner thoughts: This thing looks like a fake, cost me four thousand to acquire, if this kid can offer twenty thousand, I’ll let it go immediately. What a shame, I misjudged, if it were real, it should be worth over two hundred thousand.

Hearing this inner thought, Lu Li secretly rejoiced and nonchalantly bargained with the other party.

The triangle-eyed boss originally wanted to quickly dispose of this item.

Finally, the price was bargained down to his psychological bottom line of twenty thousand, and he sold it immediately.

Lu Li transferred twenty thousand to the other party and casually picked up the basin.

Leaving the triangle-eyed boss’s stall.

Wang Yu exclaimed incredulously, ”Old Lu, you spent twenty thousand on such a useless thing?”

Lu Li chuckled and lowered his voice, ”You don’t understand, I can easily sell this for at least two hundred thousand.”

”Holy shit!” Wang Yu was shocked, ”Can you make that much?”

Lu Li nodded, ”It’s an antique, so the price is definitely higher. Help me hold this, I’m going to check out some others.”

Saying this, he handed the basin to Wang Yu as if it were trash.

Wang Yu took the basin with his body tense, afraid of accidentally dropping it. He couldn’t afford the two hundred thousand in compensation.

Lu Li didn’t care about the basin and crouched in front of the fat boss’s stall to scout.

Looking around, he found that most were fakes, possibly eighty percent, but there were indeed some old items.

Lu Li counted, about seven or eight pieces could be confirmed as genuine.

He pointed at a white elephant ear bottle and said, ”Boss, how much for this?”

The fat boss grinned like a Maitreya Buddha, ”Not expensive, ten thousand.”

Hmm?

Ten thousand?

Lu Li doubted his ears, uncertainly asking, ”Ten thousand?”

The fat boss thought he was being too pricey and proactively cut the price, ”Eight thousand works too.”

Lu Li nearly stumbled, comparing to the previous stalls where the prices were all tens of thousands, this was the first time he’d encountered such a low offer.

This made him doubt if he was seeing it wrong.

But Mind Reading Technique couldn’t be mistaken, the thing was genuinely an old object.

Lu Li frowned and said, ”So cheap? It can’t be fake, right?”

The fat boss vehemently denied, ”How could that be, all my goods are authentic. A friend owed me money and couldn’t pay, so they used these porcelains to pay the debt. Would I let them pay with fakes?”

At this point, the Mind Reading Technique conveyed the fat boss’s inner thought: ”Damn, I’m such an idiot, that bastard gave me a bunch of fakes as debt payment, and I believed it. When I had someone check, nearly all were fakes, damn, I’m so pissed. I’ll just try to fool this youngster, any price over a thousand works for me.”

Hearing this inner thought, Lu Li realized why the boss was selling so cheaply; he didn’t understand either.

He could guess that the boss likely brought a bunch of porcelains to a professional for appraisal.

But the professional saw a few fakes, lost interest, and quickly concluded they were all fakes.

Indeed, over eighty percent of the porcelains here were fakes; who had the patience to check each one?

Given this, he could definitely snag the seven or eight genuine pieces.

But buying them one by one might arouse suspicion.

Lu Li’s mind turned, and he had an idea.

He pointed at over forty porcelains and said, ”Boss, I won’t waste your time. I want to buy some porcelains to decorate my home. You have around forty here; if you’re willing, I’ll directly give you thirty-five thousand for all of them. If not, I’ll walk away.”

His offer was six thousand less than the fat boss’s expected price.

If selling one by one, the boss would be reluctant.

But now Lu Li expressed willingness to take all the porcelains.

The fat boss considered the quick return, thinking it was a perfect deal.

After all, setting up a stall here also required a fee.

The fat boss didn’t agree immediately, ”Just a bit more, add just a little more.”

Lu Li unwaveringly shook his head, ”No more, just thirty-five thousand, take it or leave it.”

Having said that, he turned to leave, ”Old Wang, let’s go.”

Wang Yu hastily said, ”Alright.”

Seeing them about to leave, the fat boss panicked, ”Sold! Sold! Thirty-five thousand it is!”

...

Because he bought a whole bunch of porcelains.

Lu Li couldn’t possibly continue browsing.

But a Porsche 911 couldn’t fit over forty porcelains.

He had no choice but to call in a truck to help transport the porcelains back.

Poly Yuxi.

As soon as Lu Li returned, he picked out the genuine pieces and began searching online for similar shapes and period porcelains to compare prices.

Wang Yu sat on the sofa, watching Lu Li curiously.

”Qing Qianlong Elephant Ear Bottle...”

Lu Li suddenly widened his eyes, secretly shocked, ”Holy shit, estimated to be worth several hundreds of thousands?”

He would never have thought, among the porcelains mistakenly believed by the fat boss to be all fake, there was an elephant ear bottle worth several hundreds of thousands.

Lu Li got excited, hurriedly picking up the next blue-rimmed plate to compare.

Soon, he found it.

He got excited again, ”Wow, valued over two hundred thousand?”

Counting that basin.

Just these three porcelains alone were worth nearly a million?

He still hadn’t checked the other seven genuine pieces.

Lu Li felt extremely excited.

The three porcelains combined were worth a million.

Considering the remaining seven pieces, could they be worth two to three million?

Though he didn’t know for sure, Lu Li couldn’t help but feel elated.

Since discovering the way to earn from antiques, quitting his job seemed like the right move.

Working hard, staying up all night livestreaming for the company only brought in tens of thousands at best.

Now, he’s free, focusing on antiques, making tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands effortlessly.

Isn’t this better than livestreaming?

Great!

Quitting was a wise choice!

Lu Li made up his mind.

Not daring to speak for all future days, at least until he finds a way to earn money effortlessly, he’ll likely rely on antiques to get rich.

Though antiques are just a phase, earning a mansion shouldn’t be an issue, right?
